Scotland - Campsites vs Park ups

- In this video we sample a couple of campsites and a couple of free park ups. Make your mind up which would be best for you.
The campsites - A Camping and Caravan club site next to Ross County football ground and a quality beachside campsite in Hopeman on the East Coast of Scotland overlooking the Moray Firth.
The park ups - A forest car park close to Dingwall and the Cromarty Firth with a steep woodland walk to the Fyrish Monument built in 1872 by Sir Hector Munro and another forest car park on the A9 and featuring the North Gateway cafe.
This is episode 146 in a series of videos cataloguing our post retirement adventures. We are Kath and Sue and we are travelling the UK with our dog Fudge and living full time in our Burstner Elegance Motorhome. We have given up conventional living for a new van-life, enjoying the freedom of the road and plenty of time outdoors taking in the beautiful countryside the UK has to offer.

Kath you did indeed say Fyrish right, 😁 i live right by it along the Cromarty Firth, along the north 500 route, but never been up it myself due to being disabled but have heard (and now seen thanx to you video) that it is an amazing walk and view ❤ but have been enjoying seeing your Scottish vlogs the past few weeks ❤ hope.all is good with you and Sue and Miss Fudge

Rosemarkie is much much nicer than the Dingwall site but does get booked up as its right on the Morray Firth on the beach. One of our favourite sites to go to!

Can you not just used a launderettes? Cheaper that campsites all the time. 😊
We do use launderettes as well, but can’t use the revolution ones as Sue has sensitive skin so we stick to our own non-bio brand. Sometimes launderettes are not in places where it’s easy to park a big van like ours so I end up dropping Sue off and parking elsewhere leaving Sue there for ages. Also they are generally quite a bit more expensive than those on campsites so whilst overall campsites are more expensive sometimes it’s worth it for the convenience. At least Sue can sit in the van and do other things whilst washing/drying is on the go. All depends on where we are and how much clean running kit Sue has left. 😂🙏🚌❤️
