Yeah totally! The story of this song, which it was based on (titled as "Taisho Romance"), was totally heart-wrenching. It broke my heart into pieces. Sorry, I can't contain my sadness.
Here is my summarization of the story titled "Taisho Romance" One day a random letter appeared in Tokito's table... Its a letter from different era... He didn't know how the sending process happening. It just appearing in his desk... He was communicating to a Girl named Chiyoko living in Taisho era. And after a several exchanging letters Tokito fall in love on Chiyoko. September 1, 2023 (I don't know if this is the exact date) his phone ring and found out that it's century anniversary for the super earthquake occured 100 years ago in Tokyo "Chiyoko is living in Tokyo too.." 100,000 people died in that earthquake. He desperately sent a letter to warn Chiyoko but the problem is the sending process is taking about 10 days to send to another era... And he confessed in that letter... After that he cannot send nor receive any letter for Chiyoko In miracle, After a fire occur in Chiyoko's house the letter arrived 2 days before the Earthquake. In same reason Chiyoko cannot reply to Tokito's letter so instead she made a letter that pass to her son.. " Which is the father of Tokito's friend". She wrote her feelings to for Tokito but Chiyoko is already 80 when she wrote that letter that time and she already died.
