I am glad this stuff has a purpose in it's native lands. In parts of North America it is so invasive it is impossible to eradicate and it's mere presence can bring property values down.
Love your videos Kuuneru. If I may ask, why do harvest the Itadori differently this time compared to in your video "Picking Wild Edible Plants"? In the old video you seem to just snap of the shoot at some place it is less tough (perhaps similar to how one can prepare asparagus?) but in this one you go to lengths at finding the right spot and then cutting it of. Seems more time-consuming, but is this because you get a better crop?
I just found out this is edible. I was cutting back several bushes, vines and plants in My yard and noticed the look of bamboo. I feared it may be a problem knowing about real bamboo and it being invasive. I read stuff that this is invasive but if it's eaten more often it then maybe it won't be. It contains vitamin A, vitamin C, potassium, phosphorus, zinc, and manganese. It also contains Resveratrol which is a substance still being studied for its numerous health benefits. My neighbors yard is loaded with these plants and some of them started growing into My yard. I threw away the plants growing in My yard. So I will ask for some and give it a taste to see if I like it.
It is the most hated vegetable worldwide. We are fighting it at the moment. Spending 20+ years to combat one location with this vegetable is not fun....
Bismillah,,salam Kuuneru san. I very enjoy with your actifities., because i life in village too. Miss Dianxi from Yunan Soo do like this. Its was very amazing. Sorry my English not good. Terimakasih banyak.
No. Its in the UK and USA and is labeled as invasive. Grows in marshes, sides of roads, sunny patches in woods and old Victorian houses in the suburbs.
Hum!!!
Only PARTS of the knotweed is edible, therefore it's not necessary to pick it all! IF ONLY that was the solution....... Excellent video. I enjoy Japanese Knotweed too. I'm waiting for it to come up in a few weeks 🤠🐟👍

The same here in Europe, in Switzerland it still controlable but in France there are some places it is way impossible to clear
Same in Ireland and the UK. A huge menace to properties here.

Lovely video. Thank you!🤗
What other thing's can you do with Japanese knotweed please
Everyone is trying to get rid of Knotweed. I'm trying to figure out how to grow it for food and medicinal uses like this guy.

Love to grow these in Australia but can't:(. Thank you for your videos
kai ken Taiga , so he boiled it first to reduce the sourness before cooking it
The environment in Japan keeps this plant in check. Anywhere else and it gets out of control in a bad way.

I watched it to the end. Awesome ❤
Wild Forest 🌳 Organic Vegetables are So Treasure hunt for me ✨✨💎

Parece delicioso...tudo muito saudável! 😉
(Sweden)
I’ll love to live in a place like that.....
Like it..does it grow in Japan only?
No. Its in the UK and USA and is labeled as invasive. Grows in marshes, sides of roads, sunny patches in woods and old Victorian houses in the suburbs.
My back yard in Buffalo NY
what is the name of the green leaves that you steam with the fish?
It's jatung
@@Rootschannel6176 I google it, jatung is a kind of Banana leaf
Vithou Heng It’s butterbur leaves. Japanese eat butterbur scape. Maybe he used butterbour smells.
I was wondering the same thing. It's called Colts foot here in the US.

This is one very invasive plant. You do not want it anywhere near your property!
Peter McFadden agree they grow here in US and my back yard didn’t even you can eat them
@@benb5891 House values here in the UK can be devalued by thousands of pounds if Japanese Knotweed is present. Removing it is massively expensive.
so u mean its not good if i plant it in my backyard?
@@user-BORNQUEENZZZ I would not recommend that you plant it.
Not a problem in Aisa as they have bugs that eat it and keeps it under control.
Japanese knotweed is NOT BELOVED in UK!
Then eat it!

I think that asparagus 👍👍👍
Sophia Sophia , Those are not asparagus. It looks more like young bird docks shoots or perhaps your bamboo shoots.
Its Japanese knotweed ,very sour..that's why he have to boil them first to take the sourness 😊
