No need to be condescending... they are adults. Dont forget this is music from a previous generation, and theyre giving their honest in the moment reactions. They know how to google if they want to learn every detail of Madonna journey.
@ryankphd 😂🤣 No one's being condescending here. It's called adding insight. Saves people a trip to Google. Stop taking everything so personally. Calm the hell down.
I always put this song as an example of what makes Madonna Madonna - she pissed off everyone by doing what she wanted to do, and while everybody would be trying their best to warm up the image (which she actually did) she also made it clear with that song that "she will always do what she feels like doing".
Madonna at her most badass! Love the song and the video! So cleverly done with the choreography and using bondage to reflect the lyrics and Madonna feeling tied down and not able to express herself and being punished for it but with a wink and still haveing fun with this badass choreography. Simple video yet so effective.
Being put into a box. Struggling to get out of the box she's been put in. It's a brilliant video. Best line is, "would it sound better if I was a man?" Feminist anthem.
While this wasn't a big hit for Madonna, over the years it has become a huge classic. Madonna has performed this numerous times on tour and it's become a staple statement from her. The song is definitely a slap back to the media and her critics who went after her hard during the Erotica era. This song comes from the Bedtime Stories album, that followed up Erotica album and she decided to tone it down a bit, with earlier singles such as "Secret" and "Take a Bow". The album is much softer, very R&B and quite an underrated album. Her vocals are quite lovely on the album. As for Human Nature, the video was more popular than the song. But as mentioned, the song became a classic from her over the years and it's become staple song for her whole career.
Thats the point! This song was made to think (most of Madonna's song/videos are) and this is the first react these kids put some comments about what they react to. I hope the next Madonna's reactions would be like this and not only "thats nice" or "i like it" .
I recommend these Madonna songs: Crazy for you, Into the Groove, Live to tell, Express yourself, Cherish, Secret, Beautiful Stranger, and Don't Tell Me.
I love your reactions. This song is a response for what the media has to say about her, specially after the "Erotica era". Can't wait for your reaction to any of her "most political songs" she just did in Madame X album. Hugs from Buenos Aires.
Loved this song when it came out. I'd consider this part of the trip-hop genre. Brilliant and ahead of the masses sonically. Hard to believe it's over 30yo now and still making jaws drop. I've actually played this underrated gem in recent dj sets and am still amazed when the young folk ask me if this is new Madonna.
Keep doing what you’re doing and stick to your opinions! It’s perfectly normal not to like everything an artist does. Pay no mind to some of the bitter Madonna fans. Most of us are not like that. Anyway I love Human Nature and the song and video are a response to the enormous amount of vitriol Madonna received for doing the Sex book and Erotica album. I love that it’s delivered with a sense of humor.
Yeah. At the end she reaffirmed that she has “absolutely no regret”-that freedom of artistic expression is a right she’d champion against all the misogyny and bigotry she’s been subjected to as a female artist throughout her career.
The boxes are a metaphor to her telling us to think out of the box and explore and be adventurous. When I was young about your age that’s when erotica came out which was the first ever Madonna album I bought then have bought everyone since, even though she was mega famous and untouchable for 9 years prior to Erotica which blew my mind. Then in 1995 the album Bedtime Stories came out which this song is from. You are lucky to have songs and music videos like this, when I was young looking back 25 years we had nothing that shocked, provoked and told the truth about what sexuality meant and not to be shocked by it. All her music videos were tastefully and artistically done if we had no Madonna we probably more than likely still live in a prudent society.
This actually from the Bedtime Stories album, which aside from "Bedtime Story" was mostly R&B. This is the most "hip-hop" sounding song on the album. I would react to "Secret" next - it was the first single from the album and one of my favorite. I have a feeling you'll like it, as you might have guessed since I've suggested it many times!
"Human Nature" is an answer that Madonna gives to critics and all those who condemned her in the era of the Erotica album, and in that same era she released the book SEX where she shared her sexual fantasies and showed them through pictures.
They've seen parts of it, they don't want it on the channel which is fine. Madonna is much more than the few very sexual songs in the early 90s, i get that Human Nature makes complete sense if you have seen Erotica but it's also fine if they skip that and Justify My love and concentrate on all her other material, since that's not their taste for the channel :)
@German Morawski There's only two Madonna songs/ videos they will skip then anyway. I know her fans love those but she has so many more. I'm much more interested in a reaction to Secret now anyway :)
@@Marc-zi5cq OK. It's so simple: I stopped following the channel. I strongly recommend that they see Cinderella (more appropriate for the profile they chose).
G'day it's Steven from Down Under again It's been years since I've watched this video and thank you for your honest reactions. It's thought provoking and showing the strength and resilience of Madonna, she's always been an easy target for different reasons including being a strong woman that speaks her mind and now she's also dealing with "ageism" too. I'm a little disappointed in your comments regarding Erotica though, I would've enjoyed your opinions and thoughts, as intelligent young adults that love music your personal thoughts would've be interesting to hear, and in this day and age what was risque in the early nineties certainly is no more. I still love seeing Madonna make people blush. Her history is documented and her impact on todays girlies is why they can do what they do. But you can’t do Madonna reactions and suppress her artistry by not listening to erotica bc of ur viewers I mean be real about it. Your here for views. Don’t you want them?
React to Cherish!!! I which was filmed by Fashion Photographer Herb Ritts. Basically she convinced him to do it he told her he had never done a music video before, her response “well then you have two weeks to learn”. Cherish ended up being Herb’s first of many beautiful music videos in his career.
This is one of my favourite Madonna songs. This came after her Sex book and Erotica album that she got a lot of hate for. She was pushing woman being able to own their sexuality. I loved the R&B elements on this Bedtime Stories album
Great reaction! I saw this video as a child & distinctly remember my dad PRAISING Madonna! I would later quote these lyrics for my High School Senior portrait 👏🏾
The symbolism of them making her shut her legs. The entire thing is a statement on the Sex book backlash and even making fun of it. Jean-Baptiste Mondino did an amazing job with this video.
"Human Nature" only peaked #46 in US, mostly because media (and radios) were being critized by it and so radios did not played it. It did reach #02 in Billboard Dance Charts. In UK the song peaked #08 but in European Hot 100 only reached #39. "Erotica" peaked #03 in US and #03 in UK but it reached #01 for 3 weeks on European Hot 100 - you really must watched it the uncensored video!
I’ve been a fan for 40yrs and enjoyed your reaction. If you’re too timid to react to the Erotica video, maybe watch off camera and give your opinion in a separate video? It will make more sense why she had to put out this song, but also show you how fearless Madonna has always been in her work.
The song could grow on you. You might be surprised if you were to listen a few more times. The song itself has a pretty easy groove that's an unobtrusive listen, and it's definitely overshadowed by the bold attitude and starkness of the video. This song takes me back to my high school years, and despite those years being a nightmare for me, I always enjoyed the song and its sound is nostalgic for me. To me, this was the middle of Madonna's era of superior artistry-Like a Prayer to Vogue to this Bedtime Stories era when she really perfected repackaging herself, including as a talented vocalist, and then this shock-and-awe period of hers was followed by the thoughtful and dignified Evita and Ray of Light. After that, her music began to lose its magic for me, but Human Nature remains an intriguing standout even among her catalog of hits.
This song and video are so strong and one of my favorites! Madonna at her best with her F*** you attitude. It's the message and the choreo which makes it. Love the musicality of it too, but that is all a matter of taste and you have to see it in the context of the heavily RnB driven era the nineties at that point was. This song is from 'Bedtime stories', which came out after 'Erotica' and it's all about the backlash she got.
Bedtime Stories is my favourite Madonna album. It was always the one I listened to the most. It's my Sanctuary, whenever I need some peace of mind, travel in my thoughts or just relax. I love every song on this album without exception, but my heart beats faster in the quartet Forbidden Love, Love Tried to Welcome Me, Sanctuary and Bedtime Story. It was such an underrated album.
Bedtimes Stories is one of her best albums and one of the greatest one from the 90s. She did R&B, hip-hop, trap, funk, soul, and even electronica in this record.
The video was directed by John-Babtiste Mondino, who did Open Your Heart and Justify My Love. It was choreographed by Jamie King who ended up being her tour director for her major stadium tours. He is the one hanging upside down from the trapeze The choreography reflected being restrained and put in a box for expressing her ideas and was a response to the backlash from her SEX book.
You should react to Erotica video and you'll understand everything about this song and video. I really enjoy your reactions...! Greetings from Buenos Aires...!
Please, please, please react to Madonna's This Use to be My Playground. Absolutely, absolutey beautiful song and video. It is from the movie, A League of Their Own starring Madonna, Tom Hanks, Rosie O'Donnel, Genna Davis and more! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤❤❤❤❤
When the video come out in 1995 I loved it instantly & the sound. In those days it was a new & fresh/different thing plus it was her middle finger to all the haters/old men. Quite a statement in the mid 90s. Of course nowadays it sounds like we all heard it before, keep in it was the 90s. For me Human Nature is a 10 forever.
This was a huge song when it came out. She was going the R&B route for that particular album only. It’s a great song though, amazing message, awesome video.
Madonna's trajectory is very interesting, she wanted to pursue a dance career and through a boyfriend she embarked on the path of music! She went through difficulties, without money! Beauty, talent, courage and determination led her to be the greatest artist of all time, an icon, a pop legend, queen! The trajectory of this great artist is fantastic!
I thought you’d eat this up! It’s Deffo one of my favorite videos. She is so whip smart as an artist. Who else could go from M being tossed around on a rope and nailing it to her dancers throwing themselves in an actual box. I think that’s the whole point, put me in a box and she’s out of here. Also, “I’m not your bitch, don’t hang your shit on me.” I’ve had to wield that about across the years.
Yeah the channel couldn't handle "Erotica" or "Justify My Love" ,...those videos and content of songs are definitely quite "wild" (as Tyler put it lol) But y'all should really really really check out "Fever" the video is AMAZING and the song is amazing especially since the song is almost 65 yrs old (well 45 yrs when she did it).
Mmmm she was aping the fuck out of Bjork and Tricky's sound during this time lol. Despite that this track stands on it's own and doesn't need your hyperbole.
I'm 52 and I've been a Madonna fan since 1985. When the album Bedtime Stories came out in 1994 and this video i was like unsure. I remember thinking Madonna, what are you doing? First of all this album had a big Janet Jackson influence and then this video with the cornrows. The only song I really liked from that album was the title track Bedtime Story. It was co-written by Bjork and it definitely gave the vibe of her next sound electronic -techno. By the way the cornrows in this video didn't help my opinion of her at this time.
This song was in response of the backlash she received in 1992 after publishing an erotic coffee table book titled Sex, with pics of her living out her erotic fantasies. The same year she released Erotica, a raunchy album that costed her a lot in terms of popularity.
Madonna brought the haters to their knees in the 80's and 90's...she gave the big middle finger though with this track, and my respect to her that she NEVER went back on what she said, and stuck by all of it!
This was her most self referencing song to that date (Express Yourself, SEX), as well as a very pointed "fvck you" to those who'd tried to put her in a box, which she literally portrays in the video. This album's opening track "Survival" begins with that theme, "Take a Bow" aside, the standout track on Bedtime Stories is "Secret".
Sorry friends, I appreciate this journey, but you’ll never respect this song or discover the true joy and energy of it, until you review the evolution of Madonna’s early 90s sexual revolution, beginning with Express Yourself, the film Truth or Dare, Justify my Love, and the Erotica album. Her discography, videography and visual media - the Sex book, were a mini sexual revolution in the early 90s. She suffered major media backlash…and this happened before the advent of the internet or social media. Her influence on women in music, whether identified or not, is still felt today. Unfortunately, most current music artists don’t know the inroads Madonna created or just how influential she is to their journey. This song is an ICONIC clap back at the critics that shamed her. One of the original clap backs! Not to mention, this video is 🔥- almost 30 years later.
This is one of my favourite '90s Madonna songs, but I think it's one that may not resonate as strongly without knowing the context. In the span of about four months, Madonna had released the 'Erotica' album and music video, her Sex book, and starred in the erotic thriller Body of Evidence. All of these projects really pushed the envelope during a more conservative time, and Madonna faced a backlash unlike any of her previous controversies. At the time, she was literally the most vilified woman in the entertainment industry. The general public thought she'd finally gone too far, she was relentlessly attacked by the media, the music video got banned by MTV, the film flopped, and the album sold significantly less than her four previous studio records. At the time, it really seemed like her career would not fully recover. She mostly toned down her image on her next album and was able to win a lot of the public over again with songs like "Take a Bow", which became her longest-running No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100. She couldn't resist responding to her critics and the backlash she had weathered, though, and while this song felt a little out of place on the record due to its tone, I think she made a lot of good points, particularly how she wouldn't have faced the same level of vitriol if she were a man talking about the same subjects and how women should not be shamed for discussing or exploring their sexuality. On the bright side, the 'Erotica' album has had something of a critical reassessment in recent years and it's now generally regarded as one of her finest.
This video is an ironic reaction to the backlash she recieved a few years ago for her EROTICA video. You must watch it to understand. I love to see you both reacting on your Madonna´s journey. Cheers from argentina
This was a clap-back to backlash over the SEX book & Erotica album & Body Of Evidence (the movie). If you’re too afraid to react to the uncensored version of “Erotica”, you could always do the clean version??
that was my face too when i saw for the very first time this video in the 1998 (ray of light give her a real worldwide comeback so there i saw for the first time her's bedtime stories and erotica videos era
@@TylerCreatesContent let’s just say the ‘TLC’ type crowd we’re not into Madonna… but this song, if you take away the music video and maybe lyrics has a more street cred type of sound to the music… it could be a TLC song… (I am using TLC as an example of a general attitude of people in the 90’s where it was cool to be into more r and b - which Madonna is trying to imitate musically with the music in this song)… it wasn’t actually that cool to be into Madonna in the mid nineties… but this song always appealed to the people who generally was not into or even disliked Madonna… they always liked this song… that’s the thing with Madonna even when she wasn’t ‘as’ cool she still made great songs so it carried her through
How interesting though that you’re reacting to a song where Madonna’s defending herself for her artistic expression through her Erotica/Sex book era, and she’s literally sticking two fingers up to the world, and yet even in 2022 you’re still not wanting to react to Erotica incase you get some flack through TH-cam or be “Canceled” (I hate that childish expression!!) We’ve come so far, yet still have a long way to go. I say you should react to Erotica and let the world know that you’re not sorry either!!
your face during this whole video 🤣🤣🤣 It's a shame you're no into the" Wild stuff," because Madonna is all about that. If you ever wanna die on screen (performer joke), watch "Justify my love".
I didn't follow her career in a linear way, because I wasn't around lol So I listented to this song in a random way and I liked it. Then I knew it was about her Erotica era and the lyrics are very "oh, of course" lol Loves it
This was a response to the double whammy in 1992 of the SEX book and the EROTICA album -- which were all about Madonna going down th dark labyrinth of her sexual fantasies. She was pushing it, and she was provoking her critics - particularly the men (and women) who felt that women shouldn't say or think or feel things about sex, or express their fantasies or feelings. The whole thing -- and I'm almost neglecting to mention her role in the film BODY OF EVIDENCE, which was another sexed up Basic Instinct-ish riff -- was too much for 1990s America, and she was relentlessly attacked in the press. It had a huge impact on her. And Bedtime Stories was alertly a turn away from that whole sexed up thing. It's a more conventional album than Erotica, but still really good. But Human Nature was the one middle finger in that album to her critics and it's a doozy. I don't think you kids are giving it it's due. It's a great song.
the dog was her own at the time it was on set they just used it in the footage as it was cute not planned and smartly used as the song as a big FU to critics to this shows her playful side and like you didn't break me i still have a sense of humor.
Kids, they tried to cancel Madonna dozens of times a decade and they couldn’t take her down. This was an R&B record. And the choreo was brilliant.
No need to be condescending... they are adults. Dont forget this is music from a previous generation, and theyre giving their honest in the moment reactions. They know how to google if they want to learn every detail of Madonna journey.

If you had to choose one Madonna song to represent her entire attitude, it would be this one or Don't Tell Me (and this is the better of the two IMO)
Madonna at her most badass! Love the song and the video! So cleverly done with the choreography and using bondage to reflect the lyrics and Madonna feeling tied down and not able to express herself and being punished for it but with a wink and still haveing fun with this badass choreography. I love that Madonna is still shocking the youth! You guys are fun! 🙏🏼

She's not for the kiddies folks. but once you follow her career and get context for her work - you really see she's an artist.
It’s a 10 from me, the message, the musicality, the imaging. Pure perfection
Your reaction (faces) are priceless!! Madonna is the queen!!!! this is her response to her David Letterman show/guest
*Great reaction Kidz ok next pronto please react to OPEN YOUR HEART its a great track with a sizzling music video and Madonna was dancing with a kid*
This song is considered a masterpiece by many critics especially for its message and for introducing a unique sound way before it's time.
Mmmm she was aping the fuck out of Bjork and Tricky's sound during this time lol. Despite that this track stands on it's own and doesn't need your hyperbole.
I actually love this video and song from Madonna..so creative and brilliant, I feel like it's her response to Michael and Janet's video Scream.
The word that was bleeped out was don’t hang your sh@t on me. Rhymes with it 😂
I'm 52 and I've been a Madonna fan since 1985.
The official video of Erotica is censored and you can do a react. It’s not explicit like “justify my love”.
Madonna brought the haters to their knees in the 80's and 90's...she gave the big middle finger though with this track, and my respect to her that she NEVER went back on what she said, and stuck by all of it!
React to her video Live To Tell, you'll love the song. It's a ballad and soundtrack of the movie At Close Range, starring her ex-husband Sean Penn.
Madonna sampled the beat from the hit “Electric Relaxation” by the LEGENDARY hip hop group ‘A Tribe Called Quest’.
Awww. Are yall from Utah?
Just guessing. But Madonna is great.
It's crazy to me that this tame video blew your mind.
fun fact: Her “cornrow” hair style was actually patent leather strips braided over her blonde hair.
Madonna é a melhor em todas décadas que ja passou!
They are hypnotized 🤣
Express yourself don't repress yourself 2:36
When You know the context of this song, after her erotica it hits so much harder :)
This video is an ironic reaction to the backlash she recieved a few years ago for her EROTICA video. You must watch it to understand. I love to see you both reacting on your Madonna´s journey. Cheers from argentina
By a few years ago...... you mean like 30? Lol
Thanks, Marissa! Thanks, Tyler! ⚫ #TylerCreatesContent #HumanNature #Madonna
Madonna numero 1 👍❤🔥
This was a clap-back to backlash over the SEX book & Erotica album & Body Of Evidence (the movie).
If you’re too afraid to react to the uncensored version of “Erotica”, you could always do the clean version??
this song is one of the forgotten gems of the 90s
This time, I agree with all that was said.
that was my face too when i saw for the very first time this video in the 1998 (ray of light give her a real worldwide comeback so there i saw for the first time her's bedtime stories and erotica videos era
Human nature is the non Madonna fans favourite Madonna song
i'm curious, why do you say that??
@@TylerCreatesContent let’s just say the ‘TLC’ type crowd we’re not into Madonna… but this song, if you take away the music video and maybe lyrics has a more street cred type of sound to the music… it could be a TLC song… (I am using TLC as an example of a general attitude of people in the 90’s where it was cool to be into more r and b - which Madonna is trying to imitate musically with the music in this song)… it wasn’t actually that cool to be into Madonna in the mid nineties… but this song always appealed to the people who generally was not into or even disliked Madonna… they always liked this song… that’s the thing with Madonna even when she wasn’t ‘as’ cool she still made great songs so it carried her through
You need to react to "Erotica" uncensored music video (from 1992). This video from 1995 was about media trying to cancel Madonna because of it.
It came from her r&b album bedtime stories
This was her response to the backlash she got about her Sex book basically 🤷🏽♂️😊
She did express herself 0:40 😊
How interesting though that you’re reacting to a song where Madonna’s defending herself for her artistic expression through her Erotica/Sex book era, and she’s literally sticking two fingers up to the world, and yet even in 2022 you’re still not wanting to react to Erotica incase you get some flack through TH-cam or be “Canceled” (I hate that childish expression!!) We’ve come so far, yet still have a long way to go. I say you should react to Erotica and let the world know that you’re not sorry either!!
favorite
your face during this whole video 🤣🤣🤣
It's a shame you're no into the" Wild stuff," because Madonna is all about that. If you ever wanna die on screen (performer joke), watch "Justify my love".
Please do Die Another Day, Sorry, American Life, Music, 4 Minutes, Jump, Get Together, Bitch I’m Madonna and Girl Gone Wild.
These two are learning one thing or two…
I doubt that. This reaction is so white american.
@@ceha9517 haha yup
Ela está querendo dizer para se expressar, não para se reprender! Não ficar preso! Tem que se soltar e ser quem você realmente é!
Please react to “I want you” by Madonna. The title might sound like it could be wild but it’s not.
Nice one, please try a couple of uplifting pop tunes from Madonna, beautiful stranger and give it to me would be fun for you to react to
I didn't follow her career in a linear way, because I wasn't around lol So I listented to this song in a random way and I liked it.
Awesome
the dog was her own at the time it was on set they just used it in the footage as it was cute not planned and smartly used as the song as a big FU to critics to this shows her playful side and like you didn't break me i still have a sense of humor.
Madonna's response to a continuous try through all these years to censor her and debase her existence and opinion on serious social issues! Love it!
