Tom Silva from This Old House demonstrated a similar technique a few years ago to install balusters. He used a simple elastic band for sewing marked every couple of inches and a pair of clamps. It worked exactly the same, stretch or collapse as needed for even spacing lining up the marks right-side or left-side. I've used his idea to install 4ft picket fences around the house. Works great and the elastic band costs $5.

Cool but why not nail up a section so I can see how easy it is?

My little brother made me one 27yrs ago when figuring out how to nail up a shadowbox. Now he captains the largest helicopter in Australia. 😂

I do fence patio separators at commercial Townhouse and Apartment properties and those units have different lengths at each location and some are different lengths at adjoining units. This is a freaking GREAT IDEA! Hang first slat...hang last and stretch the bunjee...I wish I had this years ago.

Set your post accordingly and continue with repetition all day long without the rubber band
