I rarely see violinist dare to demonstrate their scale practice. This is very brave and also it’s done perfectly.

Completely agree. I love hearing and seeing people practicing, and it's such a relatable thing to see; it humanizes that no matter how advanced the pros are, they practice too.
I'd love to be able to do this someday, I've only just started self teaching though by ear 4 years ag. Eek!
I'm looking to get a more formalized practicing routine soon, but I'm seeking books right now haha
      Do you play, too?
Just had to say that I enjoyed your comment ☺

I have never left first or second position for scales. Someday, I hope to achieve even 1/10th of your ability in doing practices like the ones you did here 😁

Even still, I think pros and very very good ones like Florin can still take some time to get these as perfect as you just heard. So many techniques and difficult spots for intonation! I can imagine recording the whole book would be an incredibly difficult endeavor.

It is not necessary to be able to play difficult techniques to make good music.
Every violinist, at every level of expertise, will find massive peaks which are yet to be unconquered.
Scales are an indispensable component of our armamentarium. they must be practiced every day and the keys must also be changed daily and be able to transpose the fundamentals in all the 24 keys.
Do not play something which is beyond your capacity. You will pick up bad habits which will plague you for the rest of your life.
True artistic realisation is freedom from all systems including this scale system of Flesch. That is of course a very tall order and I can think of no violinist except maybe Ernst or Paganini who would fit that description!
Play whatever you can but put your soul in your work and make the wood cry!
      Good luck!

Hi Natalie, i think he did not see the edition on your comment so he might not recommend any violin learning books. I am no professional but Suzuki violin book 1 and A PRACTICAL METHOD FOR VIOLIN - Vol. 1 - Nicolas Laoureux are good books to start. There are many videos in youtube going step by step on each lesson of these books.
Since you are learning, do not overthink which string to buy. Buy a cheap one and keep it for as long as it sounds ''ok''. When you feel like you learned enough to sound good, you can try some Evah Pirazzi (a lit expensive, but very very good strings).
Good luck learning the violin, keep studying and have fun!

Haha that looks so easy when you play it ! But even just reading the sheet give me headaches ! I'm pretty sure you struggled a lot with those, in the past, and that's the result of years of practice, but yes, i'm a little bit jealous :D Good work ! I love watching your videos, great style, dynamics, phrasing and you always seems to enjoy what you are doing. The first time i've seen you was in your Leclair Duet with Gil Shaham and it was so refreshing to see just two people playing and smiling and enjoying the moment event if the piece is not a technical one.
I'm always asking myself if those kind of exercices, or the Dont caprices for example, can be shot in one or two takes, or you have to take your time beforce having them right even at your playing level ?

    • @floriniliescu
      @floriniliescu  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

Thank you very much! I'm happy to hear it! I try to practice this scale in different keys every day, it really helps developing the technique. I recorded it for about 20 minutes, but if it doesn't work sometimes,I had to repeat it some passages. But what I find helpful is to remain as musical as possible despite difficulties and to relax at the same time. I think tension can lead to pain over time. So I recommend staying relaxed and activating the ears while playing😃🎻
