i really dont like how some japanese ver of their songs use "watashi" (the male version) instead of "atashi" which is the preferred version for females

"Watashi" can be used by males and females and "atashi" should only be used by females. So itzy isn't wrong for using "watashi" if they used "atashi" then they'd be expressing and emphasizing on cuteness and feminity. But if males used "atashi" then they'd be wrong for that

Watashi 私 is gender netural. In japan girls use watashi. It's rare to use atashi

You realize that Japanese people write these lyrics? Maybe think about how they know more about the language? "atashi" is female specific because women were supposed to make their speech sound softer (good old misogyny), "watashi" is gender neutral, "boku" would be the male version, and even that is changing as sometimes it's used by women as a stylistic choice to show more strength 🤦🏻‍♀️
