Congrats on the acquisition and a fixing up job well done. Your care in restoring the F3 will repay you in the long term. I saw some sparking during the shell milling surfacing. Check your feeds and speeds so that you don't prematurely wear your inserts. Daniel
Thanks Daniel! I appreciate it. Speeds and feeds were definitely off. The piece of steel was bent(hadn't seen that) and the one end was sticking out higher. So the depth of cut increased significantly. Terrible for tool life, great video footage :)
Hi Tanner, thanks for once again watching one of my videos! The mill itself is cheap, but if you add the paint, oil, vice, rotary table, collets and tooling its all of a sudden not that cheap anymore...It caused a lot of stomach pain when I couldn't get the motor to run. Was it smart to invest in such an old mill/platform? But now I'm happy! I wish you the best and hope that you can get a mill for yourself some day!
That's understandable. I don't see why it wouldn't be smart to get an older mill, as long as you can source or make parts for it. I like old tools anyways :)
nice job Alexander. if you need some W20 tooling like drill chucks, weldon holders or whatever you need, let me know. I machine them myself. cheers Teun
Nice work, dude! The cover looks really cool. I think I might have laminated it, though. (With a hammer in your hand, everything looks like a nail :-D) Also love the plastic welding part! Can you share what the electric problem turned out to be?
I like that figure of speech! Going to remember that one. The electric problem was a loose electrical contact i think. Probably had something to do with the fact that we dropped it from a trailer while unloading...
Nice job
Thanks! Just moved her again into the new workshop yesterday

that is amazing what are you going to call it
Haha, the mill or the knife? The knife design is called ''Mytilus'' Thanks for leaving a comment. How's your dog by the way?
the mill and the knife are both amazing. i cant wait till the folding knife vid comes out it looks amazing... wait what is the price for it?
Not for sale yet. I'm filming everything and sharing my mistakes. I still need to make many many more!
why don't you solvent weld the 3d prints?
Is that possible for PLA? I can't smooth it out with acetone as I used to do with ABS.
No, acetone doesn't dissolve PLA.
I wish I could just clean my nozzles with acetone ;)
( I am Simen from messenplatform)
Hello, I am also restoring an aciera f3 where can I find the 3d files of the belt cover I also would like to print it.

Really nice job - I recently got an F3 myself and am yet to run it. Did you manage to get much tooling with yours?
Everything I need :) there is a webshop in luxemburg that has collets and arbors. Just dont buy original rotary tables
@@yesealex do you think you could share the link with me? I have had a watch of some of your videos now so will look at more! Nice knives my friend!
Dankjewel! Wel een hele oude machine hoor

I think it is even more important to tram the head of your Aciera. It is quit easy to do if you like I can post a short video on youtube
cheers
Teun
Hey I'd be very interested in a video tutorial like that! I have some problems with the tramming of the head(I think).
Hi Teunbaartman1, did you make a video for tram the head? I recently got an F3 and am yet to play about with it but very keen to!
Good vid, but why does the music have to be so loud
+bigtrev8xl im sorry, didn't knew back then how to correct this in video editing. New videos should be better!
Thanks....it seems most youtube vids are the same, which is a shame. Cheers :)
