As a Los Angeles photographer I have been able to work with a lot of latex for different magazines so I really appreciate it when someone can really work with latex you did an excellent job looks fabulous!
Thank you for going through the process in such great detail. It's so handy to hear how cutting the shape again helped to tuck in the back of the latex. Also seeing the mistakes is a much better way to learn so don't be to hard on yourself. Keep up the great work.
The solvent is Bestine rubber cement solvent and thinner (check my Amazon link in the description) and the glue is a solvent based latex adhesive from MJ Trends.
The first attempt wasn't that bad for my taste, but all the effort for version 2.0 was really worth it. The dress looks fantastic! Truly an outstanding piece of work.
I have to say huge props to you for going over your mistakes and going back and fixing them too. I get so frustrated when this happens myself....and I often dont bother fixing existing garments haha
You have talent and patience that I could only dream of. I'm one of those guys that can't even properly sew a button back on a shirt and I watch you do this so easily. Just amazing work.
Geez girl that is some detailed work. Looks amazing. Its really spooky how you got a skirt made of that material to have pleats in it. Thats crazy cool. You are amazing and you look beautiful.
"I'll stop wearing black when they make a darker color" 🖤 It fits you perfectly, worth all the hard work you put into it. I like your idea for making a glue spreader from a plastic palette knife, I need to make one for myself.
the final product looks (and fits) great! the extra effort was definitely worth it :D have you ever made a tutorial or gone in-depth on patterning things out for latex? I’d love to know your approach
Wow the final result looks fantastic! It's so cool to see the process of improving each piece individually along with your skill and technique improving with each new project. Great work, very informative and interesting process, 10/10 no notes (:
By the way if you like making mistakes, like I do, you should use Bostik 3851 latex glue. It is a whole different procedure. It dries very fast for instant strong sticking but still needs a good day to cure fully. I often push seams together and try on as I go, and if something doesn't fit right, it can be pulled apart fairly easily if only just glued and recut. As latex is expensive, I always make things too big to begin with to be cautious, as you can always take away, but adding is much harder and ruins the look.
Learning a lot from your videos. I use tissue for spreading mineral spirit to clean talc off of seams. It's good for a few wipes before using another piece. As it's only tissue it's cheap to dispose of.
Great video, thanks for sharing your process. Sharing the mistakes takes courage, we learn more from our mistakes. Looking forward to your next latex video :)
Bravo. Very inspired. Speaking of props, I would love to see you go to your various Halloween parties with an actual “thing“ hand mounted to your left shoulder, just like the thumbnail. I was opening the video, hoping that you had gone that far. And when you didn’t, I was very impressed with your work. But really hoping for that prop. There’s still tons of time left to do it if you’re considering it!
It looks like you use 1 cm seam allowances and lay down glue 1cm wide as well. If so, that is why your garments are coming out to large - unlike sewing, seam allowances can affect garment size. The fix would be to make you seam allowance exactly half the width of your glue (0.5 cm seam allowance for 1cm glue width).
What an amazing job. I’ve made latex clothing in the past and it’s really a learning experience. Catsuits took me 5 to 6 goes to perfect. You’re way more talented.
Awesome, it was well worth the extra work in my opinion, i know that rubber fabric is really difficult since it bends i like all directions as well as being compressed and put of form again if one try to stich someting onto it... Don't ask me how i happen to know that... ha ha
Having make many things wrongly myself, including some rubber/latex clothes, it was "nice" to see someone else making mistakes! Although the finished dress looked great 😁 Well done
As somebody that owns multiple latex clothing pieces I now understand why it is so expensive. It's not only about material cost but about the labor. I see now how labor intensive and unforgiving latex really is!
Keep up the work. Your work is fascinating, your process of making the outfit with latex pieces is impressive. It's so difficult to manipulate the material and to attach pieces. It's needs to be patient to succeed.
Well done and super tutorial. And next time a version without zipper. Those zipper wrinkles are not very nice, but this counts for all latex clothing with zipper. It's not stretchy after all. Skirt entry or neck entry is preferable. But one hell to put on and off. Like I love it: Seeing the girls struggling to get in/out 😊
I've had the problem with clothes being too wide too for a long time and I also think it was because of my seam allowances. I started out with 1cm allowance on some of the pieces, but now I use 6mm and to achieve that I just add 3mm to everything that is joined to something else, which makes it much easier and less error prone in my opinion. Anyways, I absolutely love the way the chest and the arms turned out. Those are always giving me the biggest headaches
Same.. For me, not so much, for my gf, more complex curves and strains to deal with. Fun material to work with though, and really testing my pattern making skills. Also like the tip with using the palette knife as a spreader. I'd been using shaped tongue depressors but a palette knife looks easier to work with and clean.
I take it the problem with the first attempt being too baggy wasn't an oversight with the seam allowances? I wasn't really concentrating at the start, it wasn't until you tried it on that my brain started thinking. Overall, congrats on the dress at the end, you got some great lines and curves.
You look absolutely spectacular as a latex version of Wednesday Addams.
You're not only skilled, but quite talented as well. That's an excellent creation.

Glad to hear that, I’m always worried I go into too much detail!

You have talent and patience that I could only dream of. I'm one of those guys that can't even properly sew a button back on a shirt and I watch you do this so easily. Just amazing work.
Everything about the dress looks great and it suits you perfectly. You are very very rare to have the talent to make it all yourself.
You did a damn good job with that material, and it looks great on you, keep up the good work.

Love ❤️ the dress! Great job! I loved listening to you narrate your process. More please! ❤
wow, looks awesome, well done... very inspiring 😊
thank you for information of crafting latex
You did a really nice job on this, even with the mistakes and problems. Remember: if we aren't making mistakes, we aren't learning.
That’s true! Wish I could just learn from my mistakes the first time 😂

That is true. I own a lot of leather clothing and they also take a big chunk out of my paycheck maintaining the fabric.
Wow! Stunning 😎👍😊

Have you considered adding labels or dates to your patterns? It's an extra minute with a sharpy to save a lot of confusion later.
Best part of the dress is the facial expression. Very Wednesday.
Wow, that is awsome 🖤

A very nice Wednesday 😂😂😂

You are a true artist, that is the most stunning Wednesday outfit ever 🔥As for ideas for your next video, could you do A2 (to match your 2B)?

It looks amazing to my eyes, I love wednesday cosplay 🖤
Very impressive work, my dear!, your more than just a pretty face❤!
You don't need to clean seams if you apply glue (bostik 3851) with a brush.
You still need to clean the seams from dust and other particles if you want to ensure the longevity of the bond.
Beautiful 😍
