Hi Robin, it was really nice to look down memory lane in this Shutter Therapy Session. The image quality is very good and nice colours. Another positive video that you enjoyed doing and it shows. When you enjoy presenting these videos we viewers do as well. Nice one Robin, thank you. 😊
Hi Robin, I have the EP-5 and It's my favorite travel and family camera. It's actually the most reliable AF of my small collection. Another excellent compact EP model is the EPL-6, you've reviewed one of these iterations in the past. Great Video!!!
I love how you demonstrate how capable really old gear can be. I would really appreciate a video showing your image processing techniques, as your images are so outstanding.
I love ❤ that you bring history lessons about Olympus to us. I would lend some from my collection if I didn't live so long away from you. I have many of the legendary models from Olympus Flex until today OM-1. I lack the E-P3 and both generations of PEN-F and some more. I hope you find someone close to you so you can make more history lessons about our lovely camera brand. Thanks and take care. Let's do it 😉
There is only so much I can do, as these cameras are quite similar to each other. They do need to have a strong unique story, like the E-P3 having fast AF that changed mirrorless AF system, to be worth making a video about. Else it is just another camera.
The E-P3 was my second MFT camera. I still have it. It has become my dedicated camera for shooting black and white. Still fun to use after all these years
My first PEN 😍 This camera forever has special place in my heart. Through this camera I started to shoot more street, get to connect with Robin (Honetsly, I decided to get this camera after reading Robin Blog) and alot more people around. Still my favourite PEN till date.
What a pretty camera 🤩. I can see how much joy this camera brings to you, just by the way you talk about it. I think because it is a simpler tech, it allows playing with it more!
Personalmente me encanta y hace unos meses, puse en funcionamiento una unidad nueva que tenía reservada. Trabajar en B/N en esa cámara es fantástico. Me encanta 😊❤️
The EP1 opened my eyes to m43, replacing my Nikon and eventually leading to EM1X. But the EP series still has a place in my heart and captured many special photos for me.
Thanks for these retrospectives! Since we are pretty much have to go to the used market to get sexy cool enthusiast cameras. The 45mm you used is such a good lens, it shows the full image quality of the E-P3. The E-P3 was rated by DxO at the time as having the best dynamic range. I couldn't believe it myself. Also the E-P3 has a built-in flash, pretty rare for Olympus cameras.
I got. My first Olympus an EP-L3 and underwater housing to go to Chuuk Lagoon in 2012 great camera and the start of a M4/3 journey that is still going strong today.
I have the E-P5, I bought it the day it came out in Japan in 2013. I still use it. I love it. I still works fine. I'm considering buying a new body for a while. But I just can't find a model that I like 😕 I want to stay with the MFT. I know it's starting the age. But I'm just waiting. ..... 😁
I have to say I love mine. I have a black one sadly no grip. it has been my EDC It’s fun but a little challenging at the same time. LOL, Guess Im a PEN head cause this camera makes me want to go out and take photographs.
It is a shame that Olympus/OM discontinued the "Pen Lite" line of cameras. My E-PL 7 was my first Micro 43 camera. I still have it and use it. I have been tempted by the Lumix GM 1 but my E-PL 7 is almost as small and allows me to use an add-on EVF. So I will pass on the GM 1 for now.
Good video Robin. Love your attitude. Recently got an EPL2 and am enjoying it. It’s just a back up camera in my collection and the output is good enough for an everyday carry. Can you confirm if the EP3 has the same 6 art filters? Pop art, soft focus, grainy film, pin hole, diorama and dramatic tone? Do you ever find yourself reaching for these?
The E-P3 and some of the other PEN cameras (particularly the silver ones) have a certain style that is timeless. People pay tons of money for Leica M cameras (which have no autofocus at all) and do not care about the latest and greatest technology...
Hi Robin, I took out my old EP1 and started shooting. But all the photos result produced black images. The strange thing is when I shoot video, the video result was ok. I want to seek your advice if you know how to resolve this? Thank you.
My E-P3 still takes good images, but the "IS" has been flashing for a couple of years now. I take it that the image stabilization is gone. I decided to attach my least used lens, the 40-150mm. I do have good tripods.
Hello.. please I want to buy the the Lumix GH4 for photography and videography but all the reviews I see for this camera is for videography. I understand it's very good for videos and also shoots 4k but I want to know if it's also very good for photography because I will be using it more for photography. Please I am a beginner and I am on a tight budget so this is the camera I can afford and I chose it because of the 4k at that price range. Will you recommend it for photography?
Greetings Robin great video, it would be great I don't know if the video already exists that you try the 56mm F1.4 Sigma for MFT, I want a lens for headshots and I feel the 45mm falls short and the 75mm very long hehehe
The Sigma was designed for APSC not Micro Four Thirds, hence it is bigger and heavier than it should be, and not optimized to be used for Micro Four Thirds. I'd take 45mm and 75mm any day over the Sigma.
Where you find those deals? I monitor Carousell all the time and I did not seen any really "tasty" deals on old Pansonic/Oly cameras for half of the year at least. Pay RM750 for GF3 or 500 for for GF2 with broken door is too much for my taste...
On a note from an ep5 owner, iso 6400 is extended iso and does not do well at low shutter speed compared to newer OM cameras. It is okay outdoors though.
@robinwong you either need one or the other. I found out the hard way, my mistake and I will learn from it. That being said I love the form factor and I hope we get another pen camera with a view finder.
Too bad, Olympus released so many models of cameras that used the same resolution of image sensor. Otherwise, I would have purchased more than one camera from Olympus at that time.

E-P5 is a great camera, an upgraded E-P3 with tilt screen and 5-Axis IS, and new image sensor.
I love how you demonstrate how capable really old gear can be. I would really appreciate a video showing your image processing techniques, as your images are so outstanding.
Yes, old cameras are also awesome!
Great video Robin, think I'm going to buy one. Seriously thinking of going over to M43, think this will be a good one to try and get a pancake zoom.

Yeah the E-P3 is still so awesome today
I traded a Nikon FF lens for this camera on a whim 12 years ago. Been shooting MFT ever since. 😊
My first PEN 😍

Yah and I am lucky to find a great deal!
Nice to see Robin using the 17mm F/1.8 even tho it’s not his favourite. I was using it just yesterday in the forest with great results!
Still not my favourite.
Great video Robin! I have the E-PL7 and love it! It might not be the fanciest but so much fun to use!
E-PL7 is superior to the E-P3 in almost every way! Newer sensor, better image stabilization, faster AF, tilt screen, Live Composite, etc!
What a pretty camera 🤩. I can see how much joy this camera brings to you, just by the way you talk about it. I think because it is a simpler tech, it allows playing with it more!
Yeap, the E-P3 sure is a fun camera to use.

I wish OM Digital Solutions continues to make new PEN cameras
I'm still using this camera for street photography. The image quality is good and I love how I grip this camera.
Yeap, it is a great street camera

My first MFT body. I still use this as a backup body for my GX85 today
It is still an awesome camera

Me too
I have 2 of these...great camera
Awesome
Can you do a review with epl-2 😊
I still remember being impressed by my first E-PL5's autofocus. Jumping back to it now from OM-1ii is a painful reality check though :D
I'd take E-PL5's AF over OM-1
The E-P3 was my first Olympus and I adored the pictures. That color! But then it got water damaged =(.
Пора вже поставити якусь камеру собі в кишеню, поруч з телефоном для сценаріїв з зумом))
Нехай це буде ця e-p3, для початку😁

LOL, Guess Im a PEN head cause this camera makes me want to go out and take photographs.
That is the most important thing about the camera - makes you want to go out and shoot more.
Hi, could you adjust the settings in the camera to get a film feel?
Robin, whats your favorite olympus camera in regards to build quality and the filmic look in the images?
It is a shame that Olympus/OM discontinued the "Pen Lite" line of cameras. My E-PL 7 was my first Micro 43 camera. I still have it and use it. I have been tempted by the Lumix GM 1 but my E-PL 7 is almost as small and allows me to use an add-on EVF. So I will pass on the GM 1 for now.

I have sold off the E-P3. I don't use Art Filters.
if using yongnuo 25mm f1.7 .is it struggle to focus in low light..?
what len u use ?

It's missing the "since 1959" slogan that features on the E-P1 and E-P2 (and all other Olympus models) though, so it's not "like me" :-(
As long as the camera performs, I don't mind the branding or words
