@steelmongoose4956 the universe isnt ready for a leo-esque euphonium player. the world doesnt have enough euphoniums for all the new musicians that would line up to become euphoniumBros
It's so great seeing Grace having fun. She seemed so serious when she was just playing traditional jazz. Leo P looks great! What a great pair of musicians.
My god I wish I could play nearly as good as you guys could. I just got into saxophone last year, and I've been absolutely obsessed with it. The main reason why I got into saxophone is because of Leo P. My band teacher showed us one of his videos with Lucky Chops, and I've been absolutely hooked on his style of music for so long, and I hope one day I can get a bari sax, and play like him. That's my dream.
How're you doing now? I find once you're obsessed it never really stops. I first started playing when I was 6 or 7 years old. Now I'm 29 and I still love it!!
Nicolas Mendoza in most of the horn’s upper range almost any fingering will suffice for any note. It’s mostly pointless to have valves above a certain pitch... brass is weird.
I’ve always found the Pokémon theme song “inspiring” (or those kind of vibes anyway - y’all know what I mean) to some extent and now this cover is inspiring me to practice. Or to think about practicing anyway...
When done in this style, it's amazing to me how much this sounds like the theme music to some 70's or 80's action TV show. Like, this could easily be the theme from "Magnum P.I." or "C.Hi.Ps" or "The A-Team." Love it!
James Matheson, Jr. your comment is a bore and annoying. He is better than you so why are you hating? You clearly have no idea what a professional looks like. Shut up!
@@jmathesonjr You only want to vomit thinking about how bad you are in comparison to Leo P. What is your point watching this video if all you're going to do is complain about a really fucking obvious professional Baritone sax player.
Good lord, this is incredible! I am massively impressed at both the technical ability and the physical stamina required for this! The breath control is spot on! And you two compliment each other and the entire band perfectly, at no point overpowering or coming in underwhelming - absolute volume mastery. Bravissimo!
I'm in love, kept it true to the original yet still had those banging solos and that 2saxy feel near the end 🙏 so impressive, can't wait to see more from you guys 😁
This is absolutely...100%...without a doubt....my ABSOLUTE favorite Pokémon cover. This SERIOUSLY made me feel the undying need to go hike across the country throwing Pokéballs at everything that moves. 😅
haha after listening to this on repeat for like an hour I noticed that at 3:50 you can see Grace laughing about (what seems like) her missed entry at 3:48 after the epic improv duet section. It's neat to me how it just adds tension to the final time she hits the line at 3:57!
The very first and only live performance by 2SAXY so far!!! This number with the 8-Bit Big Band brought the house down at the Berklee Performance Center March 1st, 2020. Were any of you there?
crazy awesome, please keep going strong I've never heard your way of playing the saxophone before, I think it's really powerful I've been playing beginner level since June 2023 My role models include, among others Angelo Torres, Daniele Sax, Leo P, Jimmy Sax, Julian Smith, Alexandra Ilieva and many more
I got this in my recommended after discovering Leo P, Too Many Zooz, and eventually 2 Saxy. Apperently I already watched it before this, so now I’m watching again with more context, and it’s a beautiful thing
leo p has better moves holding a bari sax than 99% of the population empty handed
If he played a euphonium he could probably fly.
@@steelmongoose4956 yay someone knows euphonium
I think him playing Sax requires his legs to move as part of his wiring :). Hes so fun.
God I wish I was as good as Leo on bari

Right?

What a fantastic combo - 8 bit Big Band + Grace + Leo = Way2Saxy!!!
Tim Millaway what if I told you Insaneintherainmusic and his Sinoh Big Band opened for them
Both are a fantastic combo
It's so great seeing Grace having fun. She seemed so serious when she was just playing traditional jazz. Leo P looks great! What a great pair of musicians.
This seems like the kind of bond a couple would only dream about. So much passion behind their instruments.
The every time they both play together in sync, I straight up get goosebumps

This version is so cool. It combines jazz and rock. You can really feel the energy when everyone is playing together.
This legitimately made me cry, the nostalgia combined with how good this performance was is insane
3:43 leo p just casually matching kelly's altissimo....
Bari is comparitavly easy to do altissimo, especialy compared to an alto, leo has also been doing it a reasonably long time and trys way to hard.
Actually they're not doing altissimo it's actually overtones
@Nicolas Mendoza good point I didn't think about that
@Nicolas Mendoza hol up I play alto... *W H A T* , I literally knew as soon as I saw leo i needed to switch
Nicolas Mendoza in most of the horn’s upper range almost any fingering will suffice for any note. It’s mostly pointless to have valves above a certain pitch... brass is weird.

Yonathan Ruiz we had a BLAST

agreed (: major nostalgia
You must now practice 40 hours a day.
This actually gave me goosebumps, because nostalgia. I grew up watching the original pokemon and that Pac-Man guitar is awesome.
Who knew Ash and Misty could rock it with a saxophone? Brilliant!
This sounds like what the music would be if there was a Pokémon themed Mario Kart 8 track
When done in this style, it's amazing to me how much this sounds like the theme music to some 70's or 80's action TV show. Like, this could easily be the theme from "Magnum P.I." or "C.Hi.Ps" or "The A-Team." Love it!
2:55 Is this not what human passion looks like? Impeccable.
Its weird seeing Leo P with a normal wig. Its like hes a different person.
@@jmathesonjr Do you mean low A, middle A, high A, and screech?
James Matheson, Jr. WTF?!? He plays more than that. Your talking about brasshouse where it’s more for fun and the sound and less about complexity

James Matheson, Jr. this is for attention isn’t it. Idk what analogies your trying to make but they suck
I cried listening to this. It reminded me of my childhood when all I worried about was playing Pokemon with my brother and the saxophone in the band.
Man, this throws the vibe back to anime intros from the early 90's and most of the 80's.
this was possibly the best thing i've ever been recommended
Music these days definitely needs more sax.
This cover reminds me of a lot of the swing and jazz styled intros from anime in the 80's and early 90's. I miss the brass from those.
