    This is what I love about your channel... It's none of this "look at what I can build" bullshit. You use real locations with minimal alterations and bring on the hoard. Good stuff.

    I think what your seeing is the patch they did to Z's a while back. when they take fall damage they have a chance to go into destroy everything mode for 30 seconds or something. thats why sometimes they beat on stuff instead of running the loop

    I used the new destroyed Box-Factory to build my homebase with a great catwalk base on top. It has two tall chimneys made from steel...

    Zombies take hardly any fall damage, barely even 20 from over a hundred meters. At some point, they take almost 0 when their health is low enough. It's an extremely rare occurrence to see a zombie die of fall damage nowadays.

    I remember spending the first horde night in top of the dishong tower and nothing spawned at all! I couldn't see through the fog but I saw and heard nothing and just hung out in the penthouse where the loot stash is.

    My review of the Choppity Chop shirt.
    It's a great fitting shirt, the graphic perfect size and centering, not overly thick. Looking forward to not having casual conversation with strangers in the grocery store anymore. Money well spent!

    Glock have you considered a series where you have zombies similar to "The Walking Dead"? Hoard every night, feral sense on day and night, max number of zombies, but they're always set to walk and they're on easiest difficulty. I feel like it might be an interesting series that plays a bit differently too. Keep up the awesome work!

    I like the idea of a catwalk over a pit filled with metal spikes... zombies try to get at you via catwalk where you can do some damage until they fall into the pit and get stuck or die. Maybe even give them a path out of the pit so they can loop. Interesting tho that they stopped looping after awhile in your vid. As always thanks for the great videos. 🤘😁

      If the supports are NOT in the pit they can't get at them... so the supports would have to somehow be outside the pit.

    Glock. I believe it's "fall damage" that triggers a "destroy everything" mode with the zombies to prevent AFK-bases.

    Zombies go into rage mode due to fall damage which is why they attacked the pillars. I believe I've seen pit traps have Electric traps to inflict Damage over time to knock them out of rage mode.

    From the research lab of Glock 9 comes a new series - FOR SCIENCE!!!!! This was fun to watch and somewhat horrifying as well due to the heights and small walkway. Watching those zeds pouring out the windows was hilarious. The issue was at some point the zeds were triggered into rage mode and started attacking the supports. As long as there's an open path they will continue the loop with no aggression but the stairs got fucked up and sent them into rage. Really enjoyed this episode :)

    Zombies don't like to pat more than something like 20 blocks or so from what I've seen in my experiences. Once they fall. It might be too far for them to come back.
    Love the vids though. Really looking forward to another 1shot kill series. Best series of any content creation out there IMO.

    Not sure if it was the same way on A19, but the horde night zombies target your location and travel to it every few seconds. This is why, despite their looking at you, they run to where you were previously. This means that it is possible to kite the entire horde regardless of where they spawn around you. I've managed to do several horde nights by just walking backwards while firing.

    In my opinion, the AI choose randomly what the zombie will do. You payed more attention to those who follow the path as you expected meanwhile other groups choose different ones. Once the bulk stopped following the stairs up to you, the other groups where there doing what they choose to do.
    In other words, any base you choose to build should keep in mind there will be several paths to cover and the wall destroyer zombies are going to be present.

    i built a hatch hallway at the top of the apartment block worked very well. these type(catwalk) are always hit and miss nice video though :)

    the fall damage on the zombies is capped around 33% so if you do 66% dmg before they fall they die, otherwise they get up :)

      I was told that it does 33% at 14 blocks drop. They said you can stack that three times with a multiple fall base so when they reach bottom they’re at 1%. I really need to test this for lazy horde days!

      If fall damage is a straight percentage of their remaining HP, a fall will never kill them no matter how much damage you do before they fall. For example, you shoot the zombie until it has 90 HP left, the fall takes off 30 HP. If you shoot the zombie until it has 9 HP left, the fall takes off 3 HP. The only way the way fall might kill it is if the HP loss is rounded up to the next whole number. So a zombie with 1 HP left would take 1 HP of damage and die. However, if the HP loss is rounded down, it will eventually reach zero and falls would no longer cause damage.

      Correct, however its not a percent of their remaining HP, rather its a total damage cap. Zombies can take up to but no more than 33% worth of their total HP in damage from a single fall.
      Fall damage can kill them if they've already taken damage meaning it can exceed their remaining HP, so a 4th fall should be able to kill them. I can't imagine it would know the difference between falling with 1% remaining and 32%, unless there's a stipulation in place to ignore fall damage at that specific value.

    For the repairs, you can use arrow slits. Zombies won't walk on them. :D

      I used them as easy paths to enter my base, knowing zombies wouldn't walk them, great for repair work too.

    If they fall from too high up, which is something like 10-15blocks high, they do go into "destroy everything" mode for some time. Probably 1-2minutes.
    Also keep in mind that something you could've done with the catwalk is add some dart traps on the bottom row to help with the xp, get the loot bags and also impede their legs. You weren't getting loot bags cause of the fall dmg kills, you gotta do some dmg to get that xp and loot bags.

    They're definitely in "rage" mode, which drives them to attack the nearest structure to them. You'll need to damage them enough to pull them out of it. So putting blade traps around the pillars would work. And, since those traps can count as you damaging them, it should generate loot bags too

    If you have an extra computer you could log in on your map in creative and set up a spectator. That way you could have another viewpoint for videos like this, you would have been able to get some cool footage of splatting zombies. It’s more footage to edit, but I think it would add another level to your hoard episodes.

    It would be interesting to see that if you could bounce a zed off sloped blocks as they fell would they then go into rage mode away from the supports of a structure ? With rag doll physics being a thing then theoretically if the zed picks up enough velocity in the fall you could project them away from their direct landing point a fair way away... added bonus is that the first impact reduces them from full health so the second impact imparts more damage. Taken even further would be to ping pong them from one slope to another without slowing then down too much. We all know it would be fun to watch = )

    Fall dmg in zombies is heavy nerfed, I even think you can survive a dishong tower fall (never tested tho)

    Jawoodle has done a lot of testing. It seems like the Zs take 20% max damage from a fall, so it would be useful to hit the rads with a rad remover or they'll just regenerate their health on the way back up. Also they have a decent chance to go into destroy area mode after a fall and sometimes just randomly for 30 seconds or so.

    This seems like a great safe base design, there's always the enraged bit when they take damage, but if you used a machine gun or explosives or both I bet you wouldn't have this issue. The bow/rifle combo just doesn't kill enough to cycle them before enough get enraged to take down the support beams. That and the fall damage caps out at like 20 or 30% of their total hp so they need a bunch of falls to die, so if you want more loot bags and potentially also to avoid losing the horde base I'd suggest using a machine gun. (I get you couldn't for this video since it's showing off the horde base, but still, my 2 cents)

    My current play through I'm on day 95 permadeath and I almost exclusively use exploding arrows every horde. I used a cage on top the drive in until now but I've put grown it.... Still exploding arrows and a bow is sick!

    You won't need that much materials for the columns if you only upgraded a few of the bottom blocks because those are the only ones that are gonna take damage.

    My understanding is fall damage is a % of their health, so it will get low but never die. Any kind of bleed or fire would probably finish them off. So maybe a sledge turret with the fire mod, or fire arrows would be helpful.

    The bane of fall bases like this are the regenerating zombies. you need a way to take their regen offline or it will take a long time to kill them, if you even can kill them at all that way.

    I don't know if it's my base design (just a very reinforced 6-block high building with a full bird cage on top and a wall around it with a good 4 rows of iron spikes) or my playing completely default A-20, but I get my demolishers during the middle third of the attack. Going on my 37th horde night with no real changes beyond upgrades to what was there from the start. Okay, electric fence around half of it and a single, basic turret.

    i think if you had used frames between where you stood during the horde and the smaller building and pulled those frames up before the horde . then i think it would have worked because they would have only one path to you. as you had it i think they seen it as a possible path. but if you had maybe a 5 block gap then it would have worked. its just a guess though. i always build my bases from scratch anyway lol. good vid

      I set up shop in the top of Higashi in my first A20 playthrough. Take out the stairs from 2nd floor leading up. Clear the elevator shaft. Fix the ladder in the elevator shaft, all the way from ground floor to the penthouse. Set up SMG and Shotgun turrets in the elevator doors on floors 3 through 7. Blade traps at any entrances the zombies make on the first floor. Blade traps outside of the elevator entrance on ground level. Pipe bombs and molotov's in the elevator shaft all horde night long. Increase your bedroll and LCB size to encompass the whole building.

    I saw znation use the command -weather fog 0.2-which removed the fog in the wasteland and he could see the ground while flying gyrocopter

    as far as i know, zombies can never be killed by fall dmg. from what i know, they take %hp dmg, but falling can never be the thing that kills them.

    One problem I could also see is irradiated healing to full on their return trip

    What if you hooked up switches to strings of draw bridges, then once there full 💥 drop them to the streets below

    Josh confirmed the zombie AI has changed. When they fall and take damage they go into destroy mode.
