Awesome man, love hearing these videos inspire you to get out. Get that Tundra out there! If you're in WA, check out the 'Washington Overland' Facebook group. Often times people will post about group trips or looking for a buddy to hit the trails with
I can't wait to get up to the pnw. We're almost done collecting our camping gear, just need the sleep mats and cookware. Temps here in socal have dipped finally so looking fwd to some time in big bear to start us out.
I dint know Christine is scared of the dark get those 1000000000XXXX lumens in there lol. Talk about eat my dust! This was cool guys, adding it on our extensive list 😃
That's when I open up the gap between me and the person in front of me, as someone that was born and raised in southern California I know dust all too well since everywhere you go is dusty except when crossing a river LOL
I’ve heard that OR BDR is much more complicated to drive. But in your video I don’t see any obstacle, looks pretty smooth, like WA BDR. Do you think stock 4Runner can make it (in the same weather and conditions)? This section and maybe some others you tried.
Oh yeah, a stock 4Runner would make it though this section EASY. Haven't done any other sections of this new ORBDR yet, but I'd be surprised if there's anything a stock 4Runner couldn't handle. Note: there were some alt routes on this section that we avoided as Intel seemed to indicate they were more dual spot bike friendly vs truck friendly
@@WheretoNextOverland thanks for a quick response! Bought 4Runner recently, haven’t started building it yet. But already started taking some simple trails. And looking for new ones :) Will probably meet with you guys occasionally on WA roads one day. Have great trips and vids!
Best place to find this route (or any BDR route) is at www.ridebdr.com. From there you can download a GPX file of the route you're interested in and then upload it into onX!
Yep, that was Gaia. You can download .gpx files from the ridebdr.com website for the BDR routes and then upload them to whichever map app you prefer (Gaia, onX, etc...)
@@WheretoNextOverland there was a bunch of ground burned up that summer in Oregon. The 3 up around Detroit were over 100,000 but less than 200,000 each. Then there was the labor day fires that were really stretching responders thin. Then 2021 didn't get much better producing one of the largest fires in state history burning over 413,000 acres.
Man I love your videos. Inspired me to get my tundra built. Now I just need buddies to go camping with.

If your in Oregon let's go! Built 4runner 3rd gen
That looked like a fun trip, there’s a lot to see and do in central Oregon. Very impressive that you had a flashlight in the cave.
Hahaha, impressive isn't the word I'd use ..... but it WAS nice to have one on us for a change
Dude that section looks gorgeous and like so much fun! Awesome you got to explore it. Really excellent drone work as well
Thanks dude! Yeah, the Central Oregon Cascades are spectacular
Awesome video, glad I came upon your channel. My crew will be doing the ORBDR in the end of September.

Yeah, I bet Fall is a great season for camping in SoCal!
@WheretoNextOverland temps are just right. Mtns will cool to 50s 60s during the day and 30s at night. Plus bugs will calm down so that's a big plus.

I always think I'm going to run into a bear or mountain lion when I go into caves. I may have stayed at the entrance too 😅
That would certainly make for a bad day lol
I dint know Christine is scared of the dark get those 1000000000XXXX lumens in there lol. Talk about eat my dust! This was cool guys, adding it on our extensive list 😃
Hahaha. Yeah we need ALL the lumens, for sure!
.GPX files for this route (and all of the Backcountry Discovery Routes) can be found at www.ridebdr.com
I think this was truly the dustiest we have every gotten. We definitely changed our air filter after this trip 😂
Can’t wait for our next trip!
Never have I ever been so glad to be the lead vehicle as on this day. Lol

I love how you add the doggos to the show
Can't not give 'em a cameo!
Looks amazing!!
Most definitely. The central Oregon Cascades never disappoint!
You totally missed out on cache creek toll station!
Oh man! Just looked that up. We definitely did miss that. A good excuse to go back
What map/gps app are you using? Did you get the maps and/or trax from the BDR site?
Yep, downloaded the .GPX file file straight from the BDR site (ridebdr.com) and then imported it into both Gaia GPS and our Garmin. Super easy!
I was stationed in Washington state. I miss it. Trying to go bacl
It's pretty awesome up here, that's for sure! Well, at least in the summer...

Not to mention, deadly gasses…
I’ll always pass unknown caves in the wilderness just because I don’t know what kind of gas is stagnant in there…
This cave definitely falls under "known point of interest" more so than random cave in the wilderness.
Do you guys use ONX for this? Can’t find that trail on there!

The fire was destructive but nowhere near 1,000,000 acres.
Guess that's what I get for trusting the internet!

Who cares about "making time" when you are out in the brush? The slower I go the better. But then, I am 77 years old.
Stupid 'work' ... always cutting our adventures short!
