Well done, I'm proud of you, Val! I have unsubscribed to several online shops and deleted emails from others. I received a tip for some mending I did for a lovely neighbor, who told me to treat myself to something-so I spent it on a sewing pattern. 🤣
I do put things on a wish list and it's interesting how my ardor for much of it cools after a bit of time. And other things I still want, but not at the price that I can buy it at! Very funny. Good for you for sticking to your guns. You are a good example to the rest of us. :)
:D Had I been doing Frugal February, I would have been pretty boring as I have no actual money of my own. I guess I would have stopped the odd cake and or sweet when I nip out for basic groceries. I am almost at the two year mark of not buying yarn and I crochet almost every day so you can imagine the stash and I have been banned from buying craft supplies since last summer but I did smuggle in the Fimo before X'mas. This is such a great idea and I am sure it psychologically helps February being the shortest month.
The more we don't spend on unnecessary things the more we have for the big things, vacation, special things. I keep my art supplies at a limited budget each month or I could go broke quick.
I am still falling into temptation when it comes to inexpensive old-fashioned cookbooks. I love to find a cookbook that I want at an irresistible price that has free shipping. Other than that, I have resisted my "out and about why not get a fast food sandwich" habit. I actually looked at the last couple of sandwiches and made the judgement, "That is not a $5 sandwich." It's not much money, but it sure adds up over a month and the sandwich looks NOTHING like the photo on the kiosk. It used to be that there was some resemblance between glamour sandwich photo and what was put into your hand at the drive-through window, but NOT ANY MORE! LOL!
Really good topic. The more mindful I become on shopping the more I realize what is unnecessary. Instead of buying stuff I can save for a nice lunch out or experience. Well done on your progress!

Your last comment was very true as yesterday we had the funeral of my fil who suddenly died aged 72 of a massive bleed to the brain. He died on the 20th December and then my mil tripped and broke her hip at around 11pm New Year’s Eve so yes make the most of every day with your loved ones. Not doing frugal feb as rarely buy anything for myself and craft supply buying was something second hand in November. I’m the opposite of you and need to be forced to buy anything 😢which isn’t fun at all
So far so good. Had a granddaughter over and we used supplies I had already to make pictures for mommy and daddy. It was double success didn’t spend money on it and got to use stock. I think I’ll double pat myself on my back lol. I did buy sweetener but that might of been order before February 1st. I am doing quite well with Frugal February........ except it's my husband's umpty something birthday next month and I saw an absolute bargain and just had to get it for him.........! Now I have guilt and a smug feeling in equal parts! 😏
yay Val! Doing good! Now let me ask you, what do you do with your time when you're not online looking at/for things? Do spend more time crafting or doing something else you like? I do confess that I sometimes go to aliexpress or amazon (they don't send a lot of crafting stuff here or for a ridiculous price) and I get overwhelmed, so I turn off the computer. However, tomorrow, I am planning on getting a 10x15cm mirror for some apoxie sculpting....
My son has moved into our house temporarily but it's so hard to get a flat at the moment it has been three months - so my craft room has no room for crafting lol. I run the house (Dave works hard, so I don't ask him to do chores), I watch a lot of TH-cam, I am constantly letting our cats in and out... I definitely need to get more of a life tbh. I suppose I do walk everywhere (I can't drive) and I have been knitting lately (everything I need for that I already had). But yeah - I really have been shopping out of boredom.
I'm doing OK on frugal Feb :) The only money leaving my account is for stuff I've bought using Klana or Clearpay!!!! I did buy some knickers today and I do need a new bra :) My most comfortable one is on its last legs LOL

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that. I think we have all been there somehow... Maybe with food, for instance. Sometimes things feel like self-care in the moment but a few minutes later you see that your actions were self-destructive. Sounds like you had a good January though, so don't beat yourself up too much, you can always try from now on. I used to have a weird thing where I was always on time for everything (very important to me) but I would subconsciously engineer situations that made sure I was running late. So I would overcome the difficulties and be ok but, I dunno, I suddenly realised I seem to be addicted to adrenaline. Hmmm.
