Don't apologize how you take your journey through BTS. It is yours to take however you want to. We will be here to watch it with you.
Thanks so much!
@@555Vibes, I watched right along with you just to see your reaction to their depth of talent. When you asked, "Is there anything they CAN'T do?', I knew you were ARMY! I have never, ever, seen another musical group even close-and I am a grandmother ARMY!!
@@SBCinNCgrandmother Army, here, too. 68 today!
@@Imme_begin I am not too far behind you @63. Cheers to Grandmother ARMYs!!
Up. 💜
After I got hooked bec of "Life Goes On". I consumed all documentary I could find.and RUN BTS before checking their music. Hehehe
Yes there is a BTS hardships video and I like that you’re watching those firsts….when you see everything they’ve been through it blows your mind and helps you appreciate them more💜💜don’t worry about the lengths….we’ve all seen these videos 100 times but we enjoy watching people fall in love and appreciate our guys…so we’ll watch again and again 💜💜
Thanks! 🙂
It’s crazy how many times I have sat through 45 min - hr videos many, many times and I never tire of it. :)
@@Imme_begin lol I think I can literally recite word for word the entire Taylor guide Bangtang 7 video and what’s crazier is with each new Army I get just as excited to see the reaction as I was when I learned about them …it never gets old it’s such an inspirational and humble story…and what’s even more amazing is not one minute of this global fame and adoration have affected them other than them becoming closer to Army…None of these guys have inflated egos or narcissistic behaviors that you see in a lot of celebrities today….ok enough of my rant😊
28:18 actually, during this time they're already big enough.. Worldwide! But they started small, almost went bankrupt before they dropped "I Need U".. So, you can say that "I Need U" song is like the catapult of their career
True.
If you want help to navigate BTS' music/discography I really recommend the video by Boracity Magazine called "an introduction to BTS' discography (from Chapter one)"
Basically, without spoiling the music sound, Boracity guides us through their music since before they were formed as the complete BTS that we know today. It's a really compact and detailed video, since BTS has a lot of music, and i think you'd find it really helpful to get to know them as artists and to know what you'll be getting into when you navigate their music on your own, which can be a lot of content so you might find it helpful to have it all collected in one video. It's the perfect for baby ARMYs 💜
Thanks so much! I appreciate that.
Yes a good one.
boracity magazine have so many informative videos hope you can watch them all 😁 from the oldest to the most recent 😉
15:04 YES, They have SOOO many different genres of music! They have whatever you name, its there. Even a few silly songs are there. You'll never get bored listening to bts nor will ever go "Their music sounds the same". Your journey will always be adventurous! And the video youre planning on reacting to is by xCeleste "BTS Hardships 2013-2021".
Thank you!
I'm really surprised that you didn't watch the updated version of this video instead of this one. There is more amazing information in that one. Rice Squad updated this video with newer information into the middle of 2022.
Yes you're thinking of BTS Hardships by XCeleste.
Yes I definitely made it to the end. Armies love long reaction videos so don't ever feel like you're going on too long with any of these informational videos or even their music show award performances.
I realized towards the end that it wasn’t the most updated version.
Thank you so much for your reaction! There is so much content from them that it can feel overwhelming at times. I would say, discover BTS the way YOU want to. Everyone discovers them in their own unique way. For me, while their music initially pulled me in, it was their fun compilation and personality videos that really got me invested, only to delve more into their music and stories later which only had me doubling down on my love for the guys. So do whatever your heart tells you, everyone will have a different idea on the best way to go about it, so do what feels right and natural for you!
As for the English song thing, the boys basically had 3 really big English songs come out within a year and I think some ARMY felt like they were selling out somewhat. Because they had gained their popularity with Korean songs, but started really getting attention in the US after Dynamite and Butter, so I think hardcore fans maybe felt like they should have gotten that attention with just their Korean songs. Or something like that. I know that by the time Permission to Dance came out, I was also kind of hoping for a Korean song instead (even though PTD is a wonderful song that I really appreciate now).
Anyway, thanks again for your reaction!💜
Thanks so much, I appreciate that and the info.
I Agree. Everyone's personal BTS journey is unique, and beautiful in it's own way. 💜
You can only do what feels right, and natural to you. We may offer suggestions, but that's all they are. However you take your journey, whatever path you take, we will be there with you. To watch as you discover the myriad of wonders ahead of you, as you learn more about these wonderful human beings. And we'll try to steer you from any ugly pitfalls and false information (which unfortunately exists). But ultimately it is your journey.
So get excited, you have no idea the amazing things ahead of you. Borahae 💜
Just personal intuition, but I think Hybe pressured them a lil bit about those english songs, because they would for sure bring a lot of money to the company in a time where things got weird because of Covid, there were no tours and stuff. They made those songs as fun easy going songs to cheer up people, but I got the feeling that
they had their own doubts about doing that (just a feeling I got especially from RM in some interviews). I may be wrong but I just wanted to share my personal oppinion. Also many people noticed a slight change when Hybe came into the picture. I know they own shares in the company and for sure have a lot more freedom than other artists, but also they have an even bigger presure on them. But as far as I see they manage to stay true to themselves, they still have that honesty and authenticity we love about them. That is what makes people trust them as artists and people, they are really special.
@@georgiana3112I don’t think Hybe pressured them. I think they chose to do it. Hybe doesn’t force them to do anything. Bighit before becoming Hybe made sure that Hybe couldn’t control or force BTS to do anything. Besides Hybe itself doesn’t make any decisions based on how their music will be. All they do is give money to their different subsidiaries ex: Bighit, Adora, etc….
As for Bighit they don’t force anything. BTS are like drivers so to speak. They make the decision on their music…I know BTS were having a hard time with what they wanted to do as far as music during covid (hence black swan). So they probably just figuring out what they could do during the pandemic. Dynamite they actually tried making it in Korean but it just didn’t sound right so they stuck with English. As for PTD Ed Sheeran gave them the song, so they did it…the only song I think they might have feel pressured by the company was Butter but I personally they pushed themselves because they saw a possibility to win a scammy. So I don’t think they were pressured to make English songs, it was just the circumstance and how they received and used good tracks that they liked….
@@amberpearce710 It may be yes... my oppinion was not based on facts as only they know.. I also believe they have a lot of freedom, but also there is a lot of money involved now, shareholders and stuff, that is why I thought they may have had pressure to compensate financially the lack of concerts (I know they had online concerts, but can't compare to a tour).
Made it to the END! Everyone has a different journey finding and going through BTS content and you can do it anyway you feel is right for you. So no worries there. Have fun with it, enjoy it how you like. You can always watch the update of this video on your own time, the last part of those videos have more information thats all, no biggie.
They do have full Japanese albums, they usually drop one after a Korean series so they rerecord the popular songs off those albums from that era in Japanese and have at least 2 new Japanese singles created for that specific Japanese Album.
I think the issue with the english singles was alot of hate and jealousy that the boys have always received from the Western Music Industry not wanting BTS to win, from the Korean Netizens who wanted BTS to stay in thier place and not make any noise. People dont like when others succeed sometimes and people also sometimes feel alot more comfortable when people "stay in their own lane". Thats why people are so quick to label things and box artists in genres. BTS try to break those boundaries and they do this for the art and for the people that need them. They have good intentions always. Thats why we gravitate towards them. To the people who liked BTS and werent fond of the English Trilogy (Dynamite, Butter, Permission to Dance)I think there was fear of the unknown especially during the Pandemic, that they were going to become more like western artists, that their songs weren't going to be deep and thought provoking where we have to watch videos and read threads of lyric breakdowns like we were used to with their Korean songs. Many people have come around and realized why they put it out and why it was needed and why BTS do the unexpected every time. We have gotten to the point where ARMY trusts BTS, we just do and it makes the experience so much more fun for everyone involved. Sorry ...really bad at just leaving a small comment honestly, especially when I can talk about the boys.
Enjoy the ride!
Thank you for the explanation, that does makes sense. Don’t be sorry for the long comment, I read every single word. 🙂
💜🫰
We love watching the documentaries. Xceleste has the hardships video and an intro to BTS that is different than these last two. I think you will like it. There is also a series called Rise of Bangtan that has a much different concept and content that we love. We don’t mind watching them with new people :) Welcome. From Portland Oregon!
Thanks, looking forward to it.
@@555Vibesif you like documentaries… we definitely will love and watch along with you the Rise of Bangtan. It’s longer with 21 chapters but the best fan made documentary for BTS.
Watching the end of the updated version of this one is also helpful to see some of the changes happening! Hard to keep up with it all these days!!
I believe since Japan is such a big consumer of K-pop, yes they have many albums where they change the lyrics to Japanese. They have some amazing Japanese only singles such as Let go, lights, Crystal snow, stay gold, and film out💜
Yes, the lyrics on their Japanese releases are all Japanese and the songs are reworked to make sense and match the music of course. Japan is a big market for S Korean music. It's the second biggest music market in the world after the US. It's not unusual for S Korean bands to court the Japanese market with tailored albums. So when they perform in Japan they are performing in Japanese as well. Those albums are mostly re-dos of their songs from their other albums, but each Japanese release also has a couple can't miss songs that are original to those albums. You'll get to the Japanese singles eventually. BTS has a LOT of music. It's such an outstandingly fun journey.
🙂
Yeah, the updated versions of this video def have some more info that will be good for you to check out (even in your own time).

' The rise of bangtan ' series is a fan made (army made) series, which is a must to look into, they are about 21 epi and feels like living the journey with bts 💜
Since last fall, each member has been dropping solo projects exploring their own vision, the latest being V just 2 weeks ago but it's important to know that as military service is mandatory in South Korea, two of the members Jin and J-hope are currently serving and Suga is scheduled to enter soon with RM probably following after. The three youngest member Jimin, Taehyung and Jungkook should enter next spring at the latest if they want to keep their promise made to fans to reunite by 2025. They must serve 18 to 24 months depending on whether it's army, navy, air force or civil service (for the incapacitated). We'll see them back in fall 2025 if everything goes according to plan.
And we will get another album from RM!
Oh man! You def need to watch the hardships these guys overcame!! So inspirational & convicting! ! I agree, their come-up story is impressive! And they were so young! That’s what made me think if they can overcome, so can I! I think that’s what makes them an anomaly. We all need to hear about this kind of success story! 💪🏼keep going!!!😃💜
Awesome! I’m definitely looking forward to watching that one.
"If i had watched all of this stuff ahead of time and then i saw my first song Dynamite, it would have even been better to me"
I typically base my song and video recommendations on reactors' preferences, and I would strongly recommend the "Rise of Bangtan" documentary series to you.
This series chronicles their story chronologically, starting from before their debut. Reacting to this series alongside the songs showcased in it could be a great option. When you become aware of the circumstances in which the song was released and their story from that time, the song becomes more relatable and easier to understand.
For instance, "Rise of Bangtan" episodes 1 and 2 cover their journey leading up to their first album. After watching these two episodes, you can react to the songs from their debut. I believe this could be a captivating way for you to embark on this journey.
Thank you for all your thoughtful and kind comments. Happy to have you as a new ARMY! : )
*Don't worry. It's a long series, but definitely fun, interesting and inspiring story !!
That’s a really good idea, thanks for the info and your kindness!
@@555VibesAnd just as some added info… the creator of Rise of Bangtan, Aneesa … is Army, who works professionally as an editor. So it’s really well done with usage of public content. She did most of the work herself but had help of from other Army who found clips she needed and volunteer translators helped give accurate translations for everything. Any money that viewers offered to donate for her hard work she donated to different charities. She didn’t take any money for herself. She turned down projects to finish this one and had to take a personal health break near the end because of how much she wore herself down trying to complete it. She often got online and discussed the issues and worries she had during the whole process. When she did finish it, she gave us time to watch them and let us know in a while she was going to take the videos down but allowed anyone who wanted to, to re-upload the videos for others to enjoy. Thank god, because the work is amazing. The documentaries you’ve watched so far are also great (though make sure to watch the updated version of the most beautiful moments because he corrected some information and added a whole section after this one ended) but there is something next tier about aneesa’s. It’s probably the most informatively accurate but there’s this warm and personal feeling you get from it that the others don’t quite hit. Again… the others are definitely worth watching and great work… but rise of bangtan, for someone wanting to know more about them… is just… immaculate. And she added extra videos like deleted scenes and such after each episode. (First 2? I think don’t have them but the other ones do) I’ve probably watched each episode 30-50 times with other people and reactors… including my kids. Lol. I’m 45 and unlike most people, I actually introduced my kids to BTS instead of finding them because of my kids. I have a 22 year old and a 12 year old and found BTS in 2018. I too found them when I needed them at a low point in my life and though the music (song Fire) caught my attention, it was their personalities and sincerity that kept me here. I drove 11 hours to NJ with my 67 year old mother to see them in concert in 2019 and it was an amazing show and something that is not like any other concert I’ve ever been to. They… in general, are nothing like any artist I’ve ever encountered and I’m so lucky to have found them. They’ve opened my eyes to not just one but many other cultures that I wouldn’t have known previously which made me a better person. I am so thankful for them.
Thanks, I appreciate that and I’m definitely going to check it out.
Made it to the end. Thanks for the reaction. 😊 Take your time. Learn and enjoy your journey with BTS in your own way. As you have read, ARMY and fans are happy to help you along the way. Welcome to the World of BTS. 💜❤️💜
Thank you! 🙂
BTS came out with a book this year for their 10th anniversary! (I read the audiobook)
Even though it shows a lot of what we've already known/learned over the years, it felt like it provided context we hadnt thought of before(in many situations throughout the years).
But also of the music industry at the time of their debut, of why the company was struggling financially during some of their beginning years. (Bighit had debuted a girl group a year before BTS and they didnt so well, so that was a financial crisis at the time.)Also though some of their music didnt do as well in the beginning, the context of how saturared the kpop industry was with big name boy groups from big companies with so many more resources to give their groups, etc.
You should watch all the documentary stuff It blows your mind how they work so hard for where they are now....
I guess by now you have heard that you reacted to the old version 0:01 Can I make a suggestion? You could make a part 2 to this video and watch the end of the 2023 update, start around 28:30 because so so so much had happened since then. Or just check it out on your own time. If you like documentary type content the Rise of Bangton docu series is fantastic! There are 21 chapters and bonus content and deleted scenes.
These 3 full English Songs where just right for the time they were fun and got people dancing again but in their own home's as it was covid when the world needed to be lifted up.
There is a documentary series named The Rise of Bangtan- it's fan-made but amazing quality and editing+ great storytelling. It follows them from the beginnig until about 2018 I believe. One way to discover their music would be to watch that documentary and listen to the songs/ album from that specific episode, so that you can see the way their music evolved. Just an idea, for sure the best way is how you feel like doing it, we'll be here to watch with you 😊. There is so much content you can not imagine, as they have their own shows, they go live and spend time with fans, interviews, tv shows, besides their huge dicography, live performances, concerts. Add to that the solo music each member released and you can guess there are many ways of discovering them 😊
That’s a good idea, thanks!
Seconding this!! Rise of Bangtan really is a must-watch!
I so enjoy you're wanting to get to know BTS! Can't wait for the MV's. Following you on your BTS journey gives me an excuse to watch an MV again. Thanks for your reaction. Looking forward to you getting to some of the mind bending MV's loaded with easter eggs.
Thank you so much!!
Yes there is a hardships video I believe it’s on the x Celeste channel.
Enjoying the start of your BTS journey. They do say, you don't find BTS, BTS find you when you need them, so true in my case.
I’m enjoying your reactions on your journey to know more about BTS. I would suggest you watch the updated version of this video and you can skip to where this video ended.
The hardship video is a good video and gives you insight on the hardships BTS went through and still goes through in the industry.
Remember we are here to help of you have any questions too. We love seeing people discover BTS. It’s a beautiful journey and a never ending one too. 💜
Thanks so much!
Thank you. 💜
I have no problem with their English language songs. I have been Army since Feb 2018. (55 year old mom of 3 daughters)
I agree that diving to their story make you appreciate their music more.. Looking forward on your next reaction💜💜💜
You may see XCeleste BTS “FROM NOBODIES TO LEGENDS” the hardships they went through.💜💜💜
When you watch the following mvs I suggest you also watch the explanation video for them.
Spring Day was written by RM because he was missing friends whom hadn’t seen for a long time due to extremely busy schedules. However the mv for the song is about a ferry tragedy where over 300 people died and 250 of them were high school students. They could have been save except for the government and the owners of the ferry who stopped all attempts to rescue them. My preferred explanation video is by an Italian army.
Idol, in order to understand the video because of the cultural references and unearned hate and criticismsI recommend the video by DKDK.
Ugh, explanation video by DKDK.
Blood Sweat and Tears, way deep, too deep for me at least. Based on Hermann Hess’s book called Demien. I recommend the video by Don’t worry, I’m not afraid.
These are just a few songs as there are more with explanation videos.
Bang Sik Hyuk who put together BTS is the owner of Big Hit label company. BTS made Big Hit billions of dollars and now is the biggest music label in Korea. Big Hit became HYBE Corporation and Big Hit is now a subsidiary under HYBE. Bang Sik Hyuk is the owner of HYBE however stepped down as the CEO so that he can do what he loves and that is to write music and produce. He is the chairman of HYBE. He has 2 CEOs for the HYBE corporation, HYBe Korea and HYBE America. I believe HYBE now has 9 music labels under it’s umbrella, 5 Korean labels and 4 American labels or it could be 6 to 3. Since 2018 BTS has contributed average of 3.5 billion to the Korean economy each year. 25% of tourists going to Korea is because of BTS. A few universities in America is now offering Korean language courses and many more.
Through all their success and enduring the difficulties they have always given Army the credit for their determination and strength to go on. I have never experienced a such love and devotion towards a group of young men and fangirling at my silver age. I’m going to suggest 1 more song and it’s called Love Letters. It’s made by a group of wonderful armies for BTS for their 10th anniversary that was celebrated in June, 2023. It’s a beautiful song and mv. I’m enjoying your journey with BTS and I think it’s great that you want to know more about them and their history. I think that you will really the enjoy The Rise of Bangtan docu-series. It’s 21 or 22 episodes that’s about 25 minutes long.
Yes The Rise of Bangtan is the absolute best as it not only shows BTS pre-debut but gives a lot of insight into Korean culture and the Kpop industry.
Thanks, I definitely will.
💜
Really enjoyed this reaction too! I’m really liking your approach to getting to know our boys, learning about them first to appreciate their music even more. When you start checking out their music, I really recommend BTS Festa Room Live 2021. You’ll get a great sample of their variety, see a glimpse of their loveable personalities, and how great they are at performing live. Have a purple day! 💜
Thank you!! 😊

I wanted to add that Armies don't not like the 3 all English songs, because we do like them, they are fun. The issue fans were trying to explain was that they are not written by BTS and dont have the deep meaningful lyrics that we have come to expect from BTS.

12:35 the video you are talking about is bts hardships 2013-2021 by xceleste.
its your journey so you decide the order you want to experience things in.
Personally, i'd listen to some music first just so you can understand just how ridiculous the things they experienced were.
Specifically, id listen to War of Hormone and Boy in Luv since there are controversies around both of those songs that are addressed in that video.
Yes they are now THE KPOP company a real rags to richess. They are in the same league and Samsung and Hyundi Cars when it comes to how much they put into the South Korean Economy. They are the only kpop Artists I'm aware of who have been given 'Share's' in their company.
That’s amazing
The most recent Hardships video is 2021 - th-cam.com/video/EdY6wnLsetQ/w-d-xo.html
There are glitches in this version of Most Beautiful Moment, so the creator edited it for copyright and updated info. The carpool and other talk show stuff can be edited by changing the tune of the voice or a layover image over the original video
Thank you! Appreciate that.
First: not this version - there is an updated version. Second: SUBTITLES. They definitely did not help - they only covered the translation of what was important. And the movie itself is in English.
31:26 You pretty much nailed it. The pandemic derailed not only the concert tour (forever bitter ticketholder here), but the entire trajectory of their body of work. Sure, they wanted to reach many people with cheerful songs, but they also suddenly had time on their hands and the group and label decided to play the Grammy game like they never had before. They didn't write Dynamite, they bought it from a pair of Brits with a love for Americana. LOL It doesn't have the meaningful lyrics we're used to, and though it's a super fun song that did raise spirits, it was designed to be a commercial bop. What followed were Permission to Dance and Butter. They squeezed in a self-produced pandemic album (BE) - expressing a lot of their feelings at the time, but the thread of their narrative was broken, and we now know they were set adrift as lyricists, no longer sure of what the group was about or what excited and inspired them. They got 5 Grammy noms in 3 years for the highest ranking, selling, streamed songs - and were snubbed each time in favor of songs that were much less successful. They didn't realize that no matter how commercially appealing the songs were and who they schmoozed (their boss is friends with Scooter Braun now, for example) the Recording Academy doesn't give foreign (especially non-European) artists recognition because they can't make money off of them. BTS gave up on the Grammy campaign decisively in 2022, and ARMY was pretty happy about it.
In conclusion, though we support the English songs because they are fun and we are ARMY, they also represent a time when BTS weren't wholly true to themselves, and it damaged them just a little bit.
Edit: I should make it clear that a big deal with the English songs isn't that they are all English - they do all Japanese songs, after all - it's because of that commercial aspect. We *knew* they were trying to go for the US mainstream with English, and it felt like catering to the lowest common denominator. They are fully capable of writing their own English lyrics, so that was a bummer, too.
That makes a lot of sense, appreciate the comment.
You should've reacted to the updated version of this video (the 2023 update). Some parts have changed from the original video so that there's no misunderstandings (especially the beginning of the video). Also it has more updates than where the original one left off. BTS wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Bang PDs vision and belief that they were special he really believed in those guys
I made it to the end. Now you should watch BTS Hardships 2013-2021. You will understand why ARMYs are so protective of BTS. You will be shocked by some of the things you hear but it's important to see the entire picture. The BTS members are truly an incredible group of human beings! Keep posting your reactions😀
Thank you, that one is coming soon!
Bts have a piece of ownership to the company 💜
Of course we made it to the end.😊 and yes, there is BTS hardships video.
You asked why people disliked the all english songs. I dont think Army disliked them, BTS did them excellently. The issue is that while new english speaking fans may have discovered BTS through these songs they are not typical BTS style. Typically BTS tracks are lyrically deep and meaningful and will have been written and produced by RM or Suga, with further input from the rest of the band.
Your journey is just that, YOURS! No apologies. 💜Gigi
This is the old version of this video. There's an updated one by the same channel. It has minor changes and more details. When you have time watch it on your own.
If you watch the updated one, you can skip most of it as he adds on where this one left off. ❤
We enjoy your reaction. We can tell genuine ones, really. I appreciate your thought to know them and their stories better before reacting to their music, bc that surely will hit different.
Now abt Dynamite. By the time this song arrived, the fandom had growth substantially, and idk if you notice, but ARMY has the most intelligent, organized, determined, cohesive, and protective crowds ever. Together with good musics from BTS, the fandom strives to keep them on top of the chart, ORGANICALLY. Twitter has been the stronghold of the massive fandom, and that's where half of the magic happens. There were a super smart, legendary fan that we call BCD (short for BTS Chart Data) who found a significant way to make our streaming of BTS musics counted on charts by discovering StationHead. And that is one among many factor that took Dynamite off massively. The rest is history. That's only one of BCD's important contribution for the fandom. Unfortunately, BCD is no longer active on twt due to haters attacks, but his legacy to the fandom lives on. We are forever grateful for him. Just a bit of history. CMIIW pls, ARMY 🙏
Thank you! I appreciate the info and the story. 🙂
I am a pandemic born Army, they made me a fan girl at the age of 49 (now 53) right after Dimash
I love that you react to my 3 favorite groups to see people react to: BTS, Pentatonix (the only one I’ve seen in person) and Home Free.
As long as you react and I’m able, I will show up for these three groups. 😊
Thanks so much!
Dynamite is not their only English song. It was their first English song and the only one at the time. You paused it at the wrong time and missed that. You should not pause until he finishes a sentence so you don't miss stuff.
ARMY love long videos. Looking forward to your next BTS reaction.
Sending you good vibes
PS. new subscriber here.
Thank you!
Oh you would really like "I need you"
Thanks!
I just want to say thank you for taking the time to react to this videos and want to know them more. I know it's a bit overwhelming all the content but we are here to watch what you decide to react. If you just want to check their story is ok, or if you want to go and react to some of their songs is ok too. I just hope that you can enjoy your journey 💜 I loved your genuine reaction and thanks again for your interest in our boys 💜💜💜
Thanks so much!
I like a lot your interest in finding more about BTS, for sure we appreciate that because your love for this group just keeps growing. Thanks for your reaction 💜🇧🇷💜 and yes I stay until the end.
Thanks, appreciate that!
Karpool karaoke and some of those things may be hard to upload on youtube, but it may work if you blur the screen or add some writing above the video so that we can peek through it. People that watch reaction videos usually know very well the video you're watching, we're more curious about your thoughts cause it makes us feel again some of the excitement when we first discovered bts. So I hope you manage to upload those things like that, I've seen it with some other reactors so I hope it works for you too.
Thanks, I’ll figure that out. I’d love to watch that stuff!
I know , so much to choose from. X Celeste is very good. Hope to see you soon. Enjoyed the reaction.😊
Up 💜💜
It’s the same video, but with additions at the end - it’ll pick up where this one left off, so you can skip forward to where this video ends and the updates starts.
1:41 Yeah, I agree with you. This video is nice but I think they over exaggerate some things to try to make a bigger impact. There are innaccuracies and they say some misleading things in other places in the video as well. I dont typically recommend this one for that reason but its not a terrible watch as long as it accompanies other explanatory and introductory videos.
BTS is defeinitley huge but they're fairly niche (though that is definitely changing) because Western Media in particular has been so resistant to featuring them etc.
This video is great and new ARMYs can learn to BTS's history.
I think it's partially Rice Squad's fault for not having the right video as the easiest one to find. Many people have been reacting to this one, not knowing there is a 2023 update, and usually introduction videos don't need subtitles, the exception are some docu-series like The Rise of Bangtan.
There is an updated version of this video that captures a lot more than this video. Thanks for the reaction.
You are doing great. One suggestion, after you pause the MV, please back a second before play. You might some info.
Thanks, I will.
Bts small company have became the biggest music company now in Korea, the bring in 4 bilj dollar to korea
Wow
Their English lyric songs were not well accepted by their fans because 1) many felt BTS was selling out by catering to the American music industry and singing in English. They are Korean; 2) the English songs were not written by BTS members so lost their personal style; 3) these songs were very bubblegum Pop, not at all BTS’s previous style. Army wanted lyricism, not cutesy songs. Of course many people joined the fandom because these English bright songs uplifted them during the pandemic. But older fans felt like BTS had sold out.
please do get to know them first before jumping into their music because their music hit harder when you know, where they are coming from because kpop is very different compared to the US market.
the rise of bangtan is an amazing fan made doco serie witch explain all about kpop and take you through step by step explaining how BTS rise to the top. it´s really professionally made and it wont spoil to much music for you.
another youtuber did the journey like this going from the first two ep of rise of bangtan to the first album, and work his way up. and now he is full blown army. and that to me was so cool to see how he little by little changed his mind. he started just like you with these videos after reacting to butter MV. and it has been over a year now and he is still not done yet hehe. there is so much content to watch. you can also create a patreon and post blocked content there
Thanks, that’s definitely the path I’d like to take as well. I like learning the story first.
Here to the end. I’m really enjoying your reactions.
Thank you!
Very, very few reactors have taken the time and interest to learn about the group the way you are before delving into the discography. It is most welcome and appreciated.
Thanks!
This is something totally new to me, it's actually interesting, guess we're never too old to open our frozen little minds a bit. 😊 Thanks for the video and commentary, getting this week off to a good start.
Hi, if you like this documentary type of content as an introduction to new artists, check out Boracity magazine channel. She has many video essays about BTS and they are so fun to watch. My fav BTS vs Radio, BTS vs awards shows, Why is music industry terrified of BTS and more.
Hope your week is Amazing Pam!
Not that they really needed the help, becausa they've sould out some really big concerts in a short period of time 25:19
Great reaction! I think you're doing it right by learning about them first. You will appreciate the songs so much more.
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
33:05 theres a really good video called bts vs kpop by bby gang that i think you would enjoy based on your interest in how the fans label bts (boy band vs vocal group, kpop vs pop)
Thanks! I’ll check that out.
💜 loved your reaction to the end
Thanks!
I think you should watch the updated 2023 version... There are many additional information in that video 🙂🙂🙂
Thanks for the reaction! 💜
Thank you for reacting to this video about our boys BTS.💜💜💜
🙂
The 2023 one you should have watched maybe you can do that one as well cause they added more to it.
Thanks, I realized at the end there was an updated version.
If you want to make a Patreon account to watch talk shows, I’d totally subscribe there for more content that isn’t allowed on TH-cam 💜😊
Thanks, I appreciate that.
I prefer Taylors guide as it introduces you to a more rounded picture in including skills character and how they interact. This guide is bare bones and not as amusing. It also uses alot of the same clips as Taylors? Not many new ones.
I think the main bonus to watching this one ( or the updated version) is it goes more onto the albums/music they’ve made a bit more, while Taylor’s did more on each member.
Taylor used the same clips as this one and xCeleste and Ida s her excellent video kinda consolidated and updated the previous guides
There is a 2023 updated version of this video. More info has been added.
Like for BTS 💜
I think its less that army dont like dynamite its just that its not really a good song to represent bts songs it was a happy song made to cheer army up so it doesnt have the deeper meaning bts songs are known for
There’s an 2022 updated version of this video. It has tons more stuff.
Welcome to ARMY!❤
There is a 2023 update for this video I wish you would watch it
Next bts hardships 2013-2021 please 💜
The Rice Squad has an updated version that takes you past this through to August 2022.
Hi!! . I’ve been watching your ytb channel for a while now. And i love all your BTS reactions! i wanted to ask, if i could provide Czech subtitles on your channel for Czech and Slovak armys, that are watching your reactions aswell. For free, i dont want anything.💜💜💜💜
Thank you and yes of course I can. I’ll make sure from now on. 🙂
Hi dear. 68yo Army here. For some reason I felt if I watched this video I was being "unfaithful" to Taylor's guide...but I wanted to watch it with you just because I like you. And I'm glad I did. Hurry back, (with more BTS content) dear.
Thank you, I appreciate your kindness. 🙂
@@555Vibes 💜
You should watch the updated version
There's 2022 latest version of this video
This is an old video, 2020 only. You should of reacted to the 2022 update it's alot better. Because it up dates the most recent contents of BTS.
BTS -Army 🇲🇽💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
This video has a couple misleading things in it, like he makes it seem that BTS were trying to deliberately dominate Western charts by doing Dynamite in English, which is not the case at all. They did it in English because they wanted to make the song as accessible as possible, because it was meant as a mental health support pick-me-up for ARMY during the pandemic when everyone was struggling, including them. They had NO IDEA it would blow up like literal dynamite, and they were completely shocked. Nothing they have done is cynical or about "views" or "sales" or fame. They wanted to be successful of course, but the scale of their success is so massive and so outside of the scope of anything they ever dreamed of that it almost destroyed them, nearly tearing apart the group from stress and burnout in 2018. And that was well BEFORE Dynamite in 2020. Also, their first year may have been modest, but they did better than any other rookie group in S Korea and it was good enough for them to sweep almost all the awards shows Best New Artist awards at the end of the year, and enough for them to garner the enmity of the large labels that do not tolerate upstart competition from nobodies at a nothing, broke label. Thus began the organized hate campaigns and the industry's many and ongoing attempts to crush, defame or derail them.
Their changes in style over the years were also a factor of their growth, as people and as artists. They were all teenagers when they debuted in 2013 (except Jin who was 20) and they were growing and changing a lot. So the stories they wanted to tell and the way they wanted to present themselves and their identities was also changing. Mr Bang gave them a clear mandate from the beginning that their music must tell their personal stories, which was highly unusual in their industry. Initially the three rappers all had more experience, particularly RM and Suga, in writing and producing, and so they were the members doing most of that. But with The Most Beautiful Moment In Life series, the other members also began to step into those roles as they grew as artists.
This video does have a lot of good information in it though.
Regardless, the synergy that BTS has between them and the mix of genius and talent is something even Mr Bang doesn't understand. It's like magic, alchemy, the combination of them and what they all are together. He has said if he knew how to recreate that magic, he would have done it again already. Many, many labels have tried and failed already. They are lightning in a bottle and we won't see their like again. They are one of a kind.
Thanks! Love reading this.
RM wasn't a singer he's got that wrong he was an underground Rapper.
Did you pice the 2023 update one or the older one cause if you did the 2023 one this isn't want it looked like.
Obrigada pela reação
I watched to the end :-)
Thanks 🙂
Hi! Just a question, why didn’t u choose this video with 2023 version update? There is one like this and i hope that channel will make another new video for chapter 2. Anyways, i really enjoy it, thank u for reaction!!!💜💜💜
He talks about this at the end - he only noticed that there was an updated one after already watching this one.
When I typed in the story of BTS by Rice Squad that’s the video that came up. Towards the end of the video you’ll see that I realized their was an updated version. I’ll definitely watch the update.
