Individual expression also comes from tone. Nobody sounded like Guitarist Brian may’ or Eddie Van Halen during the 70s because Eddie, and Brian May built thier own guitars. Wire thier own pickups. I dont think I'm speaking out of turn when I say Greg is one of the Kings of being able to play anything and I would honestly put him along side Guthrie Govan for his ability not only to play but to teach
Its something roy buchanan would do, other tele guys like roys onetime friend danny gatton would do that too. Roy would use his tone control with stuff to imitate a wah wah, i think much like his volume swells it was to imitate pedal steel stuff
Hmm. While it's interesting, and "kinda cool", it ends up sounding (to me) rhythmically appropriate, but awkward. A jazzy smudge - John McLaughlin has been doing it for ever. For most of us, it'll just sound like we're playing all the wrong notes, but in the right order...
Great lesson it really opens up possibilities. Thx much
Love tuning into his video’s for the astonishment if nothing else, it’s like a Jujitsu class where you only maybe get 5% of the stuff ! 😊
Greg you are a phenomenal large fingered beast from middle America, and you are a blast to listen to.!!!!
yea, his fingers really are long and delicate, and he is a master of all styles. The Moves of his fingers remind me of the legs of a dancing spider. 👌
he's feno meanal
more if this please!!!! great lesson from the master himself!
Even understanding everything he explains I wouldn't be able to play remotely close. This guy is a guitar genius.

Holy f… ! This is vids for pros only ! Crazy Greg. Crazy good Greg. Thanks
SuperB lesson, that you;-)
So great. Greg got the tone sound Danny gatton was going for back then . Equipment was not as easy to control in 70s 80s
That’s just silliness. Tone is in the hands. Fender and marshals…pretty much the same amp designs since 50s and 60s

So in other words....no rules. Love it. The first time I heard mix-a- lidi-penta-flat 5, is when I said...nah...just gonna play.
