    If the refs didnt flag the chiefs in the beginning for holding and pass interfering it would of got worst . The chiefs got a problem with holding and won against the 49ers by holding and not getting flag for it . Basically the refs helped the chief's win SB against the 49ers in my opinion.

      Thank you! I've been telling everyone this! I guarantee Andy watched that game and told the refs during their week or prep to not call DPI late in the game, call it throughout if their gonna call it. Then the refs took their advice and started throwing flags and now everyones butt hurt. The flags literally came out in the 1st half, dont people usually complain when they only happen in the 2nd half?

    The Chiefs have been playing "dirty" for the entire season. So much so, they thought that they were entitled to play that way. Then, the referees started enforcing the RULES! All the replays that I saw showed that the calls were LEGITIMATE! I really hate it when the announcers say, "Well, the referees are letting the teams play." What??? How about enforcing the RULES of the game?

Tampa was prepared and made sure Hill was not going to beat them ... then mahomes can’t move like he can and Achilles injury guy creates a domino effect.. so far from their best. Devon White plays lights out. Brady had enough time to execute well enough... let’s see what happens next year... repeat Super Bowl?

    I think Joe Namath called it. Best way to nullify the refs? Don't commit a violation of the rules. Todd Bowles had a brilliant game plan and his players responded. The bucs were playing mad and for the most part in control

      I agree that it wasn’t the main reason they lost but Tampa were holding GB like crazy yet nothing was called while when the chiefs hold vs Tampa they call them each time
      They need to be consistent
      You can’t say hey we won’t call holding in conference championship games because we prefer to let them play then call a billion holds in the Sb and not “let them play”

      Remember that the Super Bowl crew was not the same from the NFC championship game. As some different officiating crews tend to throw more flags of one type then the other. We just had a crew that throws alot of flags for holds

And for the second half of this season, the Bucs were the team with the least penalties. So I guess it's a conspiracy, and all the refs are out to get the Chiefs, and not just that the SB reflected what the two teams have been doing for many games.
      Even the Chiefs' coaches admit that they committed too many penalties. But you know better, of course.

      A few KC TD passes were dropped, around 10 penalties that gave TB gimme TDs .. That made all the difference in who won even though TB outplayed KC regardless

    Stats don’t lie. Most penalized team in the first half, especially the first quarter, ever. KC allowed to hold all year and in the SB, suddenly no.The Bucs played exceptionally well, but it is what it is.

      Eh maybe, but I don’t think you could overcome that big of a mismatch between the Chiefs O-line and the Bucs pass rush no matter what the game plan was. I feel bad for all the Chiefs getting crucified (Mahomes, Reid, Bieniemy) when it was pretty clearly the O-line’s fault.

    Did the Buccaneers Have a Home Field & Refs Advantage? Answer: NO. All calls against KC were legitimate calls by referees, and TB was not expected to win all 3 games before reaching the Super Bowl. And, KC was supposed to be the superpower.

      Run the ball against the best run D in the NFL for the last two years. The Bucs D average rushing yards allowed was only 80.6 a game and only 91 in the post season, KC's 10 was the high mark in the post season.

      @@ineffable1129 but the runs were netting yards. Mahomes needed to play like brady. The bucs D was a beast but it was far from the best D ever.
      Brady would have ran the ball, set up play action and threw more underneath balls to keep the chains going. The bucs were double and triplling hill so the chiefs should have used that to get guys into the spaces hill was running out of.
      There was a lot of pressure. But Brady would have kept a RB and a TE back to help sure up the pass defense. The bucs gave them plenty to work with if the chiefs were willing to take it.
      But that's the difference between Brady and mahomes. Brady has faced some great defenses with poor recieveing talent and poor line play and have made it work, gotta be willing to take what is given and hope the other guys mess up.

      It’s the NFL, every team holds every play. It’s up the officials to determine the degree and when to call it. It’s also used to tip the balance of games.

      It wasn't horriblely officiated. Maybe mediocre at worst. Your team has been committing stupid penalties all year. And in the last two playoff games, they got away with committing DPI left and right. Then they ran into a crew that calls games tight, and came into this looking for DPi since it had an effect in both Championship games. A team that's used to getting away with DPI ran into a ref crew that doesnt let teams get away with it. That's what happened.

      I'm a lifelong member of the Chiefs Kingdom and I was screaming no when Andy did that. It was way too aggressive for how the offense was playing. That being said the PI was complete garbage. Two players tangle their feet and that's called incidental contact.

    Honestly chiefs was out played bottom line and I'm a diehard Chiefs fan. As for home field advantage I'm sure it had some advantages for sure. They could always have a second location as a backup just for this reason I guess, cause not all NFL teams get to host the superbowl so that would eliminate that ever happening.
    Congratulations Tampa maybe we see ya next year for a rematch!!

    I talked to my dad around noon super bowl Sunday then about a hour before the game I got news he had a heart attack I watched the first half and was pretty emotional an felt intense when tb made good plays I’m a brady lover at half I found out he was ok in the hospital watching the second half felt so much more free and then brady wins his 7th a day I shouldn’t ever forget love you dad

    Spare me the complaints about the refs, what about last year's SB? Chiefs were holding the 49ers D line all game long yet not a single penalty? Embarrassing officiating. Chiefs were the most penalized team in the league for offensive holding last year. Not to mention a number of other bad game changing calls or no calls for that matter. Whatever suits the NFL'S narrative for the year i guess. 🤣

    The Bucs' run game was virtually unstoppable and their defense was perhaps the best I've ever seen, especially that front four. They win that game 10/10 times

    The Chiefs are a notorious defensive holding team. Guys can’t run if they are being grabbed. Also, check the fourth quarter when a KC lineman grabs JPP by the jersey and literally whipped him to the ground in front of the refs. No call. It happens. But those holds and PI were legit calls. You can’t hold receivers like that, it disrupts timing.

    Hmmmm. NOBODY is mentioning the FACT that the Chiefs had FOUR O-line backup players in positions they normally dont play which didnt give Mahomes any time at all and YES the refs were making calls that arent normally called in regular season games let alone playoffs and the Super Bowl. Two out of eight flags should have been called. The others should not have been. But it was BRADY BONE HEAD!!!!

    that one drive had a ton of terrible flags. the holding that reversed the int, the pass int by tripping, the pass int in the endzone where it was uncatchable, terrible calls.

    It looked like the Chiefs defensive backfield said, "We're going to hold and harass receivers. The refs can't call a flag every time."
    But the refs did.
    And it looked like the Bucs cover guys, including Lavonte David, stuck close to receivers and only made contact when the ball got there. I grant you, it was usually close, but a ref could always think a hit was legit because the Bucs were going for the ball.
    It's not bad refereeing when you actually commit an infraction.

    You can't take this win away fro the bucs. Yeah there were questionable calls but I haven't seen a game all seasono long without questionable calls. And even without a single penalty the chiefs still lose because they couldn't score a touchdown. Our defense dominated and that's all there is to it. Chiefs underestimated us and got too cocky

    The best team in NFL history, according to the media, was just severely out played. 25-1 in the last 26 games Mahomes started. Credit to Mahomes, he tried his hardest with some of the most amazing incomplete passes I've ever seen. But that defense was ready to show up, and Brady just had to be Brady. Better luck next year

    There were a few questionable calls but its mainly due to Chiefs receivers hands were just for decoration. Mahomes threw directly to them but they didnt catch it

    I'm kinda tired of people saying the refs helped the outcome! Mahomes didn't hit 100 yards passing until late in the 3rd quarter. Not only that but going into the playoffs KC was one of the highest teams in the NFL for penalties. Bucs D played lights out Cover 2 all game which made it extremely difficult to get the passing game going. That's the game of football. You see a weakness and you expose it.

    I don’t believe they were lopsided, the Buccs just didn’t commit penalties, holding has almost not been called throughout the Post season and that remained true, a few face masks and deep field holds weren’t called against KC either... it’s been consistent, KC was just doing too much wrong thinking they could get away with it, wanna take away ref intervention?
