I disagree. Just as someone is or isn’t a hall of famer, some people in the HOF deserve to be inner circle members. Ted Williams, Ruth, etc are freaks among freaks, if that makes sense. Making it to the MLB doesn’t mean that you should be treated the same as Juan Soto or Kershaw, who are more distinguished than the average player in the MLB. In both cases, however, ANYONE who makes it to the MLB or HOF deserves massive respect, just some more than others.

It wasn't because he was the best, but because you always felt like he was giving 100%. This was partly just a cultivated image, but there was some kernel of truth to it. Everybody hated A-Rod despite his skills. I watch baseball from 1987 to now so I saw Jeter's entire run. He was one of the mythical figures of that time. @@soldemers7809 Yeah, and the Marlins haven't yet proven they're doing it well. They won pandemic baseball, sure, but then they sold lots of their talent again the next year. So perhaps it's a re-re-build?

@@Qball42 the fact that they did not take 2020 as an accurate measure of how good their team was is a sign that this rebuild is in fact being done properly. They should be a threat to the NL East by 2025.
