NW himself put it this way: " The new species of crab was found in eastern Austria and lived during the late part of the Jurassic period, around 150 million years ago. This song about an author/scientist Carl Sagan was originally on the cd-single of "Elan" (2015). It's a good song. There's also an excellent compilation video on the fan site "Comunidade Nightwish". 😎👍

A fitting tribute indeed to the wonderful Carl Sagan... who almost, singlehandedly convinced the rest of NASA to take additional imagery from the Voyager II spacecraft as it departed our solar system so that we have that iconic image of our Pale Blue Dot of a planet from all those billions of miles away... a bit of perspective on our tiny spot in the vastness of our universe. And thank you to the genius that is Tuomas Holopainen and to the wonderful voice of Floor Jansen. Impeccable.

Per your description of Floor singing a storybook; on The Greatest Show on Earth if you pull up the lyrics and Google the terms you find out Floor is singing a science text book of the history of life on this planet.
There is another Sagan reference - the second disc of Human Nature ends with AdvAstra This was used as the outro often on the 2022 tour. The best of all (IMO) is Hellfest Now some will not like it because there is a minute of blank video, but during that they are taking the bows and it is the voiceover that matters. Then the video comes back, the guys line up side by side, Floor steps forward to the microphone and opens her mouth and... We'll the first time I heard it, and a good few times since, I had to grab the arms of my chair to quote literally stop myself falling off. It was just - well there's no word for it, breathtaking doesn't do it justice. None of the other performances I've seen matched it, not even when I was there in person at Wembley. Do yourself a favour and listen. The Carl Sagan passage used as voiceover is famous and brilliant and the performance.
Nightwish has been several years the numer one band for me, but I find this song just a few months ago. It is awesome and I love it. It is so sad that this can not be played on Spotify. It would go straight to my playlist.
