I've enjoyed your videos from day one! I remember being in the 8th grade finding your video on a compra-temp getzen. It was 9-10 years ago now but I still try to watch all of your posts!
Jonathan - as always you sound great on both of those horns and surprisingly both sound quite similar. If you made me pick I think that the Artesian seems to fit you a bit better - tone sounds more full to me. Paul is right - the Artesian really sounds good with the GR.
Heather; always a pleasure to hear from you. :) Two great horns, really. I don't think I bring out the best in a sterling bell. It IS a great horn, however. The Artisan - such a sweet tone.
I think that was about 4 3/4". The Conn Vintage One I played here had a sterling silver bell and then gold plated; unbelieveable value. I'm not crazy about sterling silver though... I've since sold it but someday I'd like to get another Conn V1. I was VERY impressed with the craftsmanship of this trumpet.
@@714jk I tried to sell a Conn Vintage One last year. I only had one person interested, offered me a reasonable price for it, but told me it was for his son to play in junior high beginner band. I couldn't do it. Not only because the Conn requires quite a bit of air, but I just couldn't let that horn go to a beginner. I have owned it since new (2002), and even though I did a lot of funk, jazz and show band gigs with it, I always babied it when I played. It's immaculate. A junior high kid would wreck it in no time. I'll hold on to it a bit longer I guess. :)
@@themidimachine Hi. Just saw your note about selling your Conn V1. If still available would you email me more info & photos about your trumpet. Thanks.

You're very kind. I hope to encourage and hopefully add some ideas, at least. Again, so kind of you to comment. Continued best wishes! :)
Hear more of a hiss with the Bach but producing a clean and bright sound, yet the Conn buzzing and ringing a bit, giving it some nice texture.
The GR on that Bach really rocked

What is the bell size on the conn horn? Beautiful gold plating. Beautiful sound as well.

Conn is a better buy for a novice player like me. I find the the older horns meant for intermediate players are easier for me to play
The Vintage One was meant for any pro. Nicholas Payton played it for a while
