1929 Ford AA Tow Truck In Action: Part 4: On the Move!

  • After the front end became light in Part 3, I had to take some weight off the wrecker and do more of a flat tow. My video man, CabCorner1, had to ride along and steer the flatbed. After a slow start we were moving. A lot of jockeying and tire spin and we get the flatbed backed up close to the barn. If the truck seems to tow easier at 1:30 because that's when it finally runs over the wheel we had thrown in front of the right rear to act as a wheel chock. Obviously, we forgot to remove it before trying to tow!

    All you had to do is jack either side of the truck up, put wood under the wheels, (preferably pieces of RR tie), do the other side up, repeat rr tie, wind up the winch, pull the truck off of the blocks, and off you go.
