I have a late 1969 early 70. Vin stamped 69. Who is good on case repairs. I have had it laying around over 5 years.

I'm fortunate enough to have a welder across from me at my shop. He did the case repairs (or had someone else do them. Look around for some aluminum shops maybe? or check around at some Indy shops, maybe they can guide you to someone reputable in your area. Thanks for watching!

Ya really need to lube everything in this assembly.
    Either be dry or not
    Pre lube always
A dry start is not good..
Just my 35 years of working for Harley
And ya didn't check the end play.

First half of the video was dry mockup still to re verify timing and go over a few things I missed. Every cam came back out and was assembly lubed on the second half and loaded each cam individually, gears and ends, along with brass bushings and cam bearings. I did an endplay check in the previous cam chest when I rough fitted the rest of the parts in the cam cover/chest. None were tight or binding. I could probably have added a few shims to quiet it down a bit, but not excessive play at all. Good looking out John!

You don't have to set fly wheel timing for cam timing

Correct, but the pinion gear timing mark on the breather is much closer to setup cams when the flywheels are close to TDC. I just find it easier to line them all up that way.

Dude forgive me I only been working on harleys since the 70s so tell me again why your not sure about lifters yet ?> It's a kind of hellua time to be thinking lifters right ?

I was only doing the bottom end. In this video I meant as in whether or not the lifters would go in for this video or a separate video. Also deciding on raw lifters or coated black. I ended up splitting the lifter install for another video. Not swapping or changing any parts at this point. Thanks for watching!
