Thank you so much for all of your support!! Info about my shop, Instagram, and supplies are in the video description :) Which artwork was your favorite? Copic or Crayola?
I think the Crayola picture is an excellent demonstration of your skill, while the Copic picture is an excellent case for putting fine tools in the hands of finer artists.
I love how smooth the Copics look since they blend very well, but i also love how the crayola markers turned out as well. The colors are very vibrant it looks pretty :P
Kimchi_SpiritFox i actually prefer the Crayola markers for parts of this. It gives it a lot more of a anime style while the copics make it a little too smooth. For other things though copic markers are way better (probably the best example with these images are the boots.)
I like the Copic, its very smooth, and blendable, While with the Crayola, the paper reacts differently, and the texture changes once it dries, causing the colour to look different. Some of the colours are a bit too dark or neon for the picture as well. Usually, when I colour I use a mix of different markers or colouring tools, so I find this unique
My reviews on both drawings; Crayola; Playful and vibrant but very streaky but still very nice and also the shading was more visible which is useful and also the wool bumps had a nice touch, the skin colour was okay but i did like the shading on the skin colour, the hair was okay but a lighter blue would of done the job Copic; Less vibrant but very smooth and no streaks, the colours blended very well, the colouring was spectaculaur and the skin colour and hair colour was perfect!

The copics look way to simple and just dense it has no shine to it, it looks like a little 12 year old girl colored it While the Crayola dose look chunky, it has a lot of shine and pop it looks really nice and vibrant as suppose to the plain one that looks like she just used one color for one thing and just went over it again making it look somewhat darker
@@punkyagogo I think the quality of the Ohuhu makes are great. My only problem with them is that they aren't refillable. If they were refillable, that would be even better. Although, some people are saying that you can flip the nib over.
To be Honest, The Crayola Isn't that bad. I'm not saying it's good either, I would still prefer a art marker because Crayola doesn't blend well, I if I were to judge the marker's to 100%, Crayola would be 50% And the Copic would be 78%.

ikr, i actually really like the left one. to me it looks like it'd be more of a difference in art style more than a different in quality of the overall image i also have to admit that i personally prefer the hair on the left one
yeah i agree haha like the left one too, if she'd take paper which wouldnt absorb so much and get crinkled then the left one would be probably as good from the quality of the drawing

I actually like the Crayola one better! I like the brighter colors and I actually like that everything wasn't completely blended together, I think it helped see the details better. I swear by my Crayola Fine Liners, I just wish they could layer better!
I REALLY LOVE this kind of video! Please compare more budget to professional grade products! "It's a poor artist who blames their tools" has been one of my favorite quotes for a long time because honestly, I could never afford the more expensive supplies and made do with things like crayola. I do think that they are /pretty good/ as far as budget art supplies intended for kids, and this artist seriously proves that they can look great! But when I got my copics and faber castells, I never wanted to go back.
i love how everyone when they first start think they're $300 markers are going to make them better artists like no you don't start with that you ding-dong. It's like starting out with a Cintiq like wtf u doing.

Oh, and there are over 350 colours, though I think most people say that when you hit about 170 you generally have enough shades and colours to do just about anything with them. So long as you're not a completeist, there is an end in sight. :)
The Skeleton Wizard I cant even afford the copics markers my city they are eight dollars each sooo plus crayola is cheap and more fun and more realistic
good video. I use water-based markers (not crayola though) like watercolors. that's pretty much what some of them are, watercolor markers. my favorite brand for doing this is Zig Clean Color Real Brush, it has a bristle tip so it really is like painting with watercolors. oh, and I use watercolor or mixed media paper. then you are less likely to get warping and breaking!
i dont know what it is about me but i really enjoy watching people colour in illustrations its really satisfying and for some crazy reason, so far, this was realllly satisfying i dont know why dont ask me i have problems okay. :/ :)
Crayola made it look handmade, yet well done. Copics made it look like it was printed. :P The bad thing about Crayola is how the paper gets all... damp, and has a weather-beaten looking feel to it. I bet you could make something better with Crayola. :P
Antie Cuteness That's kind of an obvious, but having better quality art materials help tho, with other cheap materials, the range of results are limited
I personally like Crayola more just because it's more vibrant. But I know the Copic markers are probably smoother and you can layer and they blend. Lots more colors to choose from as well. But I love the tone in Crayola
A water colorist will tell you that you need to 'size' the paper before working with water based inks. To size the paper you staple it down to a solid board (I use 1/2 inch foam core, with staples about 1/2 inch apart on all edges) and then wash the entire surface evenly with water. When it dries the paper will shrink evenly. Then do your painting on the board before you cut it free. You'll have no buckling. That being said, you're quite talented.
As it shrinks, it fights the staples holding it in place, so it's kind of like a piece of leather getting tighter as it dries. Once the paper is dry, and still held in place by the staples you can re-wet it with water colors or water based ink, and it won't buckle up. When you're done, you trim the stapled edges and have a nice flat piece of paper. Of course, the better the paper, the better the results.
BMBirdsong Thanks for the tip! I never heard of this technique so in the past I would tend to avoid water based ink all together. I’ll be sure to try it out! How thick a paper would you recommend? What’s your preference?
You may use art paper witch you don't neet to "size" it's a thicker and shrinken paper (at the factory). I prefere high quality colored pencils: not so expensive, easy to use ...
I'm taking a watercolor class at university. And they tell us to soak both sides of the paper to reduce buckling, however that's just for watercolor paper. I'm not sure about other papers, especially if it's a thin one like she used in the video.
Here’s a tip: use a watercolor brush with only water on it to blend out the crayola. Because they’re water based, they will basically turn into watercolor.
your so good at shading and drawing, my friend told me to search up this channel and I did! I was so jealous XD, keep your work going! Loving your videos so far!!
Xamz Pvp when I first read this I thought you were a triggered nine year old till I read the bottom part lol but if you were being serious I would have simply commented SPEECH 100 As to reference a meme
The way you have blended is really tricky for a lot of people and making markers work well with thin paper and blending them with thin paper well is a difficult task which means you have definitely proved to your haters and fans you are an amazing artist. You are fantastic with colouring too. I hope this channel grows and we can all be one big TH-cam family!! 😆😆😁😁
Honestly it doesn’t matter what brand it is in my opinion. It’s your skill level! The one she colored with the crayola markers is a perfect example of this!
Try to review TouchFive markers. They are really good markers and I think u should do TouchFive vs Copic markers! Btw love the copic picture one with ur picture. So adorable!
YASS!! I HAD TO SEE THIS BECAUSE IT KEPT POPPING UP IN MY RECOMMENDED SECTION!! I CAN'T BELIEVE I IGNORED IT THIS WHOLE TIME! ALMOST TO A MILLION VIEWS! I LOVE THE ART!! CONGRATULATIONS! YOU DESERVE MORE SUPPORTERS 👍❤😍💎
If you use something like a Pentel Aquabrush as a blending tool, and also use thicker paper like sketch paper, you can actually get results from Crayola markers that are just as good. It definitely takes practice, but you really can make them look just as good with the right tools and techniques
so basically if youre good at art you dont need special materials, but it can look better with them depending on the person. my friend who's good at art bought copics, but it looked worse...? so she gave them to me...
Honestly, it all depends on what the artist trained with and what medium they're most comfortable using. Myself, I learned to color with pencils, so I know most of the techniques of that medium to achieve desired results, even with something as low quality as a Dollar Tree 12-pack. On the other hand, when it comes to inks like gel pens or markers, I'm still a novice so when I use them it looks far more amateurish than my pencil work, even if I'm using top of the line pens. When it comes to any type of art, it's not the tools but the skill and talent of the person using the tools that makes the difference.
opinion only but $258 seems a little steep for something that only gives a slightly better definition. Yes I can indeed see a difference and the copic markers do look nice, but not $256 nicer. I'd be happy spending like $10 on them
They're mainly that expensive because of 3 things: A: They're not American. B: They're refillable C: They're alcohol based ink markers. Those make them a lot more expensive, especially since there's the business factor as well, supply and demand. If less people buy them, they lower the price. But since people like Copic markers and want more, they raise the price.
This video doesn’t demonstrate how much quicker and more user friendly copic markers are. On top of this she isn’t using all $258 worth of marker that’s just the price of a 72 set. Think of them as $3.50 markers vs $0.50. They are worth your money
Thank you so much for all of your support!! Info about my shop, Instagram, and supplies are in the video description :)

That being said, you're quite talented.
how does the paper shrink if you've stapled it to a board?
As it shrinks, it fights the staples holding it in place, so it's kind of like a piece of leather getting tighter as it dries. Once the paper is dry, and still held in place by the staples you can re-wet it with water colors or water based ink, and it won't buckle up. When you're done, you trim the stapled edges and have a nice flat piece of paper. Of course, the better the paper, the better the results.

Thanks for the tip!
I'm jelly of your shading, colouring, drawing
She sounds like mabel
i really love how you compared these markers, you gained a new sub!
Here’s a tip: use a watercolor brush with only water on it to blend out the crayola. Because they’re water based, they will basically turn into watercolor.
You have captured what I do on Christmas😂
Not really interested in art or anime and not sure how I ended up here but you did a good job of getting and keeping me interested good job.
Forest King then why are you here? =3
Tord Larsson because he was just looking at random videos you moron

Forest King Me 2
In my head, it makes sense that water base markers would blend like watercolor, but sadly no
it's like the difference between png and jpeg

You are my art inspiration and hero, I probably wouldn't have loved drawing as much if it wasn't for you 😍
The way you have blended is really tricky for a lot of people and making markers work well with thin paper and blending them with thin paper well is a difficult task which means you have definitely proved to your haters and fans you are an amazing artist. You are fantastic with colouring too. I hope this channel grows and we can all be one big TH-cam family!! 😆😆😁😁

I like the Copics version. Of the light it looks more happier.
Honestly it doesn’t matter what brand it is in my opinion. It’s your skill level! The one she colored with the crayola markers is a perfect example of this!
Awe,I have just fell in love with your vids
You are such a talented artist!

StoneyGames good because today's my birthday and the art that she made was amazing 😍❤
StoneyGames thanks! ❤
and from that day on they were best friends
If you use something like a Pentel Aquabrush as a blending tool, and also use thicker paper like sketch paper, you can actually get results from Crayola markers that are just as good. It definitely takes practice, but you really can make them look just as good with the right tools and techniques
Her neck tho
Lol
*imposibro distance*
@Meme Hirt *true*
Zippy Zoo, thats so true
Blue ;-; I agree
imo her hair in the Crayola drawing looks amazing and better than the other pic. it's reminiscent of almost like a 16 bit video game
Did you mean oml omg or omo?
Stephanie Balderas-Ruz imo stands for "in my opinion"
Oh ok lmao thanks
Stephanie Balderas-Ruz no problem mate
Nel Olson ikr its way better
so basically if youre good at art you dont need special materials, but it can look better with them depending on the person. my friend who's good at art bought copics, but it looked worse...? so she gave them to me...
Watching you color is satisfying thank you for existing
I liked the copic better but miku's hair with the darker tint in the crayola one is better.
I wish someone would love me as much as Apple minte loves alcohol based markers
Like jaiden animations and half popped pocorn.
sad.
1 like + 1 person to be loved by
I love hatsune Miku more than you can ever know so this is just amazing to see

98763 don't agree
Nope
CONGRATS APPLE MINT YOU JUST GOT A LOYAL SUB!!! thank you for the amazing videos 😃
reaperwolf 7 thank you for subbing!!
opinion only but $258 seems a little steep for something that only gives a slightly better definition. Yes I can indeed see a difference and the copic markers do look nice, but not $256 nicer. I'd be happy spending like $10 on them
yug0w0lf but remember that they have an entirely different base. That's why they're more expensive in the first place.
258 is still very expensive though.
as i said, id be happy spending like $10
They're mainly that expensive because of 3 things:
A: They're not American.
B: They're refillable
C: They're alcohol based ink markers.
Wow, the copic looks sooooo much better!
With crayola or not...YOU R SO FOOD AT COLORING
