The first schot was actually bad. The hunters call it sharpshot, because it was just hitting the spinous process an the spine. Because that happend, the deer was putting up his head again. He would have run away if he didnt take the second shot. And the second shot was a normal heart shot, which is perfect for the meat, but not perfect to end the suffering of an animal.
if you think that animal didnt suffer at all your very mistaken i dont mind hunting at all its a thing that happens naturally but that animal did suffer its like if you got shot in the back of the neck and then in the spine lol you would suffer.
Hey. I would love to come out with you guys one day. It would be an amazing experience, even if I only got to set up the tents. The knowledge that you guys have is insane and something I wish to have one day.
One of your best videos I think, your knowledge and the way you pass it on is fantastic...Joe I'm kinda in the game and your video footage in my opinion is world class congratulations. Finally to see that stag hanging off the rope under the helicopter at the end was classic, thank you...Milt in Australia.
Yes boys! That one had it all. Didn't see that ending coming, bloody handy resource to have and no waste! Great shooting JE, went to sleep and never woke up.
I don't know how I got here and I'm not super interested in hunting really. However, seeing the wilderness of NZ, the locations and camera shots are incredible! Whatever microphone you use really feels like I'm there. The process you describe, the frustrations, the patience, the stalking, your thought process and problem solving sucked me in. It's really intense! I'm also super glad that the animals are used and not wasted. Plus you're a phenomenal shot dude! You've earned a subber here!
Hey Joe, good tip on the binos. I will also sometimes hook my index fingers over the brim of my hat in high winds. Keeps your binos steady and the hat on your head.
Spectacular hunt. Right when I was thinking “Ok, now is when the real work begins”. You opted to send the stag out via airmail! Work smarter, not harder 🤙🏼
Hey mate, been absolutely loving your videos. I have never been on a proper hunt in NZ. Always dreamed of it. My grandfather was a professional hunter in Zimbabwe, and I never went out with him before we had to pack up and leave everything... So going for a hunt would help me appreciate what he did now that he is gone. Love your kingy videos as well mate they are some of the most polished videos out there!
Hey Marc, my story is also very similar to yours my uncle was too a professional hunter in Zimbabwe have also missed out on going hunting over there for the same reason. Would be amazing if JE wilds could take us both out! Would be awesome to meet you aswell. Have been watching this channel for ages and cant wait to get started doing this myself :)
Also add to your comment of the elbows locked into the Knees. Always wear a Cap. And use a finger or 2 on each side to hold binos more steady against your cap as when you turn and look the binos follow
Nice stalk, it’s just a bit odd for a European hunter to see a sleeping animal being shot. We don’t do that here in Austria/Germany. Other than that awesome video.
Watching the video, I thought the same thing. Seems a bit less of a hunt when the poor bugger is sleeping. Way better than hopping over to the local Aldi, but still...
I’m keen to be a tent setter upperer I’m 15 years old and I love hunting and I have never been In the mountains, Mainly just out the back of my family’s farm in the north island for some pigs It would be awesome if I could come out with you guys to gain some of your guys knowledge and expertise
Slick video chaps. The more we see, the more respect we have for those amazing animals that live up in those conditions, sleeping in the snow like just another day at the office. I'm stuck at home with the dirty old covid, so these vids are my sanity restorers. Thanks.
Glad you guys are back. What a hunt. How good was that Episode 👍 felt like a 2min video u got me in good and that lift out was next level. Good plug for the chopper pilot. 👍👍 Keep them coming love your work.

I want to hunt with you!!! But I live in USA and I don't have the money for a flight to New Zealand. I've always wanted to go. But I'm 13 years old and my dad said I would need my mom to come with me.
What an amazing shot, no suffering to the animal, at all! What a good hunter and shooter! Greetings from Brazil bud!
