This episode was a great example of why I love this vlog. Stephanie telling us the story of time, love and friendship woven into the beautiful 200 year old fabric that will be given pride of place in her bedroom. I love to learn something new, and I often do on this inspirational vlog. Thank you Stephanie.
Matts my nephew and a wonderful man. Always does his very best. He's a real trickster too. Great place you have there. Please Give Matt a hug from his Aunty Sue xx
What a beautiful soul is Davey. Quiet, humble, full of wisdom. It's lovely to see him blossom. He's never over-bearing...quietly he suggests changes for the better. You are ever blessed with unique individuals ready to help bring Chateau LeLande to its former glory!
I’m so happy for you Stephane that you now feel secure due to your success on TH-cam. Cant wait to see all the beautiful furniture and decorations going on in the Chateau. Xxx happy day ahead xxx
Oh YES Please come back in July Davy! I so love seeing you and hearing your ideas. Plus so much will be accomplished and you will be able to see it !! Have a safe trip and much love to your wonderful parents.
This interpretation of love is very true, I have to say we have been married going on 54 yrs and it has graduated to more of friendship and deeper than earlier on in life. The older it gets the stronger it can become, except it is not easy and it can fall away at some points if you do not have the unconditional kind of love, The forgiving love. No one I ever totally safe from the times it may fall away, but the strength is in the fact you have weathered many turmoils together and got stronger. Such a fine way for Stefanie to always remember the truth of the story of love! So wonderful to have it so close, and love is like that, close but sometiems seem far but not lost. Communication and forgiveness I the most important to hold together. Well, we never have it figured out, but we always work at it.
So true. We have been together almost 54 years too. He's my best friend just as I am his. We've been through a little bit of everything through the years but we've always made it through together.
Important to accept changes in life and within relationships. The ability to change and modify our wants and needs as we age. It is important to reflect on what your motives are when interested in relationships with others.
I am so excited to see the end result of Stephanie's room!! I am so happy Stephanie is working on her private spaces to make it something she loves even more.
Fab episode peeps!💜 Can't wait to see all developments - bedroom toilles;garden watering; Matt's work;tree surgeon's work Selmar's hammock; Peababies; Dan's drone footage of trees ...... The list just goes on and on! Thank you La Landers! 💜💜💜💜
Enjoyed the bustle of activity, and the sight of a childlike Stefanie sitting above the moat with Cat, feeding the fishes. Was amused when Stefanie said of the missing large Carps : We did not get this large by being foolish. Also glad that your anxiety has eased financially, those late nights and many hours editing, along with the help of your friends & staff have brought well deserved dividends. Over two hundred videos under your belt. Congrats.
Davy is so tall did he need to stand on anything to position the bed crown? I love his gentle humor and in depth knowledge on such a wide range of subjects I hope La Lande can hang on to him for as long as possible he is such an asset. Xx
I think the Dr. Nick the Arborist is absolutely fascinating. I love how we just walks around and touches the trees to diagnose them. He is definitely a tree whisperer. I had no sense of the size of the redwood until Nick stood beside it with his massive chainsaw. Another great episode
SO FUN! In the vlog, where you bought the bedcrown, I suggested exactly, what you are going to do 😃 Great minds.... 😁 I have to say, so much is happening around the Chateau, that I feel like I almost need a regular grand tour, with updates on everything. Don't get me wrong, I like the vlogs, visiting other places too, but I am really interested in whats happening at the chateau, the gardens, well, everything 😂
Hello! Please thank Sara for the great idea of wrapping fabric on cardboard for storage. I have many pieces and often find another piece in the thrift stores. I too will be clearing unneeded items to make room for fabric to stand on a shelf and trims in a basket. How great to create a second toile bedroom. I can't wait to see how that develops. Have a safe trip to Belgium and the chateau tour!
Yes, it’s an excellent idea that I will be using Sarah thanks for sharing that. I am also having a declutter and a massive sort out, I haven’t been in my attic for 10 years, don’t think it’s wise climbing up and even worse coming down a ladder at my age almost 75. It’s always exciting as you forget what treasures you may find, ha ha!.
Looking forward to all the changes happening-the new watering system going in and the dangerous trees getting chopped. Selmar getting a new zen space for his camper and close to the peahen 💕 The dynamic duo of Natalia and Cat organizing the B&B rooms! Have a safe trip, Stephanie, Davey and Philip 🚗
One thought, I am wondering if measuring the length and width of each piece of fabric, before placing the wardrobe, would be helpful while looking for fabric for different projects. In that way, you would know at a glance if any fabric would be the proper length for your needs.
19:37 Ooooh I just want to squeeze you with hugs! I know the feeling of scarcity complex too. I just bought my first house at age 42 and am only just starting to invest in nice furniture and items for my home, and getting rid of all the accumulated items I thought I loved before. It's such a significant process to go through I love that you're enjoying it too!!
@@hazelsmith8701 yes now she does, buts that’s the result of minor scarcity complex, it makes you gather lots of thinks even though they might not be necessary. Brains are daft like that sometimes 😄
With the toile canopy, the toile curtains and many framed pieces of toile, your bedroom will have the most 18th century feel and will look absolutely gorgeous! Hope Davy will indeed return!! And keep relying on Philip for fabric, colour and taste, Stephanie! His is impeccable 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Though I’m not so much for toile, I know I know- I think your aunt’s curtains will look beautiful with the friendship toile. Look forward to seeing the redo. And thank you for taking us on the journey with you. I love seeing all the projects and organizing etc. I am vicariously there with all of you and loving every bit of it. Thank you so much for the soothing balm of it. Makes me want to hug you all.
Philip is funny! I love how you are so close-such a sibling-type bond-where he says what he really thinks about the pink tape in your bedroom! The look on his face! Lol! 🥰
Selmar…. I just watched your vlog …..beautiful sight of nature and what an authentic human being you are with so much integrity. Glad to know that you are doing well. Looking forward to your next vlog. Take care 🥰
Hello Danielle, I keep seeing this “authentic” term being used in regards to people and I am confused. I always thought the term authentic simply meant “real, or proven” and so now I am confused. I’m 62 years so maybe something has changed since I was off grid for many years. Help please!
@@bjbrown when you say you keep seeing AUTHENTIC..I did mention that in my comment once sooooo I presume you want the definition of AUTHENTIC...means this person is real not fake like so many are... just like GENUINE means real... not fake does this answer your question. YIPPIE...🥰
@@5nowyOwl thanks for the clarification, and I knew the meaning it’s just that people seem to be using words differently now. I guess I’m a bit older and when I heard “authentic” I understood it to mean genuine, real, etc. To me an authentic human being sounds strange as in what other kind of human being would there be. Authentic used to be the term for, “it’s an authentic Rolex, not an imitation or a cheap knock off.” Like I say, being older I am not used to hearing words used in this way. Cheers
Okay so this toile is the fabric equivalent of the Spice Girls Wannabe: "If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends, Make it last forever, friendship never ends" HAHAHAHAHHA I love it!! Seriously, this is perfect for Lalande. All part of the fairy tale with the happy ending!
I am so happy to hear that you will be visiting another chateau . Those are my favorite episodes. I love coming “home” to Lalande but it’s wonderful to see other homes that are chateaux. You are an excellent Tour guide, and you ask just the right questions of the owners. Thank you, thank you for my travel logs. I love looking at Château homes.
Wow! That toile and bed crown is just beautiful! 😍What a great find! There is recent episode on the Journey to the Chateau channel where the guys visit the Toile museum in Jouy and they also make their own toile designs! 🥰 I think the red toile patterns are my favorite. 😍
So much fun, this video. The pink tape? Gone? Very good decision. Even if I once painted the trim in my living room a shocking magenta color. 🤣 Oh, if any channel deserves financial security, income, the ability to do the things you need and want to do - it’s yours, dear Stephanie. You bring a lot of joy to so many of us. ❤️ And can I say your tree-cutter is wonderful.
I so agree and feel the need to state so do to certain naysayers ruffling my feathers here tonight. Stephanie has worked so hard combined with her positive personality, creative efforts and wonderful ability to tell and share historical knowledge has made her channel successful. Darn tootin she deserves good things, stability and success
Thank you for that wonderful story about Time, Love and Friendship, Stephanie, imprinted in that beautiful fabric. I follow your vlog because it is so realistic but at the same time so like a fairy tale. I too love reading fairy tale when I was little and now I watched it turning into reality in your life and I feel in the same way, in a small way in my life too. I too do a lot of renovation in my little house to fit my dream, thanks to you, my inspiring role model.
Oh Davy is going again!😢. Hopefully not for long. The chateau is coming along so well, and so fast!! I remember when Stephanie first started these vlogs and mummy was all wrapped up in a red blanket and Stephanie had to write by candle light because the outlet did not work at her desk or something. Haha. Oh they were so brave.
Wonderful updates. We are so happy that guests are arriving next week and Selma will soon be nesting under just a few trees. Then you can finish your bedroom nest!. All my prayers to Isabel, Percy and Jerry. Is the Scotsman healing well and can he get around now? Hope Davy brings new formal garden plans with him in July and that Steve has art tile news then. Enjoy Belgium and the Netherlands!
As I renovate my grandmother's 1867 farmhouse, I too am sorting into what can be used and what won't work. The sort goes on both at the farmhouse and in my current home. I think it will be a two year sort. I have sorted out already what I am sure is no longer used here or will be used for the farmhouse and all that will be in a yard sale in July. Then there is the pile of maybe it can be used and as the renovation finishes room to room, I will be moving things and seeing what works. The "doesn't work" will be set aside for another yard sale next summer. It's a process that wrecks havoc temporarily! I really like Sara's fabric storage method. I have about a cupboards worth too and am going to take it from shelves, roll it using her method and set it up -- much easier to access for sure. As always, enjoy all the hints and ideas I get from watching progress at the chateau.
That's WONDERFUL that you are moving into your grandmother's farmhouse. I love keeping things like property in the family. Your grandmother would surely be pleased.
I remember back at time when Stefany was painting her room with pink, and still didnt know if this gonna stay. It was lovely to see, play with this joyful colour, dont know why i felt so happy.
Everytime I watch a new vlog I keep being surprised at how much I love them. My husband always saying "are you watching the castle lady again"... Keep up the great work.
I think the idea with the pink edging could’ve been lovely. Such terrible comments on it as it wasn’t complete. Steph always does a beautiful job decorating so I bet it would’ve looked great once completed. 🌸
I just love the juxtaposition of the different toiles in your bedroom Stephanie - it will look amazing! The story of love and friendship in that toile was so true in so many ways and you told t beautifully. Thank you!
“Friendship has nothing to fear from time. “ Aching for my dear friend, my border collie Chinook. He has been gone a year, but I will never forget his friendship. This segment meant so much to me today.
I so appreciate the length of your vlogs...........never enough for me but i am so happy that you keep us up on what is going on. How is Nati's apartment going? Would love to see that again. Sad about Davey leaving but he will return..........LaLande is in his blood now lol lol.........as it is mine. From North Idaho adieu xxxooo
Another epic installment! Congratulations on finding the book with the toile in it! I have a strict policy of not critiquing/condemning anything I do not understand. Which is why I have not said a word, publicly or privately, against the pink tape. I will now say though, that I am glad it is going! Thank you for the video!
How in the world is the fabric survived 200 years? My ggg Grandparent are from France. My paternal grandmother spoke the native language. My father could understand his mother’s native language and claimed he could not speak it fluently. Until one night with his dementia he started speaking French very fluently and fast. He had snuck out of my parents house and l dialed my Mother to let her listen to Dad speak French. As a child l always wanted to speak French as my other cousins. I cannot wait to visit France for a couple of months next year. I am delighted l have found your channel. It would be a dream to stay at your lovely B&B Castle. I am going to be spending many late nights watching all the videos. I was a commercial and residential woman builder in America. ❤️❤️
Oh Stephanie your bedroom is going to be amazing. I'm anxious to see what you have in store for us with the other rooms. Would you please give us an update on Gerald? I miss his humor and I hope he's doing well and will be back soon.🙏❤️

Hi Stephanie. Were you aware of the series Restoration of Versailles on you tube? Has considerable information about how the experts restore all aspects of the palace
Sad to see Davey going but so glad he’s coming back soon. I just imagine him in a tailcoat moving about the gardens like a heron inspecting things intently. Have a safe trip to all!
I'm so happy for Stephanie's plans to change her room. Glad work has been done so watering the garden will be easier. It's good the over regrown forest is being cleaned up.
I'm excited to see the mix of fabrics in your room!! I love the stories, although I personally believe friendship is foundational for love and true love is lost without it. But, isn't that what the story was saying??? And sometimes, love is a choice cuz time does change us all. Anyway, just my little two bits.....with a dash of easily confused and forgetful. 👀
Phillip. Could you design your own bedroom decor. You are so talented. You are such a clever person. You deserve to live in a beautiful chateau Phillip. Your good taste is exquisite. Stephanie you bring out the best in people. My good memories in 2020 and 2021 are about discovering this magical chateau in France with extraordinary humans.
Maybe put some "Caution" tape around Siv's nesting area so it does not get weed wacked or the branches removed until she is done hatching her babies. I hope they will be safe from the predators. Fingers crossed.

I love these preview snapshots at the beginning of the videos Stephanie. Bravo to whomever came up with the idea.
Love the toile history lesson and story.
I think the idea with the pink edging could’ve been lovely. Such terrible comments on it as it wasn’t complete. Steph always does a beautiful job decorating so I bet it would’ve looked great once completed. 🌸
Stephanie Jarvis is the Sister Wendy of toile de jouy. She brings the richness of the story told by the art to the masses.
She did Toile de Jouy 101 and now University
Toile….Be still my heart. 😍😍It’s going to be so beautiful.
I just love the juxtaposition of the different toiles in your bedroom Stephanie - it will look amazing! The story of love and friendship in that toile was so true in so many ways and you told t beautifully. Thank you!
Stephanie you are an encyclopedia of knowledge, you really are. Thankyou and goodnight all XXX
Love the fabric story from your bedroom. So beautiful. 😁
Oh the idea of the clashing toiles in your bedroom Stephanie really excites me, I just get a feeling of chateau extravagance when I picture it.
great to see Selmar again
Nick rocks!!!
Thats a great allegory! What a treasure to have that fabric inside your room!
OMG I can't wait! You have sparked my interest in Toile de Jouy!
That Toile is just made for the Chateau Love and friendship meant to be.
Absolutely brilliant episode. Thanks Steph.
Oh Stephanie your bedroom is going to be amazing. I'm anxious to see what you have in store for us with the other rooms. Would you please give us an update on Gerald? I miss his humor and I hope he's doing well and will be back soon.🙏❤️

I love the expressions on Mathew’s face on the things you say Stephanie. Lol 😂
I love the bedroom plans. The two fabrics for the bed hangings work so well together. It’s uncanny how the teester fabric blends with your existing toile collection! Everything will be lovely! Maybe you can use de gournay in the boudoir?
YES! De Gournay is my absolute dream. One day.
Just loving the vlogs. So happy for your mother and Percy. Love can conquer all!

Cannot wait to see Selmas caravan set up in the woods. Adore this vlog and look forward to the vlogs every week 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Hi Stephanie. Were you aware of the series Restoration of Versailles on you tube? Has considerable information about how the experts restore all aspects of the palace
I love the toile what a find and the curtains will just bring it together. Hope the peacock will be ok there. So much going on as normal
The peaHEN. That is the nesting female.
@@cathleencumpton779 that's what I meant to say
These chateau updates are my favourite.
Sad to see Davey going but so glad he’s coming back soon. I just imagine him in a tailcoat moving about the gardens like a heron inspecting things intently.
Have a safe trip to all!
Yes, he seems to be an old soul.
The lamps that are in the room that Marie is staying in, the one with the green bed furniture, would be perfect for Stephanie’s new room decorations!!
What an amazing vlog!!! Laland is like a beehive, business everywhere and so exciting for your viewers this one anyway. So exciting for Selmar to be moving to his zen space soon.Prayers the tree falls exactly where Nick has planned as I am sure it will. Safe travels to Stephanie and Davy. Love to all!!!💖🏰👸💖
Nick
@@cathyblackhall3448 Thank you Cathy.😊
Stephanie you are amazing! Love and Friendship! That is the motto for your vlogs. Fabulous!
Safe journey to you all! Your room will be beautiful with all that you planned for it! Can’t wait for Selmar to get his little nook squared away. Best wishes for Siph’s eggs and safety thereof. So happy your watering system is coming together! Bye Davy!
Yay! So glad your bedroom is finally getting some attention! You deserve it 😊
What I love is how you tell the story about material, pottery etc Stephanie. It is wonderful. Great seeing Selmar and his new spot. . I shall stress about the animals on the “ wood side” of the chateau though.🍷
Yes there are fox and such. Selmar, will watch fur baby Diesel closely I am sure
