Fijian construction worker becomes Japanese Olympian

Kameli Soejima is now a iconic figure for the Brave Blossoms 7s national side, after his amazing story took him from native Fiji to Japan and all the way to the Olympics in Japanese colours, even after he almost quit. Soejima suffered a horrific injury after tearing his ACL that almost cost him his entire career.

I have the most upright respect for this man. He worked hard, chased his dreams and never gave up. I've also had a torn ACL into my freshman year of college and it wasn't the best watching your team play and you're stuck on the sideline. By the time this video ended, it felt like I watched a super hero movie🔥🔥🔥

Well done piece. Soejima is definitely one of the best. When I first got into rugby sevens, he was one of the ones I always looked forward to playing. What a great character, hard work, determination, definitely makes his family and country proud.
