I met a women at the airport two weeks ago. Her daughter is a producer on the show and she said they started filming earlier and have more footage than ever this year. Sounded like lots of finds! This is the year!
Filming since May! Should be a great Season!
I hope they have more footage cuz I couldn't help but notice that they were short of it last year. It was obvious they were stretching things to fill an hour.

sorry but i find big drilling equipment kinda boring, no pun inteded lol... unlikely you would use anything like that to excavate ground containing anything of potential value.
just to keep those in the treasure camp happy i guess lol... or perhaps another last ditch effort, to conclude season 12.
If there is a void found by the 6" core that is down into the bedrock, this is how you get a caisson down into it for exploration. IMHO
New equipment always interesting to see and find out how they expect to help

Do you think they would get in any trouble if they brought up the Arc of the Covenant smashed to pieces????? Wouldn't Israel be a little upset about that? They probably have American made missiles that could reach Oak Island? What a season finale that would be!!
haha yeah everyone might be a little upset but That is why they have to stop when they hit a cavity. Send down a camera and look before pushing through it.
Nah, everyone knows that's buried under the mesa at Skinwalker Ranch anyway! ;)
@@Jfree906 The problem is the oscillator will put so much pressure on the ceiling of the void that it will collapse on to the "goodies". So even if they stop when the pressure releases, the damage may have been done already.
Better use a small bore hole and a camera first to know when to stop. Then maybe a slightly larger bore and a camera drone to explore. With some flocculant to clear the water.
But since this stuff is going across so late in the season, I think we are going to see a lot of "bobbie dazzlers" or Carmen Legg episodes before we get to this stuff!

How could the people that created it get under the bedrock?
As I mentioned in the podcast last night, the Templar, if they were involved, carved into bedrock to make their tunnels and vaults. They were the best at it for the times.
Could the new drill be used for horizontal drilling?
Yes they can from what little I know but I don't believe that is what the intent here on Oak Island is. At least not yet.

Yes they tried the Airlift method in 10X back in like season 1 or 2. Didn't get anything of significance.

What if they end up cutting into something that is of historical significance, how do you stop in time ??
That is the biggest problem. They try to stop when they have little resistance, as in breaking through into a void, and send a camera down.
I believe they can monitor drill pressure same as they do for caissons. That combined with operator experience should enable them to know when to stop and explore

I think that was a fluke hit and not at all what the production company made it out to be. Not the fault of the guys but production.

IMO this is being used for vertical shaft. Time will tell.
@@tomburns1572 I believe it will be used first vertically as well. Then possibly horizontally and at an angle. That is the best way to reach into Alladin's cave and the baby blob. I think we get too hung up on shaft and tunnels being vertical and horizontal. They are really the same thing just with a different angle :-)
If they hit a big jackpot, how much would they get to keep and how much would the government take?
There is an agreement in place under the Oak Island Treasure Act of 2010. From what I recall they are required to report all details of any "treasure" found. If I recall correctly 90%, however, if what they find is of historical significance, certain factors come into play. Did you know the only official treasure discovered was during season 11. Found on Lot 5. Silver item
@@tomburns1572 Under Nova Scotia law, are all of the "permits" they have to get a matter of public record like they would be in the USA? Some research into those could provide useful information. In the USA, that would be a "freedom of information act" search. Not sure in Nova Scotia.

They have done so much exploratory drilling I think the chance for a big dig is small UNLESS it reveals something of significance
