I totally understand you about being a high achiever, I know people would be happy with the grades I got, but from my work ethic and how hard I have worked AND the mock grades and assessment grades I got, I deserved better - and so did you. But just know that these grades don’t define you and I know you are going to be amazing at Warwick so congratulations and I hope the appeals go well!

I've uploaded my live reaction to A Levels too, and I got an A* the Year 12 mock and the year 13 mock yet ended up with an A because of the government! Fortunately I got into my first choice uni so I was so happy. Warwick is such an amazing uni I spent so much time using the library there :)

It’s so annoying how the government is doing this to students, u have every right to feel upset. I’m so worried about year 12 because I have to do the whole of maths syllabus in one year and then do whole of further maths in year 13. Idk how I’ll do further maths in just one year, u did it for two years right? Any tips for further maths?
Ah yes, I was going to do my further maths this way and was worried about it too but when I moved back to my school we ended up doing 2 years maths and FM. I think what you’ll do is, instead of having, say, 5 hours maths and 5 hours FM a week, it’ll be 10 hours of maths that week. That way you’ll be able to cover the entire maths syllabus in year 12 - it’ll just be a lot more intense for you as you’ll have 1 year to cover FM in the same way. What I will strongly say is, it’ll get very tough. But stick it out - it’ll be so worth it at the end. With the process you’re doing, many people tend to drop out because of the intensity, but try and stay on top of everything if you can. At the start of year 12 I was doing maths and FM the same way you will be and found it hard, the teacher ended up telling me FM may not be for you as I was finding it hard. I stuck it out and ended up with an A even though it was so hard for me. Whereas at that school, most people dropped out. I believe in you, just don’t give up! Omg my heart felt for you when you started crying 🥺 this system is ridiculous and they should be looking at grades on a one to one basis, and not passed through an algorithm. But I hope you will feel better after appealing, and even if that does not work out those grades are still amazing!! Also well done for getting into Warwick you should definitely be proud of yourself :))
You are absolutely right, the system has robbed so many of us - especially those of us who go to state schools in more deprived areas! But thank you so much angel, you should be incredibly proud of yourself too! You absolutely smashed it! Ps, I’m from Notts, so congrats on getting into UoN and hopefully see you around !♥️♥️

I’m in year 11 and it’s GCSE results day next week... these tories better sort their sheet out. My school will be classed as disadvantaged and we got a new headteacher so we will be able to appeal if we want to
It’s really frustrating how this massively benefits private school kids and puts state school kids (especially in a disadvantaged area) in such a bad position. I’ll be praying for you, I know you’ll do great, but fight for your appeals if you have to!!♥️
