Sonic Omens (previously named "Sonic 2020") is a platform fan game developed by a collaboration of Russian developers called "Mania team" lead by Alex Dmitriev aka Bolt, which was later disbanded and merged with "Ouroboros Studio". The game is available only on thePC platform, and only for Windows operating system. - บันเทิง
This is what happens when you unironically say a fangame is "better than the official games", or "SeGa, HiRe ThIs MaN!1!11!" The moment a fangame is made with the intention of spite instead of love and passion should be giving out red flags.
Fangames should be treated as fun distractions, NOT official games. I will give P-06 and Triple Trouble 16-bit an exception but the rest (including GT) are just fun distractions

I dunno, one infamous high profile fan game versus the parent company’s history of bad decisions. I agree Omens is bad, but the mocking of “Sega hire this guy!” Won’t really be justified until we get an 06 tier bomb from a well documented fan project. I guess I could say Omens is the Shadow the Hedgehog tier bomb. Which for me is less fun than 06, but it’s not as horribly unpolished I guess

The fact that the voice actor was struggling and his team members did nothing but make fun of him and have him rage quit just shows how much of a bad person their team is. I hope the voice actor is ok.

Basically, it was revealed after that the devs thought the voice actor was just acting (as that was something he does with his TH-cam content). They apologized (I know, right?) to him and made up.

Well done, NitPicker. This game is an absolute mess and we can all finally move on from this mess.
I’m not one for DMCA takedowns for fan games, but can we make an exception for this one? This actually can do serious damage to the brand.
So glad people are *finally* realizing what we’ve been saying for well over a year now. And oh boy, I haven’t been so angry in years until I read that document. Let’s just do what you say at the end and just forget about this game. They clearly want the attention.
If time travel existed but only one use, the thing I would use it for is making sure whoever the hell made this game does not get born, either that or just make sure sonic omens is never made.
Some people actually love this game and think it's better than anything Sega ever made. Honestly, they sound like they didn't actually play the game at all and praised it based on what they saw and think, and probably did so out of spite for Sega too.
As much shit as Sonic 06 (and Boom) got, it has more redeeming qualities then this sack of beaten horse meat of a game.

Honestly a fitting and deserved end considering how he literally says that everyone except Sonic were worthless like that is the moment when everyone agreed that Chris Thorndyke was the absolute worst, even in the original japanese version of Sonic X.
If theres one thing Sonic Omens did right is that it gave me hope for Frontiers. Not expecting a Yoko Taro game like Automata or Replicant bit i have hope that Sonic Frontiers could be good if not great because the developers seem like decent people unlike Ouroboros Studios who honestly would be perfect Konami executives just from the information.
If they were going to reference Sonic X then why not bring back the Sonic X character the community wants?

Seriously though, if folks really wanted a 3D Sonic fangame to tie them over, we already had SRB2 which has been in development since *1998* and is still being worked on to this day even in its slightly incomplete state. Seriously, even if you've beaten the game multiple times, there's still the mods/addons that change up the game in different ways be it new characters, levels, abilities or even simple changes like the UI, monitors enemies sound effects or even music on top of the base game content.
The only people who don't like Sonic Omens, have never actually played it.

Sonic Omens have so much potential until when you read the document it changes everything you know about the game. I'm sorry for the voice actor of Eggman working for a really bad team. I want a game that shows some love to the game and to the team who worked on it. Sonic Omens is just a disaster of distraction from what really going on behind the scenes.
This game was meant to be a love letter to all of the 3D Sonic games, but all it really was was a love letter to Bolt's erection.
Underrated comment with the Maria texture crap
Sonic Robo Blast is one of the first Sonic fan games, and while it's mostly aged terribly, I'd rather play that than this game. Omens may be an objectively better game, but SRB feels genuine and comes from fans that truly cared. (Forgive my gushing, I just wanted to air out my frustrations with the developers.)

Yeah, we’ll keep in mind though that Sonic Forces is Generic with Nostalgia pandering while 06 does actually tried to have an engaging story despite being convoluted. Though Forces only received mixed reviews.

As of my thoughts on his video? I fully 100% disagree with it as it is full of inaccuracies and contradictions but I will not be talking about it because I simply do not want to, believe me I watched it
Now with Frontiers just outright not only showing the Chaos emeralds still exists, AND made a story that expands the lore on them more, Sonic Omens no longer has any reason to exist!
I have no idea why some people would think all of that legal stuff is okay. Everything Ouroboros Studios is doing is still Copyright Infringement at the end of the day, there is no excuse for it. If this were an IP owned under Nintendos house. They'ed sue them and go for their throats (or just shut it all down and just send a Cease and Desist, I mostly exaggerate here lol) I haven't been keeping up with this fan game at all in particullar. But if they're still getting away with it, something huge might happen to them in the future.
1:28: And yet this is outdated because you can just find the Chaos Emeralds in both games the same way you could in the genesis games.
Edit: Oh and also while Weight of the World is slammin’, it ain’t Fly With Me from Sonic and Tails R, which had a way better story by the way.

The people that developed this game are horrible awful people! the fact that they don’t care about taking criticism into consideration of fixing their game, disrespecting the voice actors, scamming you for your money on a copyright IP, sexualizing a 12 year old girl and Shadow’s closet friend, stealing music from games that aren’t even from Sonic, spreading lies, harassing and encouraging people to criticize people that dares to not like the game really tells you that this game is not worth playing and that they need to be put in jail. I can see why Sega’s been trying to shut them down.

Little did everyone know frontiers is actually good for 60 people working on it with free dlc with playable characters and with technically only 1 year to make it because it might have even taken 4 years to just get a solid concept

I’ve supported the creators for the longest time, but they’ve ran out of chances. The final build was a downgrade in terms of polish, and the dev team has lost my respect.
People have suggested that the doc was forged but there’s too much evidence that debunks that claim.
Interestingly enough, first four episodes now work better (I play on low specs laptop so I can notice that) except for White Jungle. The level, not entire episode. It gets worse and worse every time they release new builds. And newer ones have the same issues that previous releases had like memory leaks on bosses.

Sonic X isn't even canon, even as a person who hasn't played alot of sonic games (know some parts of the weird af lore) I knew that so why?
I'm fine with fangames based on Sonic's shows and comics, but with Omens, it feels haphazardly sharted out over the game timeline

I think it’s a good fan game, despite its problems I think it’s still looks enjoyable to play, and I don’t think the level design is as bad as people say. Don’t get me wrong i can see why people say it sucks, I’m not saying I think every level is good. There’s some cool moments in the story and a lot of cool ideas, plus the game looks nice, and I like the music they used, despite one of them being taken... That and how John can’t take criticism and all the bad they have done, I didn’t know about all that before and its awful, can definitely see why they are hated. Overall I’d say the game looks fun, definitely could be improved, tho mean heck I’d take this fan game over then playing sonic boom rise of lyric or sonic forces or a lot of other bad sonic games. That being said, again after hearing all the bad I’m glad I was just able to watch people play the game and watch the cuteness despite how weird and ridiculous the story is. I can remember my reaction to seeing one of the characters XD “What the F…? SO- oh uh *coughs* I mean Chris!?” Anyways nice video, glad we are getting a new trailer for Sonic frontiers, hoping it’s a good one and that we finally get some more story stuff and of course new gameplay. 💙

If they wanted to take inspiration from sonic x, why not set it in sonic x? Or at least make a universe that takes place in sonic x, it’s like if you tried to connect satam sonic with aosth, it doesn’t work! Mixing a different continuity into the main continuity barley works, you’d have to change the background and lore of the game universe for that to work! The plot holes, my god, the plot holes that will arise!

Uh, automation is a key part in sonic, it helps sonic do stuff that would be hard to do by yourself, so removing that would be bad, so yeah, go play it yourself you wuss (lol)
@@omarkabir3760 if i were ya i would check my content. Any speedrun does not use automated paths, i skip them (when it is possible to do so.) And automations are just for the players with bad skill or new to sonic games, i do not support the automation at all. Or else just remive automations when possible via a difficulty system so everyone is happy.
I’m not talking about games like forces, im talking about games like unleashed.

@@omarkabir3760 you consider this game bad because you can't play anything yourself. Because there are no automation so you have to press a button to clear the stage fully. That's what i think people complain about. They have skill issue and die in this game and asks the devs to add automations when there are absolutely NO NEED to do so.
