@@punjabigundaa the casting on son of sam especially! so weird to think it's the same guy from project x, but with that amazing makeup, he looks exactly, without any exageration, exactly the same as the real guy. My mind was blown when I saw pictures of him in real life, I couldn't tell the difference between the two at first
Hands down, this season belonged to Holt McCallany. Really hoping this actor starts getting more roles; a terrific character actor. The scene where he has ice-cream with his son was nothing short of brilliant.
wendy can question the racist-misogynist criminals but for some reason jim can’t??? that’s really how workplaces are sometimes. i wasn’t even mad at that part because it was so realistic.
Same. Without him, they almost certainly wouldn’t have caught Wayne. He’s earned his place, and if Wendy can interview suspects (relatively well from what we’ve seen), Barney could be really useful. Also fuck Gregg.
Black FBI agent Jim Barney stole the scenes he was in, he was like Kemper in S1 but on the other side of the scales. He would have fit right in the Wire, part of Freamon/McNutty team.
Fuck yeah , I think name Jim(?) Dude knew the area , the situation and the political world Ford and Tench had just waded into . It was great work as a whole
I feel like the victims mothers were overly hard on Holden, especially as he busted his nuts catching the killer and no-one else was investigating the murders at time.
I totally agree, although one of the many things I love about this show, is that they're not in the wrong, you can empathize with both the victim's mother's and the FBI agents
I think season 2 is great. A lot of people were just to focus on more action about serial killers yet season 2 explore what the impacts does this serial killers have done to the family of the victims. I remember, when they were at the party everyone is talking about serial killers like their superstars. Yet, you got holden at the end of season 2 feeling guilty because his seeing the menace of this serial killer, to the community and the family that were impacted. And sadly, the family of the victims to these days are still looking for an answer.
And as a result Holden became more sympathetic as having to deal with those who have lost someone to these monsters he became less fascinated and more disgusted.
I loved when Tench’s wife says she’s relieved that Brian isn’t biologically hers, relieved that she didn’t physically create him. It was so powerful and raw.
Maybe, but not really sure. As far as we know he didn't participate in the actual death of a toddler. He was exposed to the picture you mentioned, but it could be that it shocked him initially. But him hearing the story of how Jesus was resurrected at church likely caused him to think that putting the toddler on the cross could resurrect him. He's messed up mentally, but not sure he's a sociopath or psycopath. Pretty sure he may be autistic and has issues with social settings.
@@gabrielcarrasco8414 that's exactly what I think. I highly doubt he's a killer. He's just a kid. Maybe there was not much known about autism back then so they automatically think he's a killer in the making. I don't really know though, just a guess.
Last season Holden was the main focus of the story. This season it felt like Bill was more of the focus. While Wendy had development in both seasons. Next season might have more development for Holden and Bill who are both interesting characters in their own ways.
This isn't an "explanation." It's a recap, as another reader said below. In fact, we don't need an "explanation." The show pretty much spells everything out, right to the end.. It's such a great series. I hate to have to wait another year for the next episodes. Super production!!!
The fact that they took their time to make season two as compelling as season one compensates for making us wait. A lot of series go to crap at season three or four.
@@Belioyt I hear ya but most of their material writes itself since the cases are actual, real, crimes that have all the facts and information on them available, along with real life John Douglas and Robert Ressler's files, interviews, documentaries, to get lot of inside info as well, I do know what you mean though and obviously yes, I rather a longer wait if it has anything to do with the show being better for it
@@Belioyt Except for game of thrones. That took until season 7 or 8 before it all started going south. Heck even the walking dead took until season 8 before it went south.
@bullseyesss was daredevil canceled? I thought those shows were just gonna move to disney+ and they would continue the series from there? PS. Fuck Disney
Having watched so much Criminal Minds over the years, it's so surreal that the techniques that seem normal on CM are brand new, untested and highly doubted in Mindhunter.
They sometimes are too in Criminal Minds. But I believe the main difference is that Mindhunter's analysis is way more profound. Criminal Minds profiles after Mandy Patinkin left always seemed a bit superficial and easy. Mindhunter is spending time explaining, twisting, redirecting where Criminal Minds could sometimes tell if the man liked jam or jelly based on the knife he used to cut his victim throat...
I think BTK is there to show us that Bill and Holden have no clue. All the work they have done over the years and advancements the FBI has made over the years didn't catch BTK, and their profile of him was almost 100% inaccurate. Rader was an anamoly. He didn't grow up abused or from a broken home, he wasn't a loner, nor did he grow up abusing animals. He was a model American: He had a wife and 2 kids, worked hard, went to church every Sunday and volunteered in his community. He's in the show to spit in the face of profiling and everything we believed about serial killers.
@@mikepuppetz9 He was an anomaly at the time but now we are seeing more cases being solved decades later with similar perpetrators. As Kemper rightfully points out they are getting all their info from killers who were caught.
Great we have season 2 but where's season 3. And this is the HUGE problem with Netflix as it lets the most outstanding shows die from lack of production. It's almost like they just want to piss you off on purpose.
Oh, yeah..your right...didn't he kill up into the 90's? I know that the 70's and 80's were the serial killers' heydays, lol. I remember as a young boy/teen when we would go camping in California my dad would always pick up those "True Detective" magazines when he would stop to get gas and beer. My mom and sisters would become scaredy cats at night because some of those stories in that magazine were scary and graphic. Every little noise or twig snapping would freak them out, lol.
I'd love a focus on the green river killer and Holden interviewing Bundy to build a psychological profile of him. Bundy did help the feds create a profile of the green river killer.
Tench would interview Bundy because his real life counterpart Robert Ressler did. Also that’s a common misconception that Bundy helped the fbi create a profile. John Douglas(Holden’s inspiration) and his team came up with a profile in ‘83. Bob Keppel got a letter from Bundy in 88-89 about GRK. Bundy didn’t tell them anything they didn’t already know. They knew the killer was going back and having sex with his dead victims, and Bundy suggested staking out areas where a fresh body had been discovered. They’d already tried that but the media always found out and would ruin a stakeout. GRK was just a pretense for Bob Keppel(and the fbi) to get Bundy to loosen up by stroking his ego, so that he’d eventually reveal insights into his own pathology, admit to his crimes(which he eventually did) and hopefully confess to some unknown murders.
@@Prof_Tickles92 I know. I watched the movie with Carey elwes as Bundy. But the show will probably take some liberties with it as it's a show. Biographical movies or shows always make some changes to the facts.
Tristan Burton I would disagree, I think there was psychological insight with him. Both biological and psychological factors influenced his crimes and it’s interesting to see how these came together, along with differential association and learning theories, and led him to commit the crimes he did.
Ed Kemper actually watched the show and reads comments here. He has an access to the computer and the internet, 3 hours once every week, for good behavior. He planned to have a Q and A on Reddit, but Reddit didn't allowed him
I enjoyed this season most than the first one. I think Bill’s son story is interesting, it helps to expand the profile of serial killers since having a violent childhood or having some kind of trauma is not always the cause of why they commit these crimes. Genetics also plays a key factor in these cases since there are kids diagnosed as psychopaths early in there lives because of unbalanced chemicals in their brains that makes them unable to feel any empathy towards others. Bill’s son may be one of those kids and maybe they are going to explore the role of genetics in the next season.
Swan A I thought it was very interesting as well. I haven’t seen the first season but will get to it. I just saw Bill turning his back on his kid a lot. His actions maybe be a call for attention ? The cross part was very creative. And he saying I’m sorry I’m sorry. Sad we will need to wait awhile.
I loved this season, the entire point of the Atlanta child murders case this season was to show that FBI and law enforcement had tunnel vision when it came to Wayne Williams as a suspect. Wayne did do SOME of the murders, John Douglas even said that there was a link to 11 of the victims from the physical evidence, eye witness testimony/accounts seeing him or one of the three vehicles he had access to in the area, the accessibility of his job working in local news making him familiar with the wooded areas giving him knowledge on where to dump bodies, along with him lying constantly about things, along with his parents helping to facilitate his lies; but in the end he most definitely did not do ALL the murders. Holden at the end feeling hollow and sad really reflected the frustration that people who cared about the case felt in reality. After they got Wayne in their sights the media and law enforcement just created him into the Atlanta Monster. They had spent more time and resources trying to prove that he did every murder rather then actually go out and look at any other person(s). After they got him, there was no incentive to look at what happened to the other kids since "they got their guy", so there was never that victory lap that they were talking about toward the end for the families of those children. Also, gotta say, I loved how Fincher really emphasized at the end that because of the job that Bill, Wendy, and Holden do it just isolates them and makes it hard for their home life and relationships to be happy.
I agree, the murders did stop when stop when they caught Wayne. I think a lot of people missed the point of Wayne Williams, he was only found guilty of killing two adult men, and at that time most black people did not expect a Afro-American man to be a suspect in that situation.
Boy Blue I think that’s why they left that “pedophile Polaroid” scene in at the end of episode 9. They wanted to show that it’s very possible that Wayne didn’t commit all these murders, but unfortunately law enforcement wasn’t able to investigate this further
Vacer, the case is extremely interesting and sad. There was so much going on during it, along with the conspiracy theories. I wish it would have got more attention then what it got.
I think the worst part was he wasnt convicted for killing any kids which only fueled alternate theories, but if you watch interviews with him im convinced he killed at least some of the kids and the most damning evidence is that the killings stopped, and this show keeps showing how killers cant iust quit like that
Anyone else notice the Easter egg of Williams as a “photographer” of the crime scene approx halfway through episode 6? They lingered on that ostensibly random extra just a biiiiit too long....seemed fishy
I watch an interview, where they explain why it takes 2 years to create season 2 since it was picked up already when they were making season 1. They explain that the writers wanted to take time to make sure every scene and episode in season 2 are clearly providing a strong impact to the viewers. Unlike, the last season of game of thrones. LOL Heres the video explaining why they took so long to creat season 2 th-cam.com/video/zb8rWkA4SOA/w-d-xo.html. I just finish season 2, its really great.
The storyline involving bill and his son was so Intriguing. What a dilemma for him to be in. Knowing serial killer traits and behaviour he must have been torn between doing something before it could get worse or covering for the child and hoping he will just "grow out of the phase"
I’d love to see Holden interview Dahmer. He doesn’t seem to have that narcissistic complex like most killers (ed. Bundy) Plus he doesn’t really fit into just one category such as organised, disorganised, etc. He has elements from many and I’d love to see the psychology behind it explored.
@@SDsailor7 yea, hes a great actor!! and is charater was very good relative to the story, he gave a great insight into the way the African American community worked in Atlanta. but every scene hes in he just stole the show, and the actor who play him acting wise hes incredibly talented.
The show is based on the real-life experiences of John Douglas, a special agent who pioneered the practice of psychological profiling during his 25 years with the FBI.
I read the book and it's quite inspiring. He apparently didn't do well in school and spent some time working with the air force. It took years before he finally found his calling and created criminal profiling. Goes to show you can accomplish many things if you have an idea.
Well he mentioned he was a photographer.. Still i think he's innocent.. Ofcourse i always could be wrong.. But i didn't see proper evidence for his guilty judgment.. Also didn't find anything in the water despite they heard a ✌️splash✌️ when they captured him..
Such a great series, keep you on the edge of your seat. I love how they get the most amazing actors to play killers like Son Of Sam, BTK, Kemper and Manson. Also the main story plot in Atlanta was very exiting. Looking forward to season 3!
The Enlightened Centrist I agree with you,the guy who played Koch is so believable, and the Charles Manson was fantastically believable!I do feel however, that the ending was rushed,I wanted to see more of Wayne after he was arrested.
Just binged this in just couple of hrs straight. Bill is so handsome/Brian looks like Damien from Omen/Couldn't digest Nance attitude (I can understand her at points. But she was too extra)/Barney did amazing and I was happy to see him shine/There was some lose ends when they stop the killer in the bridge/The casting director did an *AMAZING* job with Manson/And an overall amazing job in recreating everything from that era, even the Sprite and Pringles cans were so on point!!!
I felt like the beginning of the season started out great but towards the end it really declined in quality in narrative. We don't get the experience the world trough Holden's eyes as much as in season 1 and we don't get as much interesting interviews either. I liked the season, don't get me wrong, but I just think it could have been better. Just my opinion
Season 2 was just okay. Mindhunter author John E. Douglas has already confided that there shall be five (5) seasons, in total. Obviously, the coming final three seasons of Mindhunter will continue to focus on Dennis Rader (BTK/Kansas), but with the end point of Season 2 focused on Wayne B. Williams/Atlanta Child Murders, which ended circa 1981-1982, we should expect to encounter new suspects such as Donald Harvey (Angel of Death/Ohio and Kentucky), Richard Ramirez (Night Stalker/California), Jeffrey Dahmer (Milwaukee Cannibal/Wisconsin), Gary Ridgway (Green River Killer/Seattle) et al.
Rader will most likely be featured in an epilogue scene or they’ll designate the last thirty minutes of the final episode as an epilogue wrapping up the BTK storyline.
I love how Carr and Tench agreeing to blame Ford for every setback they encounter and overlook their own mistakes. It's always Ford who sabotages their work and puts their department into danger.
If it takes 2 yrs to get quality writing and directing, then I’ll wait. I don’t want this show to go down in quality just to capitalize on audience demand.
Charlie Toloza Yes, the BTK character will traverse through all five seasons, since as you correctly note, Dennis Rader/BTK was not captured until the mid-2000s.
Season 3 we might get Ted Bundy and end with Jeffrey Dahmer if the show decided to move faster. For some reason I have this feeling that we’re probably not gonna see how they eventually catch BTK but the show will end on a point where they build a developed system that helps FBI to catch BTK as we know, foreshadowing his destiny kinda way. To be honest I never expected my favorite scene this season is the Berkowitz interview. I was fully expecting the Manson one also awesome in every way
I was so pissed off to find out that there will be no season 3 - Angry at Pincher and the streaming games. I wanted to see the story of BTK killer wraped up. I feel used and abused.
I watched the entire 2nd season this weekend and what really impressed me was the interview with Manson. Never realized he was so short and so sharp. 'my truth is simple and your's is complex... no matter how long I look at the clock, I can't stop it...everyone testified in the best interest of themselves'... classic stuff.
Yeah I kinda thought it was the commissioner also after his first couple scenes. But I think there was also a coverup as they said in the last episode that some of the polaroids were missing...
I loved this season! And the first season! I love the entire show. Just kind of sad that they robbed us from 1 episode because season 1 was 10 episodes.
I want a third season. I know they have said 'no', but I want them to reconsider. This show is incredibly interesting, original, and not 'canned.' That is what we all want. It might be more expensive than a stupid reality thread, but it is far more noble to do what is 'true' and 'real.'
Is it just me or does anyone else think that Ford's girlfriend in season one and the lesbian element in season one and two were totally unnecessary? Just sayin'.
Ford's girlfriend, yes. Not sure about the lesbian element. It's showing Carr's compartmentalisation, how much she *has* to hide for her job. Kind of psychologically profiling her in a way, same as showing Tench's family life this season explained his behaviour. She's a very private person, can't tell anyone about her personal life (compare that with Tench's psych sessions with her about Brian), is scared about what being 'out' will do. I liked Kay though, and I was hoping they'd last - though it was clear they never would, Carr would never relinquish control enough.
No because it shows something if you really pay attention. That even though they understand humans and human body language. They still could not read their lovers and where inn a sense fooled by them. They couldn't control the outcome even if they're the best at what they do.
@@paulneiland5023 sounds like a personal thing. The show explores sexual diversity that subliminally ties together with homosexuality theme revolving the killers. if this show can portray and dive into social issues such as race, why can't it revolve some of the theme around homosexuality? so in my conclusion, yes, I do believe it was necessary to touch on the ''lesbian element'' .
6:20 you forgot that they adopted Brian when he was 3 and they said that they didn't know anything about how he has been treated. So he could have suffered abuse or another traumatic event during those three years (and the early years are crucial in psychology) which could explain his behaviour
Is there anybody else that recognized the subtle yet clear suggestions that Commissioner Lee Brown was the real murderer? I haven't been able to find anybody talking about it, which I'm surprised. An earlier episode in the season Wendy interviews the victim-turned-assistant of the Candy Man serial killer; I felt this was clearly a way to help the audience recognize a possible similar relationship between Wayne and Lee Brown. Shortly after Holden described to Brown how they have created a profile for the murderer, Brown found a way to get them off the case and sent back to Quantico. Once they return he only seems to only create obstacles in their path. The messy police work and impossible police beaucracy & processes pointed out in each episode were also hinting at this. Almost every episode Holden keeps mentioning that whoever is kidnapping the boys likely is using a police-looking vehicle. On top of this, the witness sketch that they show Wayne looks even more like Commissioner Lee Brown than it does Wayne. And on top of all this, in one of the last scenes of the last episode Agent Jim Barney informs Holden and Tench that he found out from an officer that the pile of photos of young white boys that were found before actually had thousands of photos of young black boys as well but was removed from evidence and they had never been told. They literally say that somebody in charge made sure those went missing, and then the camera slowly pans to the upper office of the task force where Brown often met with the other officers and Agents. Finally, both the scene in which Camille Bell is telling Holden that they didn't catch the real killer and the scene where Holden is watching the TV in his apartment Commissioner Lee Brown is shown on the TV in the announcement that the case is now closed and Brown is taking his "victory lap".
They showed way too much personal life in this season. Some of the scenes with Bill and his family were stupid. Wendy's scenes with her new GF weren't that good either. It would have been really great if Holden had a romantic life with that hotel receptionist. I also enjoyed the role of the new FBI director.
My wife and I just binged watched season 1 & 2 and we're now hoping for a season 3? We're thinking maybe the team could interview Bundy, continue hunting BTK and profile the following: 1. Green River Killer. 2. Golden state killer 3. I-45 killer.... The 80's offer quite a few possibilities? What do you MH fans think?
I think you and your wife are on to something, I heard that it will be five seasons. Remember the BTK wasn't caught until 2004 so of course they would do a time jump, but before that happens we still have to get to the Ted Bundy interviews, The night stalker, the Green River killer like you mentioned, and others. So it's still a lot of left to do.
Tristan Burton The 80s held the highest number of serial killers, nationwide. The percentage has fallen off since that time. Mindhunter is contracted for five (5) seasons... smile 🤓
I really wish this series continued. I'd like to see their take on Ramirez, or even fast forward to the 90s' and cover some Canadian cases like Paul Bernardo & Karla Homolka or Robert Willie Pickton.
Season 1 was way too good that it set the bar very high. I found season 2 ok. Nowhere near the level of season 1 but that just speaks to the greatness of season 1. Not very eventful but it does throw alot at you. Hope season 3 takes that next step. Still one of the best shows!
Agreed. They should have developed her character more and I would have loved to see her way of interviewing built upon more than it was. It would’ve been a nice contrast to Holden’s approach. I’d like to see them do one together in the future and how it would pan out.
I watched this show then i tried watching Hannibal. Hannibal was very poor regarding psychological terminologies. I genuinely believe that watching mindhunter set the bar high for any other show to be considered addressing psychology.
@@131untouchable bro we can still hear them talk about it tho theres a bunch of serial killers that are berally even mentioned in history even if they dont talk about every serial killer it would be cool if they talk about some cults like Jonestown or some other cult idk maybe they can even mention zodiac killer i haven't seen them mention zodiac yet
Knowing the outcome of the Atlanta child murders, and all the bungling that went on, made this season a bummer. Great season, just not on the level of Season 1.
It was nowhere near as good as S1. Ed Kemper stole the show in S1 but only gets 5 minutes in S2???...and like alot of netflix shows now it gets spoiled by wokeness 🙄
@@theambiguoustroll2166 I disagree with your "wokeness" point at the end. I think the show accurately portrays some the feelings felt by the people in Atlanta at the time and also shows by the end of the investigation how they were the ones who were actually seeing in tunnel vision. At first the show portrays Holden that way with him continually sticking to his initial profile, but in the end we actually see that it was almost spot on for Wayne Williams. But even though he is right, the people of Atlanta at the end are bitter and resentful towards him. They were not happy with the end result because the killer was not who they wanted or expected it to be. But the difference is in the way that the scenes play out, this time we are supposed to feel bad for Holden. His instincts were correct but the guy is not going down for all of the murders. His instincts were correct, but the victims families are not grateful. Basically, I think the ending was very well done, and showed that even if you do the right thing in some situations, people may still hate you for it.
JonBlade101 great take , I think the Ad for the show really apt up the “SJWness” but the show was still whole cloth behavioral criminologists trying to put their theories into action in the field . It’s really fascinating how New this whole way to find a serial Murderer was , truly terrifying how is little things that are signs of a sociopathic person with Murderous intents
@@TheDrudgenator Yeah I'm not saying that the season was flawless or anything, Wendy's personal life stuff with the girlfriend was overall pretty weak and I hoped that she would've been more involved with the Atlanta stuff since that was basically the second half of the season. Overall though I really loved this season and I can't wait to see what they're gonna do with Bill, Holden and Wendy next time. I want them to go back to some of the previous interview subjects (i.e Son of Sam and Manson). If they ever do the Green River Killer, a Bundy interview would truly be a sight to behold. BTK is still the endgame though
@@JonBlade101Official I definitely want to see the green River killer, but I believe they will do a time jump since the btk guy wasn't caught until the early 2000s. I do believe Wayne Williams did it because the murders stop when he was caught.
I love how this show has professional psychological analysis about murderers and their motives. S1 and S2 was great about understanding murderer’s childhood and how they becoming who they are. Some people critizes the show about showing character’s personal life but actually their personal life important to the show’s depth. We can understand character’s decisions more if we learn more. Especially learning Bill’s family life especially his child is very connected to the murderer’s childhood. Bill is becoming even defensive when they interviewed Manson or some child victims situation. I mean Bill is trying to be a good dad but still he is absent in his life. Nancy is in depression and it is not helping too. Also this show is asking again : “ If life situation of Murderers would be different , they would be still a Mırderer because they are biologically defective ? “ Also the show explain that how hard you work , still if judgement does not work correctly, justice will never find its place. :/ However this show also show that every person can have prejudice and mistakes .
This is one of my favorite shows ever but i gotta be honest... this season was disappointing, not in quality, but in story, it wasn’t bad but it was definitely uneventful
I must agree with you. There lot of unnecessary subplots in the story. The show spent much time on Bills personal life and Wendys love drama and less time on what makes the movie great. They should phase Greg and Wendy out and bring Jim.
They won't get rid of Wendy because she is based upon an actual person, plus...I still like her character and the actress (Anna Torv) who portrays her, lol.
@@tristanburton3554 she is a great actress and hot too btw. My complain is that they changed her character from a professional, key member of the unit who happened to be lesbian to a lesbian who happened to be part of the team. In the case of Ford and Bill it was understandable that they showed a bit of their personal lives because you can see how the job takes a toll on them and their lives but the portray of Wendys relationship in season 2 served no real purpose in advancing the show. It was more showing a lesbian relationship as novelty.
@@john_doe_smith I loved that they showed Wendy's personal life. It's important to fully develop a character, and her struggles with her sexuality (living an honest life) is a significant aspect of her life and reveals that she's not as tough and unapologetic as she'd like to be perceived. It was also interesting to see how she had to work with openly homophobic colleagues. What annoyed me is that they didn't focus on showing her doing her job as much. It was mainly just Wendy with her lover. The rare scenes of Wendy conducting the interviews show how great she is at it, as she has way more insight into the human psyche than the others. Yet she was sidelined, while the boys were delegated to do the real work.
Who else thinks Season 2 was better than season 1? Because I do. Like most people, I absolutely adored season 1 when I watched it almost two years ago, but after watching it again recently before watching season 2, it was not as good as I remember it when comparing it to season 2. I think this season had more creepiness and masterfully directed tension-filled scenes. The score was better/more unsettling, and the interviews were just as good, if not better, IMO. People are complaining about the last four episodes being completely focused on the Atlanta child murders and it not being that interesting, but season 1 did something very similar by dedicating three whole episodes to the story of the young woman who was killed by her sort-of-fiance and left in the dump to be discovered by a guy passing by with his dog. Three episodes! And that case was not more interesting or suspenseful than the Atlanta case in season 2. Sure, Wendy's love affair left a lot to be desired and went nowhere, but so did Holden's relationship with Debbie last season. I loved the the interview with Burkowitz in episode 2. Pretty much all of episode 2 was a masterclass on how to direct and create suspense. And the interview with that less than brilliant gum chewing guy in episode 3 was fantastic. And Holden fanboying over Manson in his interview was a definite highlight for me. And yes, the ending may have been anticlimatic, but so was the case in real life, and this is based on actual events. So can we really complain about that? I think season 2 was brilliant, and I commend everyone involved for somehow finding a way to improve upon the nearly perfect season 1.
good eye! But I think the news clip at the last episode is dated in 1977 and season 2 is around 79-81 so maybe it's her maybe it's not. I hope it's not her so that we'll see how Brian will develop eventually
That is not Nancy's stuff. What's happening in that scene is BTK renting a motel room so he can pleasure himself to his victims stolen items, and also so his wife doesn't catch him again.
Mindhunter is awesome! Although season 1 felt more "action packed" with more interviews with serial killers, which imo are the best parts of this show, season 2 was still well written and a thrill to watch. And the way season 2 ended BTK might be the main antagonist of S3. Which might be the best season yet depending on how everything panned out from the first 2 seasons.
was anyone else annoyed with nancy? she wants bill to be home while 29 kids are fucking dead. she can’t handle brian, a weird ass traumatized kid, and she needs a break from it. seriously, her husband is going through really tough work. be more supportive. what does it matter if bill is home when the kid refuses to talk to him. he’s only interested in death. the kid is fucked up yet she prioritizes him more than the grieving mother. he refuses to admit something could be remotely wrong with him. he just stares at people. i wouldn’t be surprised if he hurt animals in the next season. i just hope they’re out of the picture cuz it was unbearable to see nancy and brian.
Does anyone know what the scenes from.season 1 with Wendy leaving tuna for the cat meant? I just rewatched s1 and they gave it a fair ammount of attention. Am i missing something?
I remember reading that the director said that a budding serial killer/sociopath killed the cat, i think it was to sort of represent how a lot of serial killers start at a young age with animals. I'm not sure though
This is more of an ending recap, or at best a personal account of how you felt it concluded. The series is amazing and takes 2 years to make these rich and insightful episodes. And the casting director is next level.
I love this show, and the characters, however when they do a deep dive into character development, it seems to derail any momentum that they establish throughout the season, the last two episodes, of season two, were full throttle and I loved it, but Mindhunter suffers from the same problem that Netflix's Marvel properties have, useless filler, focusing on a lesbian relationship is fine, but what does it have to do with serial killers? An agents son is involved with a child's murder? And seeing the father squirm as he learns what could be in store for his own son, well that DOES keep me interested in his story. Before everyone blows up about "anti-lesbianism" please point out, what I missed this season, other than the fact that she took up 4 episodes to tell the audience that her girlfriend was afraid to come out of the closet to her ex- husband, and again, all their scenes were well acted, just didn't see how all the extra exposition fit with the overall season, which was WAY better than season 1
HUUUUGE disappointment of a season...it didn't take the next step and I really thought they would. Great series overall, just went through the motions imo.
If I have to wait another 2 years for season 3, I might just kill someone...🔪🔪🔪
Thats a great idea. You go do that sir.
Then maybe season 4 will be made on you
I will have to copycat your killing spree if they make us wait.
Alibi for sale
Video on ST AGATHA please. I'm trying to understand the ending

Hands down, this season belonged to Holt McCallany. Really hoping this actor starts getting more roles; a terrific character actor. The scene where he has ice-cream with his son was nothing short of brilliant.
He had such pain behind his eyes in some scenes. An absolute brilliant performance throughout.
And the Manson scene. The way Charles was pushing his buttons was so diabolical.

Black FBI agent Jim Barney stole the scenes he was in, he was like Kemper in S1 but on the other side of the scales. He would have fit right in the Wire, part of Freamon/McNutty team.

Is it cool to be autistic now? Damn I was born in the wrong generation 😂
Rowynne Crowley i dont think you understand anything about autism or the autism spectrum
Yeah probably gave him a flash back
Maybe, but not really sure.

Having watched so much Criminal Minds over the years, it's so surreal that the techniques that seem normal on CM are brand new, untested and highly doubted in Mindhunter.
Doug Glassman man I was thinking the exact same thing
They sometimes are too in Criminal Minds. But I believe the main difference is that Mindhunter's analysis is way more profound. Criminal Minds profiles after Mandy Patinkin left always seemed a bit superficial and easy. Mindhunter is spending time explaining, twisting, redirecting where Criminal Minds could sometimes tell if the man liked jam or jelly based on the knife he used to cut his victim throat...
I’ve always felt like this show was a prequel to Criminal Minds! Albeit a much more realistic and darker prequel..
It drives me insane!!
That's how it was all looked at old school mentality of the authorities made it hard
I wonder where they are going with btk he doesnt get caught for 20 more years....
The casting in this show is scarily good, that manson was spot on
Yup you are right. Spot on. But so was the Wayne Williams character.

@@MelaniaRose also, I think it will show the breaking of using the dna to solve crimes...
Love Muffin do you think we’ll see Bundy in the show as a interview before we get to the 80s
I'd love a focus on the green river killer and Holden interviewing Bundy to build a psychological profile of him. Bundy did help the feds create a profile of the green river killer.
Yep...I wouldn't waste my time on Richard Ramirez...simple spree killer right there, no deep psychological insight in that punk.
Tristan Burton ehhh. I think Dr.Carr would disagree.

Swan A White people are just crazy

Swan A I thought it was very interesting as well. I haven’t seen the first season but will get to it. I just saw Bill turning his back on his kid a lot. His actions maybe be a call for attention ? The cross part was very creative. And he saying I’m sorry I’m sorry. Sad we will need to wait awhile.
@@SerPapus I beg you to provide me with a source for this LMFAO
''trauma is not something you simply forget''
that was my favorite quote from this season
Fincher doesn't have as greater control of the show as most people think a lot more people are responsible for everything
I think the worst part was he wasnt convicted for killing any kids which only fueled alternate theories, but if you watch interviews with him im convinced he killed at least some of the kids and the most damning evidence is that the killings stopped, and this show keeps showing how killers cant iust quit like that
This show deserves an award , the acting is incredible.

they perfectly showing the weakness of the police to arrest the killer and how frustrating catching a smart killer.
Would be interesting seeing them do Leonard Lake and Ng

Rader will most likely be featured in an epilogue scene or they’ll designate the last thirty minutes of the final episode as an epilogue wrapping up the BTK storyline.

Season 3 better deal with BTK and have a time jump (Rader was active during the 70 and 80s, but was captured in 2005)
Charlie Toloza Yes, the BTK character will traverse through all five seasons, since as you correctly note, Dennis Rader/BTK was not captured until the mid-2000s.

It gives the show more dimensions or it just the prequel of Criminal Mind

I can't believe its another great show that Netflix has cancelled 😩

Woahhhhh
They showed way too much personal life in this season. Some of the scenes with Bill and his family were stupid. Wendy's scenes with her new GF weren't that good either. It would have been really great if Holden had a romantic life with that hotel receptionist. I also enjoyed the role of the new FBI director.
@KaMau Mau Yeah, would've been fun if Wendy slept with Bill. That agent Smith's character was completely useless from the start.
@KaMau Mau Tanya is an ungrateful bitch.
My wife and I just binged watched season 1 & 2 and we're now hoping for a season 3?
We're thinking maybe the team could interview Bundy, continue hunting BTK and profile the following:
1. Green River Killer.
2. Golden state killer
Nightstalker was a such a fucking punk....couldn't believe this jack ass had 'groupies'?
I find it strange that the show still hasn't mentioned Gacy yet since he was sentenced in 1980
Tristan Burton The 80s held the highest number of serial killers, nationwide. The percentage has fallen off since that time. Mindhunter is contracted for five (5) seasons... smile 🤓
@@Tristan6413 I agree, then they just skate right over gacy but mention him very briefly.
Dr. Carrs afair was just unnessecary and pure fan-service 🙄
Bro facts I just skipped all of her bullshit ass scenes. I didn’t give a shit about her character. she literally was fucking useless in this season.
I totally fuckin skipped it.
More about appeasing the LGBT Alphabet soup audience. Was pointless to the story.
That was hot though
I hope season 3 has night stalker or maybe green river or the highway of tears killer idk
Highway of tears is canada do I doubt it will be in
@@131untouchable bro we can still hear them talk about it tho theres a bunch of serial killers that are berally even mentioned in history even if they dont talk about every serial killer it would be cool if they talk about some cults like Jonestown or some other cult idk maybe they can even mention zodiac killer i haven't seen them mention zodiac yet
@@imposterblockade1826 They did mention Zodiac. C'mon pay better attention.
Anyway The Night Stalker should be mention pretty soon. Hopefully.
@@brunofenix6953 when?
I'm pretty sure we'll get Richard Ramirez in season 3 or season 4
Thank you so much for uploading this video. It is helping me get through the pandemic!
Also the show explain that how hard you work , still if judgement does not work correctly, justice will never find its place. :/
However this show also show that every person can have prejudice and mistakes .
Such a shame there was not a season 3 approved.
Great season! Let's hope we don't have to wait almost 2 years for the next one!
This is one of my favorite shows ever but i gotta be honest... this season was disappointing, not in quality, but in story, it wasn’t bad but it was definitely uneventful
Agree. Extremely lazy writing
I guess Nancy(Tench's wife)was the victim of that mystery man in the end.
He has her jewellery and sandals with her photo.
Did anyone notice??
Absolutely right
Will Bill's kid become a serial killer in the final season?
Does anyone know what the scenes from.season 1 with Wendy leaving tuna for the cat meant? I just rewatched s1 and they gave it a fair ammount of attention. Am i missing something?
llama prana
I wanted to know what happened to the cat, too!!
Same, I personally think it just symbolized her loneliness in the new town she was in.Nothing too deep.
Dr Carrs affair was totally unnecessary and I skipped it.
@@acidmidsmy wife and I agreed to do the same, it just killed all momentum
Miss this show terribly.😍
HUUUUGE disappointment of a season...it didn't take the next step and I really thought they would. Great series overall, just went through the motions imo.
The season was brilliant! It's pity you didn't grasp the cliffhanger.
Really like this show a lot . It’s a pity we won’t be getting season 3 any soon
