I am old and remember things that are completely foreign to today's young people. When my generation passes. the little things that delighted us will be nothing but wispy ghosts of thoughts.

It was a year or two after that, during the height of the MeToo movement, when it had turned into a bit of a feeding frenzy, that an allegation turned up and NPR cut all ties with him. I am a supporter of the movement in general, but after a while it developed a bit of a witch hunt aspect later on. I don't know if that was what happened with Keilor, or if he really was a heel of some kind. But I don't think it had anything to do with his leaving.

My brother and I would listen to this radio show. He now gone. But I now can remember how we seem to bond. Hard being a girl around brothers . They hung out with the males and worked on cars , doing foolish tricks like gang up carry a friend's car to another spot watch him suffer looking for his car. The pumpkins they fool home owners by switching the pumpkin and it was a bit bigger then a minute ago. Or fix it so it seem to multiply to more pumpkins. Boys. LOL miss brothers.
Garrison you are reveered not only for your stories of observation and wit, but of the magical ability to take us back to our own innocence where we were learning about the world. So many forget thus important time in their lives.
Each generation takes with it their history. Please think about, and pursue if you’re moved to, writing out your memories for your family. Your personal history is the best gift for future generations and will be cherished by them.
In my 70's, I have often thought of trying to record some personal history for my kid and his kids. Perhaps I will, though I'm sure they won't be told with Garrison's genius ability to tell a story.

I particularly enjoyed the part about the ravine. My brothers and I had a ravine in our childhood, too. There was also a stream where watercress grew. In Le Sueur, Minnesota.
Years ago I was a flatbed trucker, out for two or three days at a time. On Sundays I would record PHC on a 120 minute tape and listen to it all week, and then record over it again the next Sunday. After a while the tape would begin to stretch, and it was time to buy a new tape. The music was great, the stories were wonderful and the ads were terrific- ketchup ads, buttermilk biscuits, everything! Later I heard that Keillor got fired from the show he started, the show that put NPR in the spotlight, because some bitter hag thought he made a pass at her. He put his hand on her shoulder at some function, and she felt “violated”. Poof- gone. Another victim of the Woke Apocalypse. Shame on them for their ingratitude and heartless stupidity.

So, yes, there was a time when we hunted, because we had to, otherwise we would starve. And then there came about the time when we were taught how to hunt because it taught us how to survive in, and more importantly, how to understand the great outdoors. More and more it seems to me that people want to hunt to prove something...Which in itself is a little disturbing, but something I could go along with, cause deer have to be controlled... But I mean baiting them and then tracking them with drones. I expect we would be a little upset if it was the other way around.
