President Tinubu Gave Us an Option of Paying N250k Minimum Wage for Higher PMS Price - Ajaero

  • President Tinubu presented us with two options, the N62,000 minimum wage offered as arrived by the Tripartite committee or Labour's N250,000 minimum wage demand that will be accepted if pump prices of PMS will be increased without pushback. We analysed the implications of the offer and went back to the President and agreed for N70,000 which is an increase of 133% of the former minimum wage
Joe Ajaero, President, Nigeria Labour Congress

Some Medical professors earn close to 1mil. So 70k are for the lower end for low earning job role. Bankers won't earn 70k. They earn more and the higher they go the higher their earning.

This is funny, can you imagine, you let fuel price go higher and you are still using it to threaten labour. Labour should have come with a reasonable price than 70k. It was there job to be active and move Nigerians out of suffering, not using it to scare them. They should have think about what to threaten us with. If he increase the fuel price or other things, then it would disrupt his 2027 agenda. It’s kind of simple. What concern you about their government labour!!

Dis is not about collecting money, i believe say everybody do basic economics for school. Increase in wages will only lead to inflation.
Labour is usless, dey need to reduce expenses for wages to work. Eg. Price of goods, public trasportation, housing, free health care, hike in electricity, which will reduce consumption of petroleum products. Then we will have a living wage

Government workers have never delivered a value worth their demands. Why? No one is regulating the quality of services they deliver to the public. 7 drivers in a ministry over 3 vehicles. Is that not wasteful? If the government try to right-size, labour will fight again. So, we can all hope, cry and watch silently. We are our own problem. No nation rise like that.
I hardly visit government establishment here in the US; it’s just a call. The responder will immediately inform you your call is being recorded for quality assurance purposes. He/she will remain helpful and respectful throughout the course of the conversation. He/she will even asked you, if there’s anything else you want done for you. Then, you’ll find a survey to assess the official on your phone or in your mail. That’s how a system works. They deliver value for money. Go to our own government offices, hardly will you meet half of them on their seats; tokenizing around. And responding very rudely.
Quality assurance must be subbed to consultants and discipline should be meted.
