Thank you Maya and Simone. This podcast is always surprising me, people with so much to say about their choices changes and action! Love it, keep on going, thanks!
the level of trauma of living with the fear of war is way worse than the fear of possible fires in Australia. Much much worse.. It's not true when Simone says "it becomes a new normal". That's not true for everyone. Like autistic people who don't "get used to" the noise of the motorway nearby, some people just hear it and hear it and hear it and in fact it gets worse not better over time. In London, going to bomb shelters may be just an inconvenience that people get used to and learn to live with. The trauma of relentless war and rockets landing in other people's homes and cars, and suicide bombs, and the "rest of the world" pretending its' not even happening, and so many more ingredients can make the lived experience so much harsher, and exponentialise, unfortunately. It can take years to relax the shoulders and night terrors and PTSD after being there - if you're actively trying to reduce the stress, that is.. I like how Maya says (some of) the fear is induced. I like Simone's clearing statement of being free of governments causing people to "feel" this way. But it's not only governments. It can be induced in a thousand different ways by a thousand different entities all trying to control you. And releasing all that can take a while. And, hopefully , transforming all that, for the world.
Thank you so much for this conversation!! Adore you both!!
