Everything about these videos resonate with me! I was into every sport worked out every day ran 5K every day. I was a picture of health and fitness. Literally had a six pack and was very muscular and great physical shape. I herniated my L5 S1 and had to have surgery for full cord compression. this was when I was 20 years old. Now I am 35 years old and I have lived in pain ever since. My life has been put on hold. I miss out on all the fun things and can barely work now I have two kids that I can barely play with. so much of everything in these videos relates to me. I think one of the biggest things that is different about your videos is how much you can relate to what pain is like to live with every day and how it impacts your life. Very well done!
Love this, I’m 67, metabolic age 52 (according to gym scales). I have a coxis that was damaged as a child, which now causes issues if I do sit ups without a mat, broken skin and that oowww moment in the shower! I also have an ankle injury from 30 years ago which has reared its ugly head again when I run. BUT, I know I can work on it and hopefully manage it with the help of some of your videos, SMM, and stability builder. Mindset is a massive thing, taken me years to appreciate that and what my body is actually capable of, for which you guys are partly responsible for, so thank you and hers to fixing me and moving onwards. ❤
"Starting is the hardest part". I can relate because I don't even seem to have arrived to that starting point yet. Too many fears are holding. I had a left knee lateral meniscus tear 3 years ago. I actually felt that I was at my best shape endurance-wise back then - I could run a half marathon, not feel sore afterwards and exercise easily the next day. At that time I was almost 28. From that point on everything got worse. Even though I tried to remain physically active during the first 6 months after the surgery (I continued swimming multiple times a week, I could ride a bike and I did physio 3 times a week), I didn't feel the same. I constantly noticed asymmetries in my body (the left side of my body felt weaker, it seemed that this tiny injury affected all the muscle chains). I was so depressed about the fact that I couldn't run, lift heavy, commute by bike - basically, doing everything I loved without worrying about the fact that my left leg is weaker. After a year of struggling, my opposite leg started to hurt. I had this dull and annoying pain, my leg felt like a cotton candy when I was working out. I couldn't even walk long distances without feeling it. I woke up at night to foam roll. At some point I decided to take it into my own hands (because my physio wouldn't listen to my complaints). So I decided to mobilise my hips doing a hip mobility yoga routine I normally did after my runs. It worked out terribly because I pulled my back so much that I stayed in bed for almost a week. I rehabbed it in 5 weeks but then I pulled it again when I was standing up from washing the floor. Ever since I have a lower back pain almost daily, also my left sacroiliac joint hurts (I have L3-L4, L4-L5, L5-S1 protrusions). It's so debilitating, I feel like I've lost everything I've been working at. I gave up the idea of becoming a physiotherapist because I imagined myself as a fit and active practitioner. And I keep wondering if I'll ever regain my leg strength, if it's not too late to regain my atrophied leg and glutes muscles on the left side and most importantly how to do it if my back hurts and I'm afraid to lift. It feels sad that I can't go on long hikes anymore because my back doesn't tolerate heavy backpacks (I wanted to finish Camino that I started when I was younger). And it's also frustrating when my physio says that he doesn't recommend cycling (I agree in a way because my back didn't like it when I tried that 5 months after my back injury). I feel like there are so many limitations now and that I'm not living my own life anymore. Thank you for having this conversation and reading my comment if you did!
My best decision is starting the SMM. A lot of things to work on and I am still about to ask some "stupid" questions in the FB group. But with over a year of shoulder and back pain, including an MRI which showed herniation in a lumbar disc and some protusions in the neck I can say for the first time I feel relief and actually getting better with every session.
Loving this...I'm 53 and have a cyclocross race later. I do a lot of your recommended exercises every morning and they really help. Recently I crashed my bike and landed heavily on my shoulder...no idea why I didn't break anything but sore for weeks! I've used those shoulder exercises (no idea what you call them but the ones from wrestling,) since then and wow they're good. Only on 5kg right now but I'll build up. My other problem is tendinitis n my left elbow...I have labradors and hold the leads in my left hand...not hard to work out is it? Just wondered if you have any good elbow exercises? Lastly I'm convinced that 90:90s help me in cuclocross races where you have to jump on and off the bike! Sorry for the essay keep inspiring people!
Ageism is more prevalent than you think. Two people same issue. Older person 68 v 37 is told to lay low. It’s your age catching up to you. My opinion that is BS. Your take?
Can definitely take longer when you’re older to make a change or improve something, especially if it’s been a certain way for many years but it doesn’t make it not worth doing, and definitely doesn’t mean it’s not important, I get really frustrated when I hear people being written off because of their age
Hi ❤ thank you for all you do. I hope you see this question- I tore my left hip (up and down tear) 10 years ago and have had to use a walking stick since. I’m in constant pain with my hip and have limited movement. It’s caused me to gain 60kg from this, what can I do please? Oh, I have hip dysplasia also from an assault where my hips were dislocated and my friend and I put them back in, I was too ashamed to go to the hospital. Is there anything I can do? Thank you again for all you do 💚
getting started with some basic joint circles will be great! Making circles with every joint you can think of, start at your head/neack, moving to shoulders, elbows, wrists, upper back, hips, knees, ankles - whatever you can think of! Just a few minutes per day is awesome 💪🏻
@Tom Morrisson I have a hernia with pinches Medulla. I was an athlet, and I've done everything thats humanly possible , stretch 3 hours/week and exercise, for 29 years but something is interfering with my system. I think it's a CSF leak (got a lot of inflammations) Do I need to fix the hernia pinching the Medulla?
I have injuries that are more than 50 years old. I refuse to just lay down and die ore City in a rocking chair for the next 30 years. It may take me some time to fix what ails me but I can get it done. A little bit of mobility and a little bit of strengthening.

Loved this episode and could not agree more about your group. It’s seriously the best place on the internet. So thankful to be a part of it. ❤
Thankyou ❤️
That was very inspiring for me. Thank you to each of you for your valuable input and caring. God bless

Keep working on things, short bursts of cycling may be ok, it’s just prolonged periods in any one position you could find that can cause irritation

Love to hear that!!
Herniation and protrusion are the same thing no?
@@MultiMarathon nope, protusions are before herniations

PS I wanna hear from Timmy (aka Jeff) next time.

Do I need to fix the hernia pinching the Medulla?
I would definitely get some opinions with your doctor and see what can be done if it’s been that long yeah!
Hey Tom can u buy the back support online please😅
Is that some kind of gadget??
@@TomMorrison yea I need 4 when I sit down.i can send u Pic.whats ur email address
Anyone here with a hip labrum tear and had improvement with no surgical intervention?
Can depend on the type and size of the tear really! If you have tried the movement route and it’s been a long time I would get it repaired for sure!
@@TomMorrison sounds good! Thank you sir :)
You don't have enough time to fix all my "old" injuries.
Just pick one to start with, you’ll be surprised at what can happen when you get the ball rolling 💪🏼

Is Jenny drinking out of a vase?
Of course, she’s a flower 😎 with massive biceps 💪🏼💪🏼
You are shiny stars, you guys ❤️🩹 thanks
