This is so widly relevant. So, Im only 50, however, I have a genetic eye condition and have been losing sight. And what I have been going through is almost exactly like what is talked about for people struggling with mortality. For the past couple years, I have gone through versions of "shut in" and talking more about the past and not much about the future. The timing of me watching this video exactly lines up with my now awareness about what I was doing, without judgement and now its time to get back out and enjoy the life I have now, with less sight, but with more peace than ever, now. Vision loss offering gifts. New journeys, loving slow.
I know what you mean. I found myself fighting where I was at, the finally just being presesnt, breathing & surrendering to whatever is... wherein lies the gift of mySelf. The Sufi's have a saying: The boulders are not in the path, they are the Path. The Present is where the Presents may be discovered...
Thank you Vickie, for welcoming people & creating the space for us to form a Community of spiritual seekers, so we may go deeper...rather than isolated & selfcentered folks on the run to get enlightened & our next coffee!
There is so much division . It's so sad to see. My heart breaks in the world today. God is teaching me to be still and to listen to the world. And also to listen to myself . How do we approach what is going on inside of us and outside? It starts by listening. Ram Dass taught us that.
So much division, it’s hard to know what to do. To tell everyone to be quiet and listen? To speak up? To travel somewhere (Israel, Palestine, Ukraine, Africa, Yemen..) and actually help? To give money? To simply work on oneself? On one hand it’s all perfect but on the other hand it is all going straight to hell. For me, I raise my daughter alone and I try to be kind and learn and grow. But I don’t know. Maybe we should all be doing more?
@alexiarohdin879 Omg, I struggle with this too! I have a picture of a certain political figure that I dislike next to a statue of the Buddha as a reminder to love unconditionally. But it's hard when discord comes from every corner of the world. The dualism of human culture is VERY seductive. It draws us into a seemingly endless cycle. But to be awake to our lives doesn't mean to be asleep to the world. And it doesn't mean to supress our emotional and psychological experience either. It's hard to know what that looks alot of the time. But it is a continual practice of surrender. I feel ya! I'm right there in the" middle way" too.
With I all I have said, done, thought and felt, what can I do in the present moment for good? What's done is done. Is there anything I can do in the present moment to remedy my past behavior? I've caused so much pain to myself and other beings. I see my actions for what they are; selfishness that is rooted in ignorance. Do I just accept the karma as it comes?
I say It's just old karma running off when things happen that get me and then if I start thinking too much I'll catch myself and say far out just like ram dass does with unconditional compassion to myself
It’s not though I’d it, we need our past knowledge and experiences to give us strength and depth to navigate life, I gave next to no memory or good feelings due to injury and my life is a living hell
When did this happen to you, my friend? Mine was March 2022. Although, I guess the specific date does not matter. I’m just curious if more people are waking up that we used to. (Ancestors)
I used to feel as you do. Now, I appreciate these introductions immensely. These are the people who make these talks available, some of whom were with Ram Dass. This is their life’s work as much as it was his. They are why it continues. Tuning in to their bhav is a beautiful segue into the talk. They hold the sacred space, and bring the talks into the digital world with heart, and a lot of time and effort; it’s an offering to us, a gift they share. I’m grateful to them. Funny how I used to be impatient. I think they set the tone and vibration.
I’ve seen some podcasts with a heads-up on what timestamp to skip to for the crux of the episode. Maybe this could help? I’m sure they appreciate your sentiment!
Hopefully you stayed with it. One can always move the talk forward past the intro. Truth is she is a better host than the previous person who would talk up to 15 minutes plus before we heard Ram Dass! Keep reaching for the truth that RD offers us through every talk. Namaste. 🙏🏽
Because of the apathetic caste system in India the rich🤑don't take care of their poor but expect the Westerners to do what should be done by those responsible for their own poor country that involves the future of their own😢people!
Like all religions, once institutionalized, the indian system oppressed rather than uplifted. Individuals, not groups, are the answer. The seperateness is the oneness, the diversity is the unity.
Perhaps in a world where genocide is tolerated and ecological collapse is ignored sitting still is infantile and pretentious abandonment of one’s responsibility to life
I love you ram dass. I love you, whonever is also reading this ❤😊

That chick is annoying

Lol egos arent negative all the time. The intent to abandon one's ego is an egoistic pursuit in and of itself. Yall funny.
1. Prolong not the past.
2. Invite not the future.
3. Alter not your innate wakefulness.
4. Don't fear appearances.
5. It's nothing more than that. ❤

❤ this. Perfect "timing" too😊

The tv has brainwashed everyone that why the division is so bad. Social media also. Turn off the news for good it’s all nonsense.

Just be. Let the thoughts go by. There is no good or bad. Just choices. Let go and just let it flow.
I'm still practicing of course.

Doing harm knowingly to others is bad karma but don't worry it was past forget it , it can't be changed so why to worry over past

Once I figured out that I am God, I called Ram Dass and told him I am either God or I am crazy he suggested or both.
Too funny, that is Ram Dass, a blessing to all.

Where can this be read in transcript?
AI should be able to make a transcript of this. Also, on pc version of TH-cam, there is a way to find the transcript of the video
I'd much rather not have such a lengthy introduction to these videos. I don't think he needs this long of an introduction!!!!
Absolutely agree

Hello trouble, come on in....
Some woman is the host of the show. Don’t listen or don’t complain, or both or neither.
She's much easier to listen to than. Ragu(spelling?)
