Feeling things about this game - Kamaeru Demo

I'm of two minds about it.
The gameplay loop is simple and captivating...for about one half of the game.
The art is gorgeous and the intended message is valuable...but the character writing renders said message bland and uninspiring.
The minigames are either empty of mechanical purpose yet highly complex, or mechanically vital yet empty of variance or interest.
I could see myself playing it at length, but I also might not choose it over other games available to me. At the same time, I can also see it being someone else's absolute most favorite game ever.
I don't love it and even dislike certain elements of it, but it isn't bad.
