Holy cow, I'm no pro but if you'd told me that half of those intro shots were taken with a Rioch GR III I wouldn't have even questioned it. Really incredible what you managed to make with such a dated camera. Really just more proof that at least 90% of image making is user skill. Thank you for sharing!
Hardly a skill, just typical early 00s CCD look. Very contrasty with strongly saturated, but not clipping colors, perhaps a random tinges, blooming, a bit of low megapixel softness.
Back then, I'm really guilty of looking down on these digicam because I just don't know better. But after years into the hobby, I just realized that it has more to do with person pressing the shutter button regardless of the camera on hand.
I've owned a lot of digicams but the l1 is my favourite because of the reasons you explained:-) it also has a good black and white mode and also black and white video :-) great video
Short answer is probably awfully. I’ve been fiddling with these kinds of old digital cameras from the 2000s and their performance TANKS in anything less than pure daylight. Tripods help, but abysmal shutter speeds ruin any kind of sharpness of any moving subjects regardless of how still you hold the camera.

the ricoh gr iii is that underwhelming huh?
Picture quality is 70% ambient lighting 20% post processing. 10% lens.
We have been fooled by the ads for too long.
If I was told it was taken with phone from 2014 I wouldn't question it

Those images look like they came out of a much more expensive camera, well done! 👍
The style of these vids, with the descriptions ans information on screen is perfect. Very fresh in approach.

@@kaipinkman I bought one & for the images that come out of this camera, I love it! Best part about this little camera is that it’s unobtrusive.
