- A messy basement can be really overwhelming. Stephanie had a room in her basement that was just a cluttered space, only being used for storage. I love the pegboard, the only thing I would change is putting it way lower, like the lower bit almost on the floor. They said the kid was 6 and the two adults were reaching to put stuff up there
I know, and that would have been ideal, but the space was very small and wouldn't fit it anywhere else.
Loved this! This episode made my day and made me laugh. The little house on the prairie dress with chickens outtake did it for me.

Love the makeover and foam crown moulding. When I want to get rid of something like clothes or decor that I am not quite ready, I use it 1 more time before donating. Love the idea of a photo shoot before donating. My mom is a seamtress and she made me lots of clothes that I donated once it didn’t serve me.

You can probably turn those dresses into a beautiful quilt! If you don't know how to do that you can have a professional quilter do it. It would be an amazing treasure!
The dresses weren't loved, they were simply held on to out of guilt. They've been passed on so someone else can love them.
I enjoy watching you two so much. You laugh so hard you just squeak, just like my Mom and I used to do all the time. You two have to find a way to work together once her house is finished.

When I was a kid my aunt had chickens and phaisants roaming freely and the chicks would peck the weak ones to the point of killing them.The adults would joined in. My aunt always tried to save the weak ones but sometimes it was too late. They were not starving so it's nature's way of removing the weak ones but it's still heartbreaking nonetheless.

Love this. My kids (ages 9,7,3,1,&NB) destroy every space they're in. We're moving (today!!) And this is some great inspiration for their new rooms! My son for sure needs a pegboard for his weaponry. 😄

Really loved this video, it brought some real laughter into something that could have been pretty traumatic for Stephanie because parting with things that were your families can make you feel really guilty.
This is why grandma's pass things on so they don't have to dispose of them.

I would love to see how the family reality lived with the new basement/laundry room one year later. Amy changes would be a a good reality check. Brainstorm: take a pic of where you hang the toys on the pegboard and place it on/next to the board for visual reference for your boy 😉 💕🎉

Wow you totally transform that dark and deary basement and opened it up to look bigger and brighter. You can tell on the kids faces they were so surprised. This is amazing how clean and organized this playroom turned out. My kids playroom is so overwhelming, to many dinosaurs, cars, and train tracks that my in law keeps getting them.
Have you talked with the in-laws about the gifts?
@@Clutterbug all the time, I even told them not to get some Specific brand of toy because I’m the one that end up putting all together for them and they only play with it for that day and then it just seats there collecting dust. it’s just a lost battle😫.
I just love you two! I think she should ruin somethig you did so you can do it again! I don’t want them to leave 😂😂😂😂. I love all of it! And the sight of you being shocked and or blown away by finding something or hearing something is by far the best laugh.

I liked how you used existing furniture, wall decor and storage and tied it together with the yellow, black and white theme. Thank you for showing how to make bunting with paper, yarn and glue. I was surprised to see the board books go in the top slot, wondering if they were being used as art? I noticed the doodle board above the white chair, I would position the doodle board so the children could stand directly in front of it and reach it comfortably. The same for nerf storage. Both great ideas, I would hang at kid level. The room is inviting. It looks wonderful.
Unfortunately, the tiny space just wouldn't allow for the ideal placement of some of the items, like the dry erase board.
@@Clutterbug it helped that you showed us a clip of them using the dry-erase board being used, it reassured me that it would indeed get used there and I know the bottom row of guns will get used. You can only use 2 at a time anyway. Dad will use the top row and they can be rotated of course. Good one 👍
If I met you two at a party I would assume you were sisters because you are both so similar. Love your personalities and your energy.

I really like the make over, it looks great! I do have some concerns though. So much is placed so high on the walls if the children want to access books, nerf guns, etc. they won't be able to reach and they definitley won't be able to put things away. Something to keep in mind when designing children's spaces is to keep things at their level. This space looks so fun and inviting I bet it is a favorite place to spend their time!

This video is so great. I've been enjoying the adventures of Stephanie & Cas throughout. Stephanie has a weird item that needs explanation in every room. Her daughter explaining the room they needed in the house with so much seriousness? Hilarious. Your immediate reaction to seeing prairie dresses? Funny fashion show with chickens! That pretty much sums up your funny personality. The two of you and your dirty minds at the end? Also hilarious. I loved this space, particularly the toy storage and the creative way you did art for such a low budget. I also loved the pile of the stuffies in that container. It became an art piece!

The peg board to display all of the Nerf guns is such a great idea!!! It looks so good and it keeps them off of the floor and easy to put back! I had no idea you could turn a frame into a dry erase board… LOVE that 😍
