    Strictly as a hypothetical: Could a president with immunity, have two or three Supreme Court justices liquidated for the purpose of changing the political balance of the Court? 🤷🏼

    The fact the electoral college has not been eliminated by now, is absolutely bizarre to me. I feel like our country can't really move forward until this is addressed.

    We barely held on to our democracy in 2020 but we did do it. Let's make sure it is held onto in 2024 by showing up in numbers that cannot be denied by any republican candidate and making it clear that the U.S.A. will remain the benchmark across the free world of a vibrant and clear democracy. Then we need to work on getting rid of the outdated Electoral College system that caused the disaster of GW Bush and the orange Mussolini.

    Outside agitators? During the Vietnam era, I was not enrolled in a college so I went to a college to protest because that's where the protests were. I did not consider myself an "outside agitator".

    • @umasobservations
      @umasobservations 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      From what I've read there were outside organizations showing up, not just individuals showing up to support. Perhaps giving everyone their own public squares via the Internet has unintended consequences. The word cacophony seems to apply.

      I'll take a shot. The billionaire class that runs the GOP (and many of the Democrats too) wants to keep voters divided, so they can advance their interests.

    There seems to be a slight shift in some of our Republican representatives total support for Trump lately. The passage of the budget for Ukraine aid as an example. Could you interview a historian that can explain how in the 50's, Joe McCarthy's strangle hold of the senate, began to slide, and how that might look in today's era of Trump?

    Does the comment that our economy is strong because of immigration in the context of talking about illegal immigration show that the point of guest workers is low wages?

      My friends who own small businesses are MAGA and hire undocumented workers. They say they "have to" to stay in business. Lower wages, no payroll taxes, no benefits, no law suits, pure greed. One way to think about immigration is that it costs about $250K on average to raise a child in USA. With immigration, we get workers/taxpayers for free. The equation is even better for foreign students who pay full price for college.

      The point is that immigrants do the work that most Americans won’t… look around and see who does the service work as in lawn maintenance, housecleaning, painting, and some skilled repair as in electrical and handyman… all immigrants. They work hard and are polite. I see almost no “Americans…”

    Is the stress not me being heard or any of us but watching literally in real time others believing the lies? Ppl we all care about, love, wish to have a conversation?
