Bought a pair of sk 12” groove joint pliers for 17 bucks from sk website during a sale.. massive amounts of quality.. my favorite tool by far.. the finish reminds me of the aluminum and black wheels on my brand new yamaha cruiser… never seen such a beautiful tool in my life.. just pure beauty.. it’s a damn shame that I have to use this work of art as a tool.
Yes, I’ve got some SK pliers. They’re great. Identical to the old black handle Craftsman’s that most people liked. I have the long handle needle nose and another pair of long needle nose.
I’ve got SK sockets, ratchets, extensions, chrome, impact, bits, wrenches, etc... they are at or near tool truck quality with a lot of their offerings and are definitely worth a look. Especially their “steals and deals” and when they run their big discount/coupon codes.
Ya I have heard a few people mention the deals are great and I absolutely agree they are great quality. Definetly good enough to be tool truck worthy 👍👍👍
For years, SK also made products for Sears/Craftsman in the late 1990's/Early 2000's. I have a pair of craftsman that are exactly the same as that one, but with an orange handle. I love them for general use. They hold tight, don't slip, and there is no bulge.
The last of the Western forge made Craftsman pliers were the exact same and are obviously excellent if you can find them still at a Sears or Ace hardware, you may get a better deal but if not I guess just get the readily available SK's. I love the flush joints, I may have to look into some SK's if I don't find any more of the Craftsmans. WF was owned by Ideal who owns SK Pratt-Read and maybe Klein I think, i'm guessing that once Sears ended their contracts with WF Ideal moved the tooling to the SK factory. That's really the only thing that makes sense, I certainly can't think of another facility under Ideal that could make these. Certainly none that the AK on these would match. Those Tekton are rebranded WILDE btw, great tools. I've always loved and had good luck with all my Channellock, but I do appreciate nice F&F when I can get it for the money. It's not a deal breaker for me though and Channellock I feel has good steel and are reliable which is what matters most to me.
Absolutely and ya I'm pretty sure your right about the sk. And ya they are great pliers and a good cost for the sk ones. And ya wild makes a lot of USA made products for tekton. I think it's great 👍and ya I really enjoy my channellock as well
I just looked on the SK Tools website. Jan 18, 2021. The SK 7206, SK 7208 & SK 7210. which are the 6, 8, & 10 inch slip joint pliers. They are all marked down. But also indicated as "coming soon".
My grandpa sold S•K and provided over the counter warranty for over 30 years at his hardware store. I’ll always have a soft spot for the brand. I really like my lp90 ratchets and x-frames, but my superkrome combination wrenches are the biggest workhorse in my toolbox being a heavy equipment mechanic.
I did see a posting showing since SK closed Western Forge that some pliers have changed design and were now made for SK by Wilde so I have a few of those type of pliers you showed but I'm not sure they will continue or not.
I literally just got the tekton ones for 15 bucks and there very well made for the price, I'll be buying the SKs for shure I don't like the snap on ones because of the grip feel, this is the only style of pliers that knipex doesn't make unfortunately
Love sk I got a the slip joint duckbill wide mouth Chanellock and long needle pliers can only buy on Amazon in Canada so little expensive great brand I always try to buy us made everything when coming to buying tools🇺🇸 👍🏻😈👍🏻 🍻
I went go order the sk ones and they look different in the pictures on the site and amazon using the same model number, do you know if they changed the design? One side of yours does even have a rivet or a nut but the ones on there seem to have it
been a sk user for many years now... got many sk pliers in my tool box, including ones just like those, & been using em for 25+ years now... what can u say, american made, top shelf quality... whats not to like... enjoyed the video man, thanx (& just fyi, im not affiliated with em, but i highly recommend buying ur sk tools thru harryjepstines web site, get some great deals & theyre "in-bed-with" sk at some level(?) ...i rekon its kinda like sk-overstock or something... but u cant beat their prices)
My SK slip joints are my go to pliers. Go on the website and periodically check out there steals and deals. You can get great deals there. I probably have more SK tools than any other brand.
@@TonyTheTechnician no problem. I have an older 1/2 drive SK ratchet That ratchet is built like a tank. I definitely have put it through its paces, and it still works awesome. Their sockets are really good too. Definitely pricey though
@@draffa5798 ya I was looking at the sockets and wrenches a few years ago and have really wanted them but the price was a little steep for what I wanted to pay at that time
As much as I like how flush that pivot head is, I just wish it was removable or at least adjustable like on the Tekton. I know there's a warranty and all that good stuff, but I just have a thing for long term (user) serviceability. Really nice looking though, and I certainly wouldn't say no. Thanks for the review.
One of these times I'm gonna jump on "deals and steals" at SK. Tony, when does NHRA get running again. Next month like usual? Also, are fans going to be allowed this year or still a limited number with limited access to the pits?
SK is China owned now so I’ll pass. I used to be a big SK fan. They had great tools for a better price than tool trucks and never had issues with them. I won’t be buying any more form SK anymore since the sellout.

Great thank you
Awesome!!!
Can't beat Tekton for the money!!!
Agreed!
Wright,sk and proto are the Go to.
👍👍👍
That flush slip joint is a great feature! I have always had good service from my SK tools.
That's great to hear and ya that's like one of my favorite features. More pliers should be that way.
Got myself a pair of these about 6 months ago- strongly recommend these!
Absolutely agree!!!! And that's great to hear

They made a slip joint needle nose
That no one else makes !!!
Wish I could buy them 👍👍👍

SK pliers are similar to the old USA Craftsman pliers. Same style pivot and finishing.
Indeed 👍
Very nice! I like that it doesn't have the rivnut type pivot point. Sometimes that thing gets in the way.
Agreed. Absolutely love that part

For some reason SK marks products that are out of stock as "coming soon". Kinda confusing.

Reminds me of Craftsman pliers from late 1990s, I think they were made by western forge
Exactly what I was thinking. They came with a well built tongue and groove and needle nose pliers too.
Ya craftsman had some nice pliers back in the day
Those SK pliers look like they are a great deal!
They really are 👍

True Knipex is amazing. I love Knipex pliers but they also don't have slip joint pliers

Agreed!!! 👍 Hahaha that's awesome. Mine is actually ADK. That is funny 😂
link to sk?
Link is in the description 👍
Tony, Craftsman slip joint pliers have had the flush joint since the mid 1990's.
Yes indeed. Heard of them alot. Never used them. Back when Craftsman actually made things in the USA 👍
@@TonyTheTechnician If you go to ebay and type in "Thorsen 8 Inch 4 Position Slip Joint Pliers" you can see the only 4 position pliers I know of.

Willing to sell the sk pliers?
more sk reviews. I do not have any SK but they look good. Da Bear has done SK reviews but not from a actual user view point.
