Great review, thanks mate. I've been watching your channel for quite a while and you're fast becoming one of the best reviewers on TH-cam - concise, really informative and honest. Perfect for someone trying to make a decision on which shoe to buy. A real bonus too, is the bird-song in the background of most of your vids. Thanks again and keep up the great work.
Thanks heaps mate!
Another in depth and useful review. Fine work.
@@Decisions4u Thankyou!
I have both and both are great shoes and comfortable on your feet for all day long wear. For me, at 58 yrs old, 5'10", 190 pounds, recreational jogger, but do HIIT style workouts 4 times a week, I prefer the stability of the NovaBlast 4's. I did need to buy a wide in the NovaBlast 4, whereas did not need to in the Rebel v4's.
@@Decisions4u thanks for sharing!
If you are able, I would like to see a comparison between the Asics NovaBlast 4 vs the New Balance Fresh Foam X v13. Ride, fit, stability, and outsole grip in wet weather. Keep of the fine work and thank you for your reviews.
Would either work for speed walking or half jog at a good pace for a little then walk some . Trying to get back to where I. was in December before total knee replacement surgery or should I go with new balance more v4 or 1080v13. Or other suggestions. I need them to be under 8mm , preferably 4 to 5 mm drop
I'd be leaning towards the Rebel for the speed walking stuff due to the light weight of the shoe. The Novablast is going to be the more comfortable, stable and last longer if that's a concern for you?
If any shoe can be said to have 'magic' it's the Rebel v4. 😎
Thanks for the comment!
the NOVABLAST 4 enhancements is now sort of comparable to the 1080 V13...also bears similarities now with nimbus 25/26 with adding more foam and plushness
Thanks for the comment!
Appreciate how you’ve described the rides. Q: do you find the nova v4 ride different than its predecessor v3
Yes I find it very different. The foam in the 4 is much more dense and feels like it has more "guts", overall a more solid feeling shoe but still has the same sort of feedback where the bounce comes from. I find the 3 very spongey and less dense. I bottomed out the 3 in the forefoot after about 200km. I prefer the ride in the 4.
Thanks for the comment!
great review!
Thanks!!
After 700 km with invincible 3 ,, i decided to buy nova 4,, today i ran 8 km and for me it's terrible, too much ground contact and i feel very tired,, the funny thing that i ran in pist,, i test it about pace 5:30 to 4:30 it was not good for me at all,, i don't know if i contniue with it, it will get better or no
Thanks for sharing your experience!
What do you think? Is it my problem or maybe after 40-50 km it will get better?
@@nimamou I think its because you have run so much in the Invincible, which is the bounciest running shoe ever made. Any shoe you run in after the invincible will probably feel a bit boring and lifeless as you could be perceiving the ride as firm or too much ground feel. When the first Invincible was released I loved the soft bouncy ride so much I ended up running in them all of the time and it actually ruined my experience in other shoes - even racing super shoes didn't feel so special.
To answer your question, yes they will start to feel really good if you stop wearing the Invincible and you reset your softness scale.
Thank you so much for your fully complete answer 🙏🏼
I agree with you bro I have 900 k on peg I decided to try nova 4 its really terrible you feel ground and no more energy return ,narrow in fore foot considering nova blast 4 overhyped
Does the rebel better for speed session?
@@geridsyanriyulius9696 yes for sure!
@@run-are thank you man, my All Black Rebel v4 is on the way HAHA
@@geridsyanriyulius9696 black on black 🔥
I'm a 9 in my street shoes (vans, adidas,...). I go a half size up in Kinvaras (9.5) for running. How does the rebel fit? Would I be good with a 9 or 9.5?
Rebel is true to size with a wide toebox, meaning the length will be very close to the Kinvara in the same size 9.5 but will be wider. Hopefully that helps?
I usually upsized to accommodate for the potential feet swelling. But with a wider toe box does that mean the 9 should work?
I’ve just always upsized half a size out of habit but was wondering if that was necessary with this shoe.
@@harrygoldsmith6792 I'd hate to tell you yes it would be ok and the shoe be too small for you. If you have a chance to go try it on that would be best.
Is possible to use Rebel v4 for FM?
I am guessing FM is a Marathon? If so it depends...Are you running the marathon just to finish or racing/going for a certain time?
I'd go for something with some more cushion and a plate.
@@run-are FM i mean full marathon 42K, i know for race day better more cushion than this
But i ask, is still comfortable for long run until 42 KM?
I confuse to take this one or Boston 12 😄
Hi man sorry for the bother but just wanted to know witch of these shoes were better for easy runs plus I wanted to know witch one has less ground contact feel since I’m trying to overcome injuries on my knees I want the foam to be soft but not too soft I had the novablast 3 but that one I didn’t like
@@gonzaloespinoza5426 Hi mate, personally I think the Novablast 4 is the better for easy runs and has far less ground contact feel. It offers great protection from the road and is pretty stable. It certainly feels more guttsy than the Novablast 3.
@@run-are thank u for getting back at me and yeah I want a recovery shoe I just don’t know wat to get I’ve had the novablast 1 2 and 3 I feel like the 3 I just didn’t like it was way to much ground contact feel and I want something that is squishy but that u don’t feel the ground my knees have been hurting so I feel like I just don’t have a easy day shoe so my body is not recovering that good
pegasus 41 vs nb rebel 4 please
@@marknoelursabia7071 Rebel v4 much better shoe, it's a no contest
who is better bro?
@@PrinceAtcha-e6b Nova for daily miles
Do you wear the same size in both shoes?
Yes both 8.5 US
@@run-areup size or true to size?

Gut choice thou
I honestly can't pick...both awesome shoes!
The New Balance Rebel v4 is NOT true to size at all... Try them on before you buy them
