WTH? "Stay away from Tony." is the only advice they can give Christine after Tony accuses her of wearing a wire. These people don't play. She should have been hidden until after her testimony and then moved into witness protection. Obviously, law enforcement doesn't value the lives of their star witnesses.
"If I'm not right back, I'm in the morgue." She never returned. Yeah I wouldn't have waited for the call from her mother to be concerned... A lot of confedential informants (CIs) are looked at as criminals who are just saving their own butts to reduce their own time, and are expendable, renewable resources (just arrest someone else for something; drug laws in MO are insanely strict, with 1st time possession netting you half a decade in prison; most people would squeal.)
I think attempted murder should net an equal sentence as a murder conviction. They are just as dangerous to the victim as they would have been had they succeeded in their crime. They should not be rewarded for being a bad murderer.
We remember someone said they have to give them that glimmer of hope with sentencing. Maybe prisons would become too dangerous if people felt there was no hope. They body cavity search everyone going in, but they can make shanks out of anything and thrust them thru the cells.
9:11 "If we had a witness to him doing a crime, they simply wouldn't come forward or they would back out of the case. No one wanted to talk about it because they were afraid of what he might do to them." So, basically, people were afraid of being the cop's/FBI's next pawn, like Christine Elkins. She was used by the cops and then dismissed her after she wasn't useful enough to them. And they neither offered nor gave protection in ANY shape or form to her! These are the people who not only were SUPPOSED to keep her safe, but the SAME people who turned her into their own sacrificial lamb and put her in jeopardy for THEIR benefit! Hell, it took them YEARS of knowing she'd "mysteriously disappeared" RIGHT after their failed wired session, before they gave enough of a damn to actually START looking for her! Shows what their priorities are and how much they really care about people, including their informants who literally risk their lives for them! 🙄🤦♀️🤬🤬🤬
One good thing you can say about most murderers is that they are very thrifty people, always saving what's left of their tape and rope. After all, you never know when you might need those items again, plus it saves another trip to Walmart!
Well, those are just the lazy ones and incredibly helpful too detectives... I came here o see if anyone else laughed and thought hithenbokem or however you spell it was a made up name,Like Rumpelstiltskin? Anyway really got to be very out of their minds to commit these horrible acts, it's one thing to be emotionally hurt and feel like you need to correct the feeling by hurting the one who hurt you...but to go as far as to commit murder. Or any physical act of aggression against another... Go get help, hurting the other person is actually why they were right to leave you in the first place, and they prove that they are unworthy of that person.dah!
I wonder why Christine went to Tony's house knowing how dangerous he was? I think it's obvious that she knew how dangerous he was or she would not have told her friend, "If I'm not back in a certain length of time look for me in the morgue." That would have been an EXCELLENT time for her to decide not to go. And Tony was bone stupid. He carefully considered all of his options and decided he would rather go to prison for murder than for dealing drugs? Real smart, Tony. The one and only Homicide Hunter (Lt. Joe Kenda) said he was glad criminals were so stupid because if they were smarter they would be a lot harder to catch.

Yeah, that sounds like a line. They say stuff means heroin. She has to go in and act normal. It sounds like a movie. Anyway wearing wires they say's dangerous! People thought we were wanting to do that when we tried to tell where we found all these bodies. But those people are still dangerous and don't want us to tell where the bodies are. No one would listen to us anyway. Guess we were being stalked by hit men so bad we didn't care and had tried to tell. They're bikers apparently probably that cross country gang that killed the woman on that one TV show outta CA.

I totally agree. How could they just leave her with no protection especially knowing how the cousins worked, evil. Very disturbing
Though she risked it for herself for the purpose of getting a lenient sentence when she was caught dealing meth, didn't she?
"They urged her to stay away from Tony." That's some stellar witness protection ya got there, Lou.

Yea this really pisses me off. They want someone to do the dirty work for them and offer no protection program when she was in obvious danger😖
The woman Christine should have been in protective custody. Crackerjack cops you got there.

Just because you're stuck with a name like Chester Higginbottom, that's no excuse to kill somebody
These cops may has well murdered the woman themselves. This kind of police work is disgusting. She was a mother.
hard for me to feel bad for a missing drug dealer..to hell with her
