I hope you watch till the end and join me in the conversation that I talk about at the end. I would love to hear your thoughts. Hello ♡ I've just found your channel and it's so exciting for me as you knit and crochet too! I watch lots of crocheters who make Amigurumis but found you through your book tag video and knowing you knit too is such fun! Knitting is my first love ♡ Have you ever tried the addi 20cm circulars for sock knitting? I use those as I don't have to look at my knitting at all and I can Knit EVERYWHERE so then socks magically grow whilst I'm out and about instead of me sitting down to purposely work on them. I love the space you have in the background too it's a beautiful collection. I also have lots of wips on the go at once, it's just fun isn't it. Nobody needs those kinds of rules 🤭 Can't wait to see how the squid comes out! Have a beautiful day xx
If I am being honest knitting has my heart too. I love crochet, don't get me wrong... but it will always be knitting for me. I am so grateful you found me too. I hopped over to your channel and threw a sub your way too.
Love your shawl! You know I make about two or three a month. I pretty much make very generic ones, though, and this pattern you are making from Bag-O-Day is gorgeous! Love the squid pattern and the yarn! Book looks so neat! Happy end of July! Stay dry as July ends in a wet note for our area! Hoping August will be a time of cooler summer weather, no tornadoes or hurricanes but good restful crafting time! I have a couple of fall projects in mind myself! Mine are wearable art ones. I also got some blush rose gold yarn that I want to crochet either a hexagon cardigan or a longer cardigan. Thinking of making it striped with white - similar to your thrift yarn! Great minds thinking alike! Anyway, happy last weekend in July! 😊
Happy July! We have gotten so much rain lately! It has rained almost every single day for several weeks now. I do not mind I love rainy days but it has made it hard to get a few things done. I love a good blush rose color. It is so delicate, soft and warm, I bet your make will be stunning in that. Hugs!
I definately need to be more mindful of my purchases! You are so right! I'm finishing up a Spa Set, Still working on the Tunisian Afghan, and I need to start my mother's racoon.
@@FreehandlyMadeAuCrochet it is hard, but doable. Things like Starbucks, bath and body works etc… all of that I have completely cut out. It has been two years since I bought either. Yarn is rarely bought and streamlined grocery list have been my norm for years not. It is so worth it though. I love raccoons 🦝!!
I totally get the budget thing. I stopped my yarn subscription and only buy when I have a project for the yarn. Since we just put an offer on a house and have to buy all the things for it...we REALLY need to watch our spending. I don't really care if YT'ers have a wall of yarn as their background or video from their living room. I just love seeing projects! Your squid is so much fun!
Same. I am not wanting to yarn shame anyone, I have bought a lot of yarn over the years myself. I have seen talk though where people are tired of seeing hauls and some love them. I think it’s all about perspective. I just know for my own perspective that my thought process on yarn has changed. I have zero regrets over my stash but I also purchased it with the intention of using it and I think for me, it is that time to do so.
My conversation as is spun mostly from things I have read on very very large Facebook groups. Where people are doing these insane hauls and then worry about bills. I think it easy to get swept into the “high” of the purchase after seeing hauls, but shopping can also become an addiction and one that can have some serious consequences.
@cocoscrochet6380 hello Litsa!! Thank you so much for visiting with me. I gratefully appreciate it and hope you have a wonderful weekend filled with yarn! 🧶
I'm trying to purge both other items and the craft items I bought thinking "Oh I'll do that one day." If it's not yarn related and I've had it more than a year I'm probably not going to do it. I have a smaller stash and I do use from it regularly. I don't buy now just because it's on sale. I purchase yarn when I don't have a color I need and I purchase when I have a particular project that I need large amounts for ( like the blankets I'm working on). I do have a few colors I need to replace and a few newer to me colors I'd like to buy, but I'm in no hurry. I am determined to remove any and everything I don't use in my daily life so my kids don't have to when I'm gone!
@@kkcrochet exactly this. As I age I realize that I do not want to leave a lot behind for my family to deal with. I have been detaching more and more. I am not to the point of the #swedishdesthcleaning yet, but I am getting more into that mindset as the years progress.

lol 😆 agree about the yarn but yea all the house stuff accumulates so fast. Every month I do mini purges and then every 6 months I go through every drawer… less stuff, less time loss managing said stuff and more time for yarn!
LOL We won't talk about my WIP pile. 🤦🤣 Hopefully I can get my office and yarn organized very soon so I can have a clear understanding of what all I have. I have a MASSIVE pile of projects bags. LOL I have figured that out

lol 😆 I am going to be honest a small part of me wants to have a yarn burning party to see what each of them do. Does that make me a bit odd? Yes! Is that ok? Completely! 😆 Seriously though, why are they called safety eyes if they are not safe! Why were the wiggle eyes, called wiggle eyes, if they don’t wiggle… what is wrong with these people!?! … what squid in the lake? Your comment is the perfect length. 🥰

I have missed all of y'all I am so excited to get back to crafting and creating content. How did you like this video? Did the screen jumps bother you? I am trying some editing techniques and would love feedback!
I liked your "new" edit.. is it easier for you? My stash has been collected over last 4 years from my forced retirement. At beginning of pandemic. I had major back surgery from an infection on my spine. Resulting in nerve damage to my legs.... I'm a mess ...
lol no, the new edit style is a lot more involved but I think I enjoy it more actually. I am so sorry about your back, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Are you happy about the retirement? I know many have mixed feeling about that. You do not have to answer that. I think either way it can be hard and also a blessing. Sometimes its hard to reason with the why it happens of life but at the same time, there is a new peace to be found in situations and new adventures of life waiting for us with new friendships to make along the way.
@yarning4asmile I have looked at it as ... This was my next step in life. With my father's Alzheimer's worsening and my mother-in-law's second bout of fighting colon cancer ... I need not have a job. I know I could do FMLA and all that ... I just need to be in place I am ... In this season of life. Soon my kids (I pray) will make me some grandkids. Shhhh ... They are both in their late 20's early 30's and I'm ready to be THAT GMA!!! LOL 🤣
lol 😆 I could pray for those babies too 😬 Being a grandma is an exciting thing! Seasons of life are something we all experience, but all with reason. 💕

So many brick and mortar stores have closed. So sad.😢 Really like the yarn color of your shawl.
Our area has had 6 close within a 2 hour drive!! That is crazy! It is so sad to see them close down. 😞
Working on the Annabelle Shawl by Bag o Day, and the reading Shawl by Ophelia talks. Love your projects. See us next time 😊
OOoo I need to look that one up! I may have to add it to my make list. I have seen the reading shawl, and it is lovely.
