Well, actually yours has a problem. When you run the re-initialision as you showed, it's should finnish in about 20 seconds. The LEDs will stop flashing intermittently if everything is fine, otherwise it will try to reset itself forever. Broken actuator arm was the problem on a w203 that I've fixed today, but not heat conning out from middle or bottom vents. Only heat is conning from underneath the windscreen when it's on defrost.
This one did eventually reset after a few shots . A neighbour bought it from me over 4 years ago and its still working . He hasn;t washed or vacuumed it ..ever . But it's still going . Appreciate the info . Thanks
I recently bought a C180 2001 that is generally in excellent shape and runs well. However it has one annoying problem. Whatever I do the AC will always run regardless if in EC mode or anything else. The only time the AC compressor turns off is when I set the fan to 0. But it is getting winter soon and I need the car to heat. I suspect it is some faulty temperature sensor. I even tried to disconnect the AC fuse 41 and 51 but that completely turns off the control module. Any advise I would highly appreciate!
I had my c230 2003, my middle vent are not working while other vents are working fine. when i reset , the middle works, but when i stop reseting the middle vents stop. Any advise?
Hi, need some help here... i have trouble with Mercedes W203 C320.. When AC turn on, Blower off and Compressor On. a few minute later, Blower on and compressor on. After a few minute again, then compresor off and blower still on. Blower have 4 Pin, i measure and its good (1 Pin to Ground, 1 Pin to Interior Fuse, 2 Pin to Module). I measure compressor and its good too. Then i scan it, i get : 1. B1548 Component M2/15 (Left and right footwell flaps actuator) is stiff or blocked 2. B1205 Refrigent pressure too low 3. B1000 the control unit faulty can help me what i must check next ?
Cool tip! What purpose does the middle wheel with the blue on it serve? I believe it lets air in from outside but why would you use this? Would make air con or heater less effective. And there's already an air circ button.
Changed my climate control panel from climatic to digital klimatronik panel and it was blowing just hot air . i did this climate reset and now works like it should . car is a w203 3 liter diesel facelift 2006 . Thanks
I congratulate you for the video, and the information you provide to all interested parties on the topic Mercedes Class "C". I have an additional question for you. Maybe you can help me. What is the Procedure (step by step) and Keys to press, to perform the Self-Diagnosis in the Air Conditioning Console? So, you can get the data in real time, and fault codes.
There is only an engineering menu if you have the digital version on your w203 . If you have the digital display th-cam.com/video/BKIlRAzUVOs/w-d-xo.html&vl=en
thanks for the video...i have the same problem with my w203 ...do the left and right temperature buttons need to be on 22 and what about the blower speed?
+zargham khan you don't need to set them to any setting,, just push the 2 buttons until they blink back and forth and the climate unit will reset. If you still have problems with air distribution, there may be a broken vent actuator or possibly a vacuum issue. If this reset doesn't help you may need to get the codes scanned to pinpoint the problem
+fupabox thanks for the info ..I tried bit still no air in bottom vents under dash...I guess they are broken or stuck because I can hear click sounds... will check it by mechanic
+fupabox thanks ... I did as you said ..left it for 5 minutes.. but still no air in bottom vents under dash... I guess the flaps are stuck or broken because it makes click sound for few seconds everytime I turn on ignition...
zargham khan yeah the clicking is a sign of broken plastic flap actuator arms..the parts are cheap but replacing them is a pretty involved job. I think I saw a write up on MBworld about it
I'm having a clicking noise come on in the dash every time I start the car (2004 c240) and will only last less than a minute. I've done some research and it may have a failing broken stepper motor lever or the footwell damper linkage. OR after seeing this video, it could be the vent flap is sticking? Has anyone had this clicking noise? Could it be just the air vents sticking?
when the clicking starts , immediately change the temp setting (lower or higher doesn't matter, just change it by around 10 degrees) if the clicking stops ,then one of the blend doors is sticking ..changing from the hottest setting to the coldest a few times (leave in each setting for about a minute) then change the vent selector from feet ,to defrost to vent etc. again a few times for a minute each.. it should loosen/unstick the vent actuator.
there is a stepper motor that opens and closes the flaps. It can break after years of opening and closing . You can get to it by removing the centre console and middle dash surround ( the one with the stereo and ac unit inside ) . Then you should be able to remove and replace the dash vent flap motor . If the reset soesn't work , replacing the stepper motor is the only option. .
hi i dont understand i have an problem ac to my mercedes clK and he do the same but not fresh air what can i do ? im french i dont understand very well
I just bought a 2001 C180. Car runs very nice but I discovered that the AC doesn't turn off except when I turn off the fan on the climate control. It can actually feel the compressor turn off that way. It is quiet annoying because it is cold in the car all the time if I use the fan. And the car uses more fuel. I would suspect some sensor maybe air temperature sensor etc to be the culprit. I don't want to take the car to a shop. For any information I would be highly grateful.
Freed-up the Right Footwell on my 2004 W209 CLK500... feet weren't getting any air on passenger side previously. Different looking panel but same buttons. Thanks much!
did you check the 13 pin connector at the front of the tranny ? It causes quite a few issues , abs sensor issues will also cause a limp mode activation.since they provide road speed information to the transmission ECU.. did you unhook the negative battery terminal for an hour (no key in ignition when unhooking neg battery cable , or rehooking it up)
fupabox I have a 2002 c240 and the EC light won't turn off. my air conditioning won't work anymore. I've tried everything to fix it but nothing works. I really don't want to take it to the dealership. they charge to much
The EC light staying lit is an indication of a failure in the A/C system.. Likely causes are pressure switch, low refrigerant level, or compressor..The other possibility is a malfunctioning EC button.. start the car , and see if the compressor clutch is engaged when the engine is running ..you've likely already done this , but just in case... You can tell the clutch is engaged if the metal plate on the very front is turning with the belt..if it isn't turning press the windshield defrost button and see if the compressor clutch engages. The compressor is engaged automatically when the windshield defrost is on. If it comes on with the defrost , the EC button is stuck ..if not , check the fuses (again you have likely checked them ) let me know what the outcome is and we can go from there..have yo tried re-charging ? also check the compressor relay
try this vent flap test . the heat on the w203 is controlled by flaps around the heater core . Does the temp gauge get to normal temperature ? if not the thermostat is likely stuck open and needs to be replaced
Tried the test, all seemed well - I could hear the air circulating through the various vents... but unfortunately the heater still will not produce any warm air at all, even on EC. Bliddy freezing! I must have a broken flap rather than one that is stuck? Engine temp = 80 deg C by the way.
that sucks .. heat blend door likely stuck ..Wait 80c engine temp is too low.. possibly the thermostat not opening .. feel the heater hoses from the engine back into the firewall ..they should feel hot once engine warmed up . also check AUX coolant pump wiring on side of coolant overflow bottle
Now here's a good TRY THIS if all else fails video? I may try that in my useless automatic controller system that has NO booster controller for the fan ..? Nor a manual selector for flaps? This may fix the screwed up auto (no heat) heater system?

thank you mate, that was my way of thinking as well. But yesterday, my mechanic told me otherwise, because when tge EC button was lit, compressor was spinning by his words. where can i locate the compressor ubder the hood? ☺
at the bottom of the pulley system you will have the alternator on the one side crankshaft in the middle and the other side is the a/c compressor.. the compressor is in 2 parts... the pulley always spins with the rest of the accessories attached to the belt.. when you activate the a/c the front part of the pulley on the compressor will lock together with the normally spinning part. The a/c will come on even if the ec button is lit ,,IF, the front defroster is selected with the dial... if the dial is in the windshield defrost position, then the compressor will come on regardless of the ec switch ( it does this to more quickly clear the windshield because conditioned air is dryer )
This worked a treat, my foot vents weren’t working and now with this simple trick it’s working as it should , massive thank you 😁 CLC 180
Nice trick! This also works on the G500 models that use that same panel (from 2002 onwards for a few years). Thanks for posting it.

Hey do you know what the vent dial (the things that open and close the vents) the one in the middle with the blue on it. Do you know what that's for?
the centre vents are a/c or fresh air only . you can adjust how cold it blows up there with the blue wheel
@@fupabox but heat comes out of the center vents too doesn't it?
If all is correct the test will finish on its own.
If there is still a fault it will not stop and require you to switch engine off.
I tried it, and works! But it blows air to the feets, only in this test mode. Do you know why?
