I fail to understands why these kids are untrained. I always coached and this was ALWAYS deemed unacceptable. A lift and throw is always to take the opponent to the mat NEVER a slam. This can paralyze a kid. If you cannot train kids to not injure their opponents then get out of wrestling. This kid obviously was taught to do that .

If you coach kids to worry about their opponents safety nonstop.. then they will not reach their goals. My kid now wrestles D1 on a 80 percent ride. You should coach soccer
What I also find critical is that he doesn't just let him fall, but also uses a lot of force to make the fall as hard (or fast) as possible. When you take someone down, the point is to get a good position for yourself, not injure the other person. The latter would be street fight and that has no place on the mat. To protect health, such accelerated throws should be punished much more severely.
You also can't intentionally bring down with force in an attempt to power bomb someone like that. Fuck I was stronger than anyone i wrestled, i would have won state 3 years in a row if they had let me nail people with The UnderTakers LAST RIDE.

In this case it does not matter if Red's knee hit the mat first. Just because a rule says your knee has to be on the mat first does not mean EVERY TIME your knee is down first it's a legal return. Following 1 rule does not mean you didn't break others. This is illegal 100% of the time in high school no matter if it's 2011 or 2022. Plus at the time of this video these guys are unexperienced and lack really any fluid control that you want to make sure they are safe and not risking injury more than they need to.

As I was told long ago. If you lift your opponent off the ground, as soon as his feet leave the mat, you are responsible for them.
