No need to hate on her friend. He isn't a competitive eater and is doing his best. I applaud the guy for stepping his game up! In the end it's about having fun.
Beginners most of the time get over anxious and what usually happens is that their tongues acually push to the back of their throats and therefore making them push the food out instead of sucking the food down. You hear him mentioning to Raina that he knows that he should just take it easy.
I thought I could swallow a burger down my throat . Instead the opposite happens . I actually ate the burger quicker in a relaxed state with no timer .
That's how all competitive eaters start.. by trying.

I'm not a competitive eater like Raina. Found it out with the Krispy Kreme challenge here in NC (dozen doughnuts) but I enjoyed every bite and the experience of saying I finished the challenge. That's what matters that you tried, completed it and have a memory. Lucky you even have Raina 😍 with you. Good job.
Leave her friend alone, obviously he isn’t a competitive eater. If he was she would have mentioned it. He did good for not being used to eating like that!
For your friends first challenge, he tried. Raina I like to see you encouraging others and "eating the bulk" to let him get his first win. You are such a positive person and that's why I watch you.
Everyone complaining about the guy needs to stop! He is clearly her friend and SHE wanted him to be there! ANYONE including all you complaining would be just as bad eating that fast! It was his first time. You don't get good at this overnight! 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Couldn't agree more. Raina is such a happy and giving person, she is helping this guy get his "feet wet". I think we all knew Raina could handle that burrito by herself, but she is helping and mentoring this newbie. Good for you Raina because you were once a newbie too!

Great job & congrats for completing the challenge. You could've eaten the entire burrito by yourself, but you decided to have your friend Nathan join you. So, please don't let others keep bashing him. He did try & hopefully will improve.

Hey Rai, we all saw when they started the clock before telling you to start eating. That record and time is soo wrong. But I'm glad that crap didn't stop you from winning. I'm glad your friend was with you. Team work makes the dream work.
He put way too much rice. The weight hardly included any other toppings. Thumbs down on the preparation of the burrito. He said it usually take 6 scoopes of rice but put 5 and it weight 4lbs. The extra toppings added after it was grilled added to the weight.
