- Since I arrived everybody was telling me to visit and explore northern Pakistan. Even if it was for a short period, I decided to explore and enjoy the SWAT region in North Pakistan. The first town I arrived in had a very special name "Bahrain" which is exactly the same word and meaning as the country Bahrain. It means "between two seas" in this case "between two rivers". I have been welcomed by Tourist Police who helped a lot with the hotel and coordination around the town. Enjoy this long video from Pakistan.

North Pakistan I have seen is totally like this. Peshawar, Rawalpindi etc. South Pakistan, Karachi and all are full of Indians and they are not this welcoming. They have spoilt the culture of Pak.

No actually that police guy was too much . He should have just helped him and would have left him in peace . The guy said many times u can go if u want . It means please give me space ☺️ . Too much they need professional training on how to help tourists and in the same times doesn't become headache for them.

Tourist Police is initiative taken by KP Government recently. In coming future they will have gadgets, vehicles, Tablets, Maps, Tour Guidance and Further Training support for Tourists. Watching this video i felt the Hotel management needs to be Trained for Handling international tourists and customers. Will need to convey this message to KP Tourism Department.

This actually used to be part of Afghanistan before the Sikhs and British came and then it became part of Pakistan.

True, Sikhs only conquered Peshawar, Khyber Pass and its surroundings, it’s the British and then Pakistan who conquered it all.
But keep in mind that it’s first time since pany centuries that a ruler from India conquered parts of Afghanistan (Peshawar used to be the Winter capital of Afghanistan before the Sikhs arrived).

Swat is believed to be derived from Sanskrit language word Suvastu which means clear water, some believe it is from the Arabic word aswad means black because its forests mountains appear black from distance. Swati in Hindi means Pearl. Almost the names of villages and regions of swat and other places in khyber Pukhtun khwa remains the same after the Pashtuns or other Afghans arrived here, they didn’t change it. That’s why we local some time don’t know the meaning of the places’ names.
Bahrain is an arabic word which means 2 oceans
Bahr means ocean and ain means twin in simple language
