It was 1984 and I was a freshman at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. My brother and his wife were building a non-conventional pole barn styled house in the hills outside of town. On Saturdays I’d assist in the process. Bathing in the warm glow of a shop lite dangling from the rafters we’d be sawing and hammering while listening to A Prairie Home Companion on the NPR affiliate. Good memories.
