it may sound corny and cheesy but...
this video is very healing for me personally. it is like balm for my soul. in general, this video is great because it confirms that ceo's in the kpop business can be great people. and everyone who knows this channel knows that there are only great videos about great people.
but right now insomnicsy saves me, so to speak, from the darkness that surrounds me. for days i've been trying not to let this feeling of sadness and being angry get to me too much. it only works to a limited extent.

I have a lot of respect for CEO nim . When Minx didn’t work out, he shouldered that, and instead of just scrapping the group and starting with new girls, he believed in our girls and made a way for them to still live their dream.
From some sources, i'm surprise that he even willing to sell some shares of the company so that he can have more money to redebut DC. 1of the bravest decision i would say👍

DCC might be a small company but the staff is on the next level. I still remember seeing the CEO in Mix9 and introducing the trainees as " our kids" not trainees . The staff not only cares for DC but for everyone 🤧 such a wholesome and sweety family. I wish DC and other groups in this company success. But if possible just stay a small company with a small staff. So that u all can take care of each other ❤️
I don't think you have to worry about it staying a small company. The main reason Happyface created Dreamcatcher Company was to ensure that DC had a company all to themselves. A company focused solely on caring for, supporting and promoting just one group, Dreamcatcher.

The CEO seems like a really easygoing and laidback guy, no wonder the girls (especially Siyeon) like to imitate him lol. They seem to be also treated well from all outward appearances which I'm quite thankful for.
A lot of k-pop fans who stan only big group will probably think that DC are unlucky due to them being smaller company and have lesser budget, promotion and due to the niche genre they don't have billions of instant view. But as an InSomnia we can see that they're very content in their company that literally their CEO speaks to them like he is their father or cool Big brother figure

You nailed it man, I'm not trying to shade any other group but the given fact is that we can see how bad things are going for the other girls in the kpop scene and how their companies badly treat them, which is very condemning but it is also very refreshing to see DCC CEO-nim's personality and how he cares for the girls. What I find equally impressive is that according to the members, the CEO was really receptive during negotiations for the girls to receive better terms and deals and I'm not sure if any other company, let alone a company exec, will place that much care on and listen to an entertainment group's thoughts and concerns like that on a business and professional level. DCC may have some faults but this? Their continual good and fair treatment of dreamcatcher and their staff? That'll never be one of them.
@@cuanchulainn Well, you also gotta consider that from a business perspective, retaining Dreamcatcher is and has to be the single highest priority for Happyface because they make literally all of the money. Any of the members not re-signing would be an absolute disaster. I mean the fact that they renamed themselves Dreamcatcher Company is telling; they are very much a one group company. Maison was not only Dreamcatcher's first win but the entire company's first win. So this is just smart business strategy. As opposed to a Big Three company that could afford to screw up any of their groups in the quest for short term profit because hey, they got 6 other huge successes to work with anyway. Companies that rely on one group to succeed are incentivized to treat that group's members well and will therefore always be better.

@@plasmakitten4261 but CEO-nim also sacrifice alot just to redebut dreamcatcher again. he actually have plenty of option other than dreamcatcher. but he obv don't want to abandon them. he literally promise to take care of the girls by oepning cucumber shop if they fail the redebut. he doesn't only treat dreamcatcher nicely but also d1ce. they have pretty consistent comeback depsite not beeing big. if d1ce are not on happyface they won't get a single comeback. remember that CEO want to debut one of the member early just for one of the member grandma? remember how back then dreamctacher are not financially well that they have to sell lot of songs right? thats usually a red flag for disbandment even for small company,
a reminder CEO nim is actually pretty successful before he went back to korea.
Also I love to see the great relationship Dreamcatcher have with their CEO and the whole company staff. hf/dcc might lack at promoting more the girls in korea from what I've seen, but the fact the girls renewed their contracts, and everytime they speak of the CEO speaks volumes of how great as a person he is and how good they've been treated all these years, I'm grateful they're being treated as they deserve. I wish other groups had Dreamcatcher's luck.
Well I'm not sure about the Korea promo, they did soooo much busking, fansigns and small concerts and atm so many small concerts for charity or summer festivals and fansigns (they had like 6 this week) and not to forget the Halloween concerts. All just for the Korean audience. Even Minx wasn't badly promoted, when I think of the content they produced just for two tt, it's actually insane. But sometimes it just doesn't work out, I always think of mera and her infamous video. About the time before Deja Vu she said that "Dreamcatcher seemed to be everywhere but the spaghetti wasn't sticking to the wall" and I think that's exactly it. The Korean public just wasn't used to the sound and smaller companies are just in general under the radar.
Also they had so much interest from the international audience since the beginning that it would've been dumb to not use that. Other groups try desperately to break into the foreign market and they did a full world tour just one year into their career. I'm not a marketing expert so maybe all I say is wrong but I think it's smart to focus on the international market if it accepts you so willingly. So since they didn't have a huge budget at the beginning they maybe decided to focus on international. Although again, they did a lot of promo back then. I don't know if you have to pay for busking, it feels like you should get paid for attracting people but who knows.

More than anything I said the lack of promo in korea because that's what I saw kfans complaining for the last 2 comebacks and tour, but I personally think the same as you because yeah Dreamcatcher and hf/dcc has been doing a lot to make the girls being more known to the local public especially in the early years with all the buskings they did and events they attended, but yeah It's not that they're not being promoted well in Korea but it's just that the korean public aren't interested and probably as well hf/dcc doesn't have the impact/budget/attention as big companies have whenever their groups make a comeback or any other activity i think that influences a lot as well 😔
Not to mention that in SK they have to compete with the big 4 and all the other companies whereas it feels like most companies are only now starting to focus on the international market. HF/DCC were way ahead of the rest with their international touring focus from the start.

@@cherryblossomsak that's exactly it, it's not that they weren't promoted in SK, they worked their arses off in the early years, but it just never took because of all the big company influence that success in SK requires. So DCC turned their attention overseas, and that reaped rewards. They actually had SK concerts planned in the early years, but they had to be canned because they couldn't sell out a thousand tickets. Kfans of Dreamcatcher are pretty much what I-fans of most other Kpop groups are like, complaining about a group that doesn't cater to them as a primary audience.

@@mushroomexpress3049 Yes! That's what I really want to point out when stantwt complains about DCC's promotion methods - but I'll get cyberbullied if I do, based on previous experiences. Sure, they have a point, but it's also a bit naïve. I say time and time again, you can't expect a small company like DCC to have the same operational capacity and ability as larger agencies. They advocate for their idols getting proper rest but complain about not being able to give them the same amount of work or be given the same opportunities as more popular idol groups.
As long as it's not like how TS Ent. was with B.A.P., or JYP Ent. with Twice, I'm happy with the balance they have now. If anything, it would be cool if we can get collaborations/features in the main releases or a special album. Or maybe even fan-produced content (I actually have ideas). But those are merely suggestions I have no expectation of getting picked up. I'm just a fan after all.

@@mushroomexpress3049 Sure. As fans, it's rare for us to have significant transparency when it comes to an agency's operations. They're definitely capable, but I don't think a lot of it is as dramatic and elaborate as what you would see in a K-Drama or something. I assume such cases are more along the lines of journalists being paid to write a biased article, or a similar method for broadcast stations/showrunners. Another example could be like the fiasco happening over at BlockBerry Creative right now. There are numerous reports and testimonials of upper management not paying staff, idols and other outsourced labour (song producers, choreographers etc.) And now after Chuu's expulsion, they're adding more gas to the fire with their recent company statements, which inadvertently brought more people to speak out against the company.
The moment that DC girls resigning new contract, not only as individual but as whole group which is 7 of them did it together although the expiration of their original didnt ended yet, shows how much they trust the company and how much stronger their bond within the staff and Ceo himself. HFE/DCC Ceo deserved so much praised and credit for not only treated the girls well, but also protecting them like theyre his daughters. You can tell how much the girls respected him. You get what you give, Kudos to the CEO for always believed the girls, never giving up and look what happen now, DeuKae is bigger than before and proving to us that anything is possible if youre not giving up

Deukae's CEO is basically the company dad, I have so much respect and appreciation for him not just for sticking with the group until they finally hit it big, but for making the whole company feel like one big family. It's plain as day how happy all the members are. Sure is nice never having to feel guilty about being an Insomnia, everything about it is just such a positive experience.
Love how the relationship between CEO & Dreamcatcher is more like a funny & caring father and his chaotic daughters...DCC might be a small company, but they all work together like a big family...sometimes it's better to work with a small company and surrounded by great & positive people...rather than work with a huge @ss company but full with negative & toxic colleagues...

What a great atmosphere he's built for his company. That last clip was way before they got first place, and it really feels like it wouldn't have mattered if they never won during their time there. Despite some of the company's choices on merch (the crazy amount of photocards etc) I'm still thankful that the girls have been taken care of till now, and that shows with how comfortable they are with the CEO. He's the best, but I just found out that he and HIS WIFE are both CEO (correction, she seems to be a director?) and she's so cute as well. So it's not a lie when we say DCC is like a family😍
His wife (Kim Mi-jin) is actually a Director, not the CEO, at the agency - though I'm not sure if there are multiple Director positions. But yeah, it's no secret Joo-won and Mi-jin treat their company like a big family. Watching the Mix9 cuts of HFe at the time and seeing YG/Yang Hyun-seok's attitude to the idols was heartbreaking, and you can tell how it much it hurt the two from watching their reactions.

I just sometimes wish they had a cool sister group or could do a mega project with other idols. The only chance is probably Queendom 3. It's sad that Dalshabet is "on hiatus", because they were actually so prominent in the Minx videos, it's crazy. Definitely for marketing but it felt even more like a family.
DC needs to get out there, their own company is fine and small is good, but it would just be a banger to see them in other projects. And I mean big projects, not the small features they did. They know almost every idol and I think Handong was just eating lunch with the C-Line of f*cking Twice, (G)I-dle and others. How can they still not do collabs? In the end it's probably a stupid company copyright reason. But just imagine the possibilities.
@@moongirl8807 Yeah, all the members of D1CE barring Jinyoung (they're all '95-liners aside from him) are doing their service. I don't know when most of them went in, but their leader Yonggeun should be discharged any time now, if he hasn't been already.
Collabs would definitely be cool. Offhand, the only cross-label collab they've done that I can think of is SuA and Seungyeon's dance cover. Outside of personal projects, though, collabs mostly tend to be for awards shows etc... which of course, Deukae never get invited to... 🙄

Kpop mostly is so extremely capitalistic, it’s nice to see that Dreamcatcher really seem to have it better with their company/label. Dreamcatcher overall seems more „real“ than a lot of other groups, more human than idol, and that’s great 🙂

It’s crazy because I remember he also showed up to their last tour stop in the USA, and when we heard he was there, everyone looked around to see where he was at (far away from me since I was in the pit and he was in the seats lol).
