Right I’m like is this real? Why have i never seen this before… but My eyes were not fully convinced by how the light of the landscape was interacting (or not) with the craft. That was the giveaway to me.
For a second I was wondering why I’ve never heard of this before until now. Then I saw the view from the runway and realized this was a computer rendering. However the approach to the runway view was pretty damn good that I couldn’t tell the difference until it landed. Good job.
Also, these are actual proposals from people that were not accepted geniunenly (except from the real life event simulations)

Well first of all its a delta wing, it does not have flaps. Second, it is suposed to be a unmanned vehicle , so no windows requierd.

I think the movement of the camera is actually be real and only the spaceship itself is CGI. Why should you render something when you could just film it because it actually exists.
@@juschu85 the movement of the camera emulating a real camera man is usually used in renders and it can be done with some design software. I know because i'm a 3d artist.

The 'nervous cam' aspect is a way way old and overused hack.
I didn't realize it was a CG landing until I saw the view from immediately off the runway as it landed. It was then I realized they wouldn't have a person standing THAT close to the runway! Excellent rendering!

@@gusgus9963 Two reasons: 1. A remotely controlled camera on a tripod would not be panning as smoothly as this one was. 2. They would never have an obstacle along the runway that close to a landing aircraft!

Good render, but the vehicle is moving way too slowly during landing. Watch a Shuttle landing for reference, the speeds are very high. Wing lift increases with speed. (The wings are not very efficient and are minimal in size to reduce weight. This isn't a passenger aircraft, it's a flying shipping container. The Space Shuttle was often described as a flying brick, at least in terms of its aerodynamic efficiency. Think of that when modeling and determining landing speed.)

Starship already lands using wings, it just flips bottom to earth right before impact and lands vertically on engines.

@@a3bilbaneo842 You'd have to go to putting a hydrocarbon in the wings to maintain propellant ratios, but a winged craft while more complex allows more control during reentry and glideback, lower thermal loads during reentry allowing more return payload, and obviates the need to preserve large propellant reserves for descent and landing. If Space X doesn't go there, their competition eventually will.

I gotta say this is a masterful job! I usually can tell right off the bat that it’s CGI. They had me fooled. The lighting and everything was on point!even the wheels hitting the ground was on point. I was a bit curious that someone was standing that close to the landing. Other than that, it was perfect! It’s getting harder and harder and harder to know what’s real and fact in these videos!

Never? Boeing couldn’t deliver a working non reusable crew capsule years overdue and billions of dollars over budget. This great animation is likely further than Boeing could get in a decade and several hundred million dollars.
At first, I thought 'this has to be a render', then it looked quite realistic and I was shocked....only by the end scene could I tell for sure.

Yeah, the shuttle was a glider during landing. The problem was to slow down, the runway is only 3 miles.
This may be AI'd from an actual shuttle landing. Chase plane, telephoto lenses on the ground. I think there were 3 chutes, but they would make the engine mods harder and practically invisible. Easier to erase then replace.
If based on original shuttle landing video, the shuttle always landed with a couple of escort jets and they were audible in the background. Also, any object moving through the air quickly creates a 'whooshing' sound. The bigger it is, the louder it is.
